Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

If there is thing about the animation world that truly disgusts me is when stupid, never-heard-of companies mimic box office hits - and in the worst way possible! Lets take a look at Dingo Pictures (http://www.dingo-pictures.de/en/): it makes extremely bad quality rip offs of Disney and Don Bluth's movies (well, it did, but it seems to be inactive since the release of Don Bluth's Anastasia, which marks the end of the domain of tradiditonal animation in the west). Lets see if you guess the movies each of their works is imitating (titles in bold indicate very obvious things):

-The Mouse Police
-Lucy and Lionel
-Janis the little Piglet
-Little Dalmatians
-Musicians of Bremen
-Puss in Boots
-Aladin
-Lord of the Jungle
-The Animals Soccer Match
-King of the Animals
-The Little Dinosaur
-Balto
-Arischa, the little witch
-Teddy, the little Bear
-Goldie
-Wabuu, the cheeky raccoon
-Benni and his friends
-Land of Toys
-Easter Bunnies
-Atlantis
-Pocahontas
-Anastasia
-Hunchback of Notre Dame
-Prince for Egypt
-Sword of Camelot
-Hercules

More recently, Video Brinquedo from Brasil specialized on copying Pixar movies as well as other CGI works, with crappy CGI, that is. Again, points for those who guess the copyied movies:

-Little Cars
-Little Fish
-Ratatoing
-Tiny Robots
-Little Bee
-Gladiformers
-The Little Panda Fighter
-Escola de Princesinhas ("Little Princess School")

I guess I'll try first. It doesn't seem fair for me to do the obvious ones.

the mouse police- the great mouse detecive
Atlantis- Disney's Atlantis
land of toys- Toy Story
the little dinosaur- land before time (the first one is one of my favorite animated movies ever)
sword of camelot- I think it was called quest for camelot
little cars- cars

Man they suck at coming up with names.

Yeah, I remember back in the 80's and 90's whenever Disney released a new movie there would be these extremely cheapo knockoffs in the stores a few months before the official vhs was released, I guess preying on gift-buyers and parents who didn't look too closely at what they were buying.

Indeed. And yes, there was a movie Quest for Camelot. Man, one of my favourites!

Those names are really bad. They remind me of how every film gets a porn parody/remake with a pun filled name.

and also really popular anime

anyway these are the remoras of the animation industry (or some kind of parasite)

Not remoras, leeches. And indeed the names are just shit (in most cases they just add "little" to an obvious aspect of the film). If they were animated porn versions, that would be acceptable. But no, they are just the crap versions of decent movies. Whoever makes this doesn't even bother with decent backgrounds!

What will be next? The little rag dolls (upcoming movie 9)? The little alien monsters? The little bird man in a moving castle?

Some of those are just way too obvious. At least most people have never heard of this company.
I wish I could give the public a true picture of the queen as she appeared at her best, but this would be impossible, even had she permitted a photograph to be taken, for her charming play of expression while in conversation, the character and intellect which were then revealed, were only half seen when the face was in repose. -Lilias Underwood when speaking of Empress Myeongseong

"I was born in the dark. I went out into the light, and your Majesty, it is my displeasure to inform you that I have returned to the dark. I envision a Seoul of towering buildings filled with Western establishments that will place herself back above the Japanese barbarians. Great things lie ahead for the Kingdom, great things. We must take action, your Majesty, without hesitation, to further modernize this still ancient kingdom."-Min Young-ik to Empress Myeongseong

By the who, is Howl's Moving Castle any good?

Is all of this legal? It is if it is a parody but I don't know.

Gladiformers? The I can't believe how brazen these fellows are. One day these false colours shenanigans are going to get them into trouble.

I might check it out. I don't think it will be as good as Steamboy though. But I am onto the dregs of steampunk anime. I avoided this because it was too much of a fantasy.

Yep, Gladiformers. Makes me wonder why didn't they called it "the little car robots".

Howl's Moving Castle might interest you due to the steam punk technology and war, but I guess giant bird creatures don't draw your attention do they?

Yeah I like my steampunk on the alternate history/sci fi side. Though you never know, Sakura Wars is a great favourite and the fight demons in that. And FMA has fantasy. I suppose I am ok with it when it is properly explained and has rules.

Speaking of that, 11 days till the remake of FMA. And 12 days till Partly Metallic Magician.
