Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

Enjoying our azure blue world

Well Primeval is a Sci-Fi series so obviously it is going to be plausible with its monsters all the time...

In the end, the best advice I could give you would be to do your project in a way that feels natural to you, rather than trying to imitate some geek with a laptop in Colorado.

Well El Squibbonator the seris already started and also the series already ended, but is probable that there is going to be a season 6.Also In the series they explain why does an anomaly occurred, but I dont know how possible does this event sounds(I put it as a spoiler because some member haven't seen the series):

The only thing known to give off enough energy to drag the magnetic field away from the North Pole is the anomalies.

Therefore, when the Earth's cycle is up and it's time to change, Multiple Anomalies (and anomalies that have previously been closed) open all around the planet, thus dragging the magnetic field out of the North, and into the South (In the event that one of these Anomalies were to close, another two would open). However, Philip Burton, the founder of Prospero Industries predicted this event. Philip (who does not know the convergence is a completely natural event) created a device called 'the New Dawn Machine', a device capable of the biggest Anomaly closer in Human History, closing all the anomalies on the planet and directing the energy into a 'Super Anomaly'. Phillip's plan is to harness the energy of the Super Anomaly and use it to solve the world's energy problem. Once the convergence was complete, the Anomalies would automatically close themselves. However, now the Anomalies have been removed before the convergence was complete. That means that the Magnetic Pole isn't in the North, or the South, or anywhere.

The Convergence itself may be the whole reason for the Anomalies. The Anomalies may open just to try and keep the magnetic field at the North Pole stable, and Anomalies open up all over the world. It is visible on the Anomaly detector.Preacherstopping it from dragging everything metal into it. However, this is just a theory, but a very interesting and perfectly possible one, and is furthered by the fact that the show's creators said that in Series 5, the cause of the anomalies would be revealed.

It seems to have only aired in the UK. I've been keeping track of the BBC America schedule all year and Primeval's never been on it.

I've already started watching it. By the way, in the beetle swarm episode, Connor calls them prehistoric beetles, but the official site (and the Primeval wiki) calls them future beetles. We never see what time period they came from, so which is it?

I believe the Beetles are from the future, and Connor simply assumed they were prehistoric, as Matt knew as much about the Beetles as he did the Giant Burrowers.

Yes, they are from the sterile Earth future:
