| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. They have Scorpions the size of whales living in a low-oxygen desert, a naked lemur which can change the color of its skin as good as a cuttlefish and a fungus which can walk, see and roar! They probably don´t even know what "implausible" means. And I think Dinofelis or Dinotherium will appear in the episode where Danny returns from the Pliocene, similar to how apparently the Spinosaurus and the BoarCroc follow Connor and Abby into the present. |

I said too implausible even for them, but you just put things in perspective... that's still a stretch though. the BoarCroc follows them back? |

Well, the BoarCroc is a contemporary of Spinosaurus so I´d say it comes through the same anomaly as Connor, Abby and the Spinosaurus. Maybe not right after them, but certainly before the anomaly disappears again and because the team is still busy with the Spinosaurus the BoarCroc isn´t noticed till it wreaks havoc in the second episode, that´s atleast what I expect (I think the hunt for both the Spinosaurus and the BoarCroc combined with the introdcution of the new characters and the changed ARC and Abby´s and Connor´s return is too much for a single episode). |

ITV has revealed the plot of the first three episodes. The Boar-Croc has no connection with the Cretaceous anomaly from the first episode - it appears in the second episode and lives at the docks since it has been flushed down the drains several years ago (reference to the urban legend of "Sewer Alligators"). The third episode will feature people from the Victorian era which will get stuck in the 21st century (unlike the knight from series 3 who appeared and disappeared in one and the same episode) and "arboreal dinosaurs". What exactly they mean by that, I´ve no idea. Maybe they´re tree-dwelling raptors or future hoatzins or explanations for the Jersey Devil or completely fictional creatures which just look like dinosaurs (like the Gorgonopsid or the Scutosaurus which many people believe to be dinosaurs). |

No, I meant those "arboreal dinosaurs" may not necessarily be true dinosaurs, but just reptiles which most people would believe are dinosaurs, just like a lot people think the Gorgnopsid and the Scutosaurus are dinosaurs (and the Mosasaur, and the Pteranodon, and the Anurognathus, and every other prehistoric reptile...) But Hannah Spearrit mentions these creatures in an interview:
Sounds like Primeval´s version of a Dinosauroid. I hope it won´t look as humanoid as Dale Russell´s version. |

"Moves like a monkey but looks like a raptor. . " Sounds like it could be a Microraptor. |

I also think it'll look either like a microraptor or the 'treepounce' from Dixon's New Dinosaurs. |

Found this http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2010/12/02/a-new-era-of-primeval-begins-new-years-day-183401/20101202bbca01/
Apparently not a Dinosauroid, it´s really just a raptor more suited to climbing trees. No comparison to Microraptor is mentioned, so I guess it won´t have that "four-winged" anatomy (probably only some proto-feathers like the "usual" Raptors). |
