| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! This is mostly just going to be a distraction so I can get other work done out here in the real world (the real world, how overrated), anyway, this is my first project so any and all comments, critic, advice are all welcome. Nil Osseous is a world where bones never evolved to any point, but some organisms do use beaks, shells, and so on made of calcium. The planet has a lower gravity then Earth, and much more water. This is just a crude starting point, I'm planning on working out the ecosystems, food chains/webs, actual organsism I already have in my head. (I have no art skills, so pictures will be extremely basic) Edited by Rodge the Linkbot, Jan 29 2009, 01:31 PM.

This looks really interesting. I'll look forward to seeing how it progresses.
