Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Registration is free and instantaneous.

But then again, why the bat? If they wanted a predator that CAN'T FLY they had millions of options, and yet they've created one out of a flying animal. If I were to done the supreme monster out of a chiropteran, I would kept it flighted

Humans and every thing else we know past the Permian would not exist as we know it becuase the future predator wether it is a paradox or not have members and access to the Permian which means that we might have a Mesozoic ruled by future predators which would prtobably adapt and survive the P-T extinction either way life will be much different when trying to compete with such an advanced beast.

Because the did not design it, they copied it. The ARC copied the predators, which escaped and ran riot, eventually they went back though an anomaly then the ARC copied the predators, which escaped and ran riot, eventually they went back though an anomaly then the ARC copied the predators, which escaped and ran riot, eventually they went back though an anomaly then the ARC copied the predators, which escaped and ran riot, eventually they went back though an anomaly then the ARC copied the predators, which escaped and ran riot, eventually they went back though an anomaly then the ARC copied them Ad infinitum

Primeval is a series for entertainmet, not for scientific accuraries. Just look how they change prehistoric animals like the Gorgonopsid or the Arthropleura.

All these future creatures are just a "Hey, how about a creature which can do this and that?" product.

As said in the making of of series 1, the future predator at first had a theropod-like head, http://i329.photobucket.com/albums/l367/primevalcreature/futurepredatordesign1.jpg?t=1218032698 but it was later changed into an eyeless human-like head to make it scarier. And since the only intelligent eyeless predator they could think of was a derived bat, the creature was said to be a bat.

If you're wondering how he eats and breathes
And other science facts
Then repeat to yourself 'It's just a show,
I should really just relax.

They were right about the head, I don't think a predator with a head like that would be as effective.

Time can't do what is not possible.

I suspect that the Future predators are a paradox. They were cloned by the ARC from predators that are descended from ones created at the ARC.
What is imposabel about any of the stuff exept for the fungus?

Wrong: the future predator would have wiped out most everything and starved. However smaller stuff like the first mamles and reptiles would live and all the big stuff of the Permian would be extinct, see the P-T extinction. Of course we would find the fossals of future predators and who knows what we would make of that?

I'm pretty sure you can't get animals wish active camouflage that good. Flatfish and cephalopods are pretty good at it but I doubt they could ever do that. I don't know if a mammal could even match those animals. There aren't even any green mammals.

Do you know the guys behind it have a website where they do their thing with big budget films and have guests. Paul & Storm and Jonathan Coulton did Tron and I think Weird Al did Jurassic park.

It's called rifftrax

The evolution of the mer is as fallows. 1. normel monky 2. as globel warming keeps up habatit floods into something like a mangrove swamp. 3. monky now grabs fish from the water to boost its diet. 4. monky starts swiming after its pray. 5. adaptions for swiming start to evolve. 6. adaptations for swiming finish to evolve. 7. sees cool sparkly thing hovering in it face and goes thrue into the sewer of now.

You can skip the first two steps because there already are some crab-eating monkeys in mangrove forests today.
