Ever since Celeste had woken from her coma just a few weeks before, life had not gone back to what it had been before. Sure, Toryn Junior had adjusted well to his mother's return and they were just as close as they ever were. However, Toryn was a different story. He was still somewhat distant, seemed depressed and above all else, Celeste was sure Toryn still blamed himself for what Travis had done. Celeste didn't blame him, not at all. She only blamed Travis and was grateful they had not heard from him since that day. Sighing, Celeste made her way up the staircase through the empty mansion. Toryn Jr. was spending the day with his grandparents and Celeste had one motive in mind for the day: to talk to Toryn about his feelings towards this. Even though she had mentioned it a few times, this time she was not going to take him brushing it off as nothing because it was really beginning to wear on their relationship. After knocking lightly upon Toryn's office door, she stepped inside when he answered and closed it silently behind her. A small smile played on her face as she waltzed over to his desk and perched herself on the edge of it, near the corner. "Whatcha up to, babe?" Celeste asked curiously as she leaned over and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. |

"There's a war brewing," Toryn muttered quietly as he tossed the papers farther out onto the desk and then lent back into his chair. Toryn knew that there was going to be a large scale war in the near future and he did not want to be one to have to deal with it. Rebels and Rogues were moving in from the North and South, Strigoi were advancing with an attack, Moroi seemed like they were in a frozen state, and the Elves hadn't spoken to Toryn since his brother's marriage to an Elf promised to an Elven prince. He could handle a war, but he didn't know if his family could. They were all warriors in their own sense and they had all fought in battles but he didn't want to disturb their current lives. He was set on going to the Elvish lands by himself to set up a new treaty and get that sorted out. "What were you doing down stairs?" Toryn asked her curiously and then glanced up to stare at her. He and Celeste were still distant after she had woken up from her coma but he had gotten slightly better. He was just a man who blamed himself for his family's losses and couldn't help it. |

"Just walking around. I was bored and lonely," Celeste said simply as she rose from her seat perched on his desk. After slipping into his lap, she laid her hands to rest on the sides of his face. As she stared into his hazel tinted eyes, she sighed ever so slightly. "You do realize we haven't had sex since before I went into that coma, right?" Celeste then let her hands travel down the front of his chest, feeling his bulging muscles through the fabric of his shirt was enough to turn any woman on. "And it's not just that. You've been so distant since I woke up and I don't want you brushing this off again because we seriously need to talk. It's getting that bad," Celeste said simply, just being blunt and to the point this time with him. It seemed to be the only way to get a straight answer from him. She just wanted things to go back to normal, at last. |

Toryn had stared foward her, expressionless. After a few seconds he had slid out from under her and then moved around to stand near the window on the side of the room. His skin seemed to absorb the light though his eyes squinted just a bit. It was obvious the sun hurt them and he needed to feed soon. After staring out into the back yard full of different gardens, a bush maze, and a few ponds he turned to face his lover, his hands clasped behind his back. "Let's talk then." Toryn replied just as blunt as she had said her words. He didn't want to fight but he wasn't in the mood for anything. So what if they hadn't had sex in weeks? Was that all that mattered? If so Toryn wasn't about to let her stick around. Afterall, she had already turned him down for marriage and now he was trying to figure her out exactly. |

Celeste rose to her feet and followed Toryn over to the window where he stood staring out. "I sort of just did. I feel you're being distant and still blaming yourself for what Travis did," Celeste said once again as she wrapped her arms around him from behind, laying her head to rest against his back. Celeste had no intentions of making this a fight or argument, all she wanted to do was to talk. She wanted to help Toryn to realize it wasn't his fault and that feeling bad about what was in the past is pointless now that she's woken up. "None of it should matter anymore. I'm awake and I'm here, we should make the best of it." |
