| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! Clean Shaven? Goodness no, I just rub a electric razor on my face in the morning. I used to be able to stop myself from laughing by thinking the word "Molotov" and I would go silent and expressionless. |

There's no way I could do that. If I were to do that, it would come out in a Sean Connery voice. And his voice just makes everything better. |

We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar. "The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming Tree That Owns Itself

Just think about a expressionless soviet politician. Does anyone know why the Battle Hymn of the Republic makes me cry? It's about holy war, and I have some sympathy for the old confederates*. Plus it's the battle hymn of the REPUBLIC. Why does it make me cry? Why?? *Not modern ones, they seem to mostly be morons and racists. |

When I read something, a picture of something completely different would be visualized in my brain rather than the subject matter, though that is not to say I cannot digest the text I read. For example, when reading "evolution is not a planned process", a picture of an anthropomorphic banana making a confirming gesture at who he is speaking to pops up in my brain. Many other images popping up from other things I read appear in my mind. Does anyone else experience this?

When I was younger I experienced something somewhat similar. For instance, when I saw Walking with Dinosaurs, I imagined all the dinosaur/pterosaur species from the series as a gang with mammals, sharks and birds as rivals. When I saw the original dinosauroid for the first time I imagined a male raptor from JP3 transforming into it thanks to Alan Grant's magic. |

I have to focus my mind on immersing myself in a TV program, otherwise my mind wanders. Something like that? I have trouble telling East Asian pain/pleasure screams and moans apart. |

It does not help when they are poorly animated and in a different language. I'll stick with erotic fiction. |

Sometimes when reading I suddenly wonder how I am able to read, so I try and see how the symbols on the page are translated into words in my head. By doing this I am suddenly unable to read because I'm concentrating too hard on reading! |

Does anyone think the pirate-ninja thing is just strange? In 300 years are we going to be celebrating Nathuram Godse, John Wilkes Booth and Gavrilo Princip? Will we have talk like a hijacker day? |
