| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. alright i am making this a project for anybody too post in it is not a serius project more like a world based on and for inspiring other peoples creativity. the point of this project is too make a really wierd and extreme alien world unlike earth. it will be made from the ideas of every body but the point is too make a world that can inspire every body else too make there own wierd worlds, you know get the creative juices flowing into a more weird and extreme section of the brain that is willing too make a risky world with stuff very different from us. the main ideas i have is a world made almost exclusively of radioactive materials. and has a large very thick and presurized atmosphere and a several mile think couting of ice made from methane, ethane, water, amonia and complex oxygen compunds. inbetween this and the ground/oceans is an atmosphere of simular compunds plus nitrogen, hydrogen, helium, and some other stuf including a lot of radioactive particuls which along with the tidal forces of its moons and the life forms/organicly produced gases keep the world warm enough on the inside for life. any more ideas for the planet should be suggested before we get too the life forms which hope fully will be awsome. all posts are welcome exept for poluting mockery posts (like lamna has been doing in my other topics) are great along wideas for your own worlds based on these concepts of wierdness and extremeness. |

Well, what do you want? Do you want everyone to just throw out body design ideas and not set up an ecosystem? Or do you want us to agree on a handful of designs that we build upon, and set up an ecosystem that you can draw? |
|
Oh Fine. Oh hi you! Why don't you go check out the finery that is SGP?? v Don't click v Spoiler: click to toggle | |

lets start with some base creatures and work from there we can make a few designs that could go with this enviroment and build groups from these initial designs. and we can build ecosystems based on these basic lineages we can then go back periodicly too improve and incorporate the old ones with the new ones. |

okay, well. obviously we must take advantage of the atmosphere, because that's an expectation me must meet. So, parachutes? |

is this dieing?!?!? i hope not lol. i would like parachutes and bubbles along with jets and wings but you guys deside. as for other things i have no clue maybe we should start with plants and fungus like things and then go into animals. |

How about an "animal" that climbs on the inner side of the ice "roof" by using large claws? Now I have two possibilities... First: While climbing it makes holes into the ice roof. Light comes through these holes and attracts small flying organisms which feed by using photosynthesis. The animal kills and eats these creatures. I´ve got the idea from Darwin IV´s Daggerwrist and it´s way of luring Trunksuckers. Second: The animal crawls on the ice roof and eats other small organisms which also crawl on the ice roof. This idea is less exciting, but not copied... |

Sounds like some good ideas I am glad this is back. For the first idea from memory I think the roof would be to thick for a tiny hole to make much difference in the light comming from it. The second idea sounds great we could even have a type of small flora up there that feeds on particles brought up by the winds and then gets eaten by herbivores which are eatin by your creature. |

the ice crawler could set up a mini nuke and blast a hole through the ice after flying away, then when the starved swarms of autotrophs rush to the oasis of light our critter swoops over to eat its fill |

I don´t know whether you mentioned it somewhere before, but how thick is the ice roof and how much light normally comes through? |
