| Speculative biology is simultaneously a science and form of art in which one speculates on the possibilities of life and evolution. What could the world look like if dinosaurs had never gone extinct? What could alien lifeforms look like? What kinds of plants and animals might exist in the far future? These questions and more are tackled by speculative biologists, and the Speculative Evolution welcomes all relevant ideas, inquiries, and world-building projects alike. With a member base comprising users from across the world, our community is the largest and longest-running place of gathering for speculative biologists on the web. While unregistered users are able to browse the forum on a basic level, registering an account provides additional forum access not visible to guests as well as the ability to join in discussions and contribute yourself! A lot of those things are implausible, though my faves are the quadrapedal and some of the flightless birds, marine birds, marine crocs, the sloth owl, and the age of reptiles (though I had the same exact idea for a future earth dominated by reptiles
) Oh and that cute little flying hamster

Wow, nice concepts... ...If you build RPGs. They're kind of nice, specially the diplodocus-like duck and the megatherium-like raccoon. But, they're nice just as enemies from some sort of RPG game. |

So are Treecats, but they are still cool. I don't think the site is really supposed to be that serious. |

I know few of them are plausible, but you've got to see all the pop culture references they have in those creatures! There's one that looks like Optimus Prime, on that looks like Pikachu, one that looks like the USS Enterprise, one whose name references Godzilla. . .the list goes on and on. |

Wow people seem to take spec-evo a little seriously... yes these designs aren't scientifically plausible but they're still really great designs. There's a place for hardcore science and a place for wild imagination, these forums are perched precariously inbetween. |

If those things were genetically engineered, I wouldn't rant about them. But they appearently aren't supposed to, so... |
