| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. Possibly, especially as some of the machines were made to be parents. But it seems unlikely they will be attached in the long run, which is a very good this. Popular leaders can get away with more. |

Would it be a better idea to raise a human colony from when they are babies or leave them in their artificial uteri until they are adults?

I don't see the point of having massive babies. |

Or you mean able but uneducated adults. Wouldn't there be a technology that 'educates' the still-contained children by installing information in their brains as they grow older in their artificial uteri via cords attached the the head? Of course, this shouldn't be used once the society establishes itself, as it could very well be abused to insert false information. |

or you could grow the first gen of humans in tubes, tear out their brains and replace it with computers carrying basic personalities based on a variety of selected humans before the launch, these computers would raise their children (having human bodies these would really be THEIR children) using the personality traits and whatnot. A computer on the ship would deal with any real knowledge, like most parents the parental computers would BS most everything they tell their kids or tell them to consult the ship computer. Why tear out the brains you ask? I ask ''Why not?'' |

Or we could stick with technology that we have or is a slight extension. If you rear your children in groups it will help them realise they are people and have better mental states, but don't raise them all together, then they will think it is gross to have kids with the people they grew up around. |

Or alternatively, since humans have ears, you could have the artificial uteri speak to the developing children about educational concepts, not as effective as installing information in someone's brain, but surely less expensive. Colddigger, the idea here is that the ship arrives at the planet first, and then establish the growing facility or grow nanotechnologcal "womb trees" and make the colonists later. |

Even better than embryos would just be to send a nanobot utility fog and have it build replicas of functional, educated adult humans from the local matter.

people like you guys are going too take the humanity out of these people infact why call them humans they might as well be educated colony drone 1, 2, 3 and so on these aren't humans there souless(and i mean emotional and personalty wise) drones they could never function like earth humans and what ever contact they had would be very creepy and strenous too earth humans. they would never function properly in a earth culture. and you all sound like the goverment i can see them thinking the same thing and programing war tactics and combat training into the robots becuase they know the drones will be souless or in other words drones of war when its needed. |

If a group of modern humans went to the 16th century I doubt the locals would cope well. Things move on, you can't stop that.
What government do you have? Also, why do you never capitalize anything ever? Just wondering. |

the usa 1 first off. and second i don't capitalize because i can't fully grasp the concept like every body else and its hard enough making my sentences readable. dyslexia plus someother stuff makes it hard for grammar too make any sense let alone spelling. bottum line is my brain works weird and english(let alone any other language) makes very little sense too me which in turn makes wrighting/typeing very hard for me. it's also why i use things improporly like too and to or their. there and they,re or even were where wear we're. so basicly i am lucky that you can read it and im glad you can. not trying in any way too sound harsh please do not take it that way i am just explaining. |
