Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web.

For example, I don't automatically swear. I'm not one of those morons who thinks swearing is wrong and use in in conversation, but I don't swear when I get hurt or something. I just make funny noises.
I do the EXACT same thing!

I am horrified of whales and angels too. And I tend to absorb people's personalities and energy when I'm around them. That's fun.

I also sometimes like to position my hands and/or arms in wierd ways, such as only gripping with three digits, and making a hook-hand with my index finger and thumb. I don't do it as much as I used to though.

I sometimes pick stuff up with my feet, like if I am caring some washing and drop a sock.

L'évolution Spéculative est moi

I also have a fear of fetuses. It's because of that scene in 2010: The Year We Make Contact when the fetus of Dave Bowman is floating in the corridor of the spaceship and turns to look at what's his face with those disturbingly underdeveloped eyes...*shudder*

Quirks? Well, I tend to think out loud. I can't really articulate simple thoughts in my head, so I usually just whisper to myself, no doubt some people think I'm schizophrenic. I also have chronic psychosis, so sometimes my actions and thoughts make very little sense (to others, anyway, to me they make perfect sense at the time). I also tend to sit a lot like Gendo Ikari[/i] a lot (although I don't wear glasses). And one of my strangest quirks, even to myself, is my ipod. I have an 80GB ipod, and it currently has 30GB of music on it; a little over 5000 songs. And yet, none of them interest me. I put them on there, with the intent of listening to them, but when I tried to I just didn't want to.

I'm also the kind of person who can't focus on something I'm not interested in (math in particular). It's not that I don't want to, it's that I cannot. I don't know, I just can't; even if I try I can't.
We should all aspire to die surrounded by our dearest friends. Just like Julius Caesar.

"The Lord Universe said: 'The same fate I have given to all things from stones to stars, that one day they shall become naught but memories aloft upon the winds of time. From dust all was born, and to dust all shall return.' He then looked upon His greatest creation, life, and pitied them, for unlike stars and stones they would soon learn of this fate and despair in the futility of their own existence. And so the Lord Universe decided to give life two gifts to save them from this despair. The first of these gifts was the soul, that life might more readily accept their fate, and the second was fear, that they might in time learn to avoid it altogether." - Excerpt from a Chanagwan creation myth, Legends and Folklore of the Planet Ghar, collected and published by Yieju Bai'an, explorer from the Celestial Commonwealth of Qonming

They are just so disguising, organs in general are not very nice to look at.

I have been singing the parts of I know of Yuki no Shingun all week. I can't get the tune out of my head. Probably because it is so snowy.

I think velvet feels horrid, I don't know how people think it is smooth, it's like sandpaper.

I tend to wobble my legs about when sitting down, like I'm desperate for the loo, it drives people mad but I never know I'm doing it.

When on my own and daydreaming I often find myself gesticulating like and idiot and making sound effects... kind of the way a kid would play with action-figures... very odd.

Finally, and grossly, I bite my nails and use them to pick my teeth... a very strange habit and one that drives my friends, boyfriend, and family insane. Again I often don't even know I'm doing it!

when I was with some friends we saw a small group of people protesting abortions, they (the protesters) had a big sign that had a bloody aborted fetus lying on a table (imagine how that photo was made eh?) and when I looked at it I got really really hungry. My friends told me that that was F-ed up...
Oh Fine.

Oh hi you! Why don't you go check out the finery that is SGP??

I think grabing the legs and beating the head against them as I do when very angry isn't normal is it?

Qurks? I'm not sure if I have any...

I tend to put a lot of things in my mouth. Organic things like shoots, leaves, twigs, bones, shells, etc. and just chew on them. I don't know how many times I've injested poisons without realising it, I must have eaten something poisonous at least once (the habbit stretches over to berries as well, though if I don't recognise it or it tastes bad I spit afterwards). I don't like pens or plastic, but I do occasionally chew on the key for the house too, or on cutlery after I've finished using them to eat.

I also never shave. People think that's really freaky and disgusting, but I really hate having hairless skin because it makes me feel nauseous and dirty, and I hate even more when it grows back in (sore and itchy). So I just stopped doing it around the age of 16.

Also, people think I'm wierd because I'm quiet. I once overheard some girls in college talking about several people they were frightened of because "the quiet ones are the ones you should watch out for!". I didn't realise not having anything to say was such a big deal to people until recently...

My legs sometimes sometimes jig about like that as well.

I used to chew my pens pretty badly, but never anything else.

As for shaving? What you do is cool. I find it weird how people get turned off by people with body hair "Eww you have body hair like a like a adult! You should be smooth"
I need to shave my face otherwise it feels really weird. I also shave my feet and ankles so the hair does not get caught in the weave of my socks and get tugged. I'm never shaving my pubes again though, that itched like hell for weeks.

Just talk to yourself. Then you won't be one of the quiet ones and nobody will worry about your mental health. :P
I'm fairly quiet too, its just who I am. I think those people can't understand that some people can think and talk at the same time and so quiet people must be plotting.

Is it normal to have become a friend and English tutor for a Manchu in Peking? I can't remember how we met.
Is it also normal to be more familiar with the world map of 1914 that todays? I can remember most of the African nations by the names they had then but not now.

I shave but I hate being clean-shaven I think I look like a choir-boy! Whilst I like having stubble I find after 5 days of not shaving I get really itchy...

When I'm embarrassed or trying to stop myself laughing at inappropriate times I bite my lip, I once bit to hard and made myself bleed profusely in the middle of a seminar... must have looked really psychotic!
