The past few months with Maddox had been much less than desirable for Samantha and Danielle. As much as Sam loved her man and even though she would always stand by his side, the post traumatic stress was beginning to weigh on her as much as it was him, it was even effecting how their daughter viewed her father. Danielle was terrified of Maddox when he was going through one of his episodes. If he was screaming, randomly waking up and cussing, or anything of the like, it had grown monotonous for Sam but was still very realistic for Danielle. Sam wondered how much more their little girl could take before it would begin to affect her relationship with him. She was far too young and just couldn't understand what was going on, it was not her fault and really not Maddox's either.

Now as Samantha and Danielle sat in the dining room of the small home she now owned with her lover, Sam sat down a plate of cut up hot dogs in front of her daughter. After setting a sippy cup full of juice down next to it, Samantha began to pick at her salad, eating just a bit of it. There were dark circles around her eyes from the adventure of the night before and as much as Samantha needed her sleep for her job, she didn't care because Maddox is what mattered most in the world to her. Maddox and Danielle were her entire universe.

Smiling ever so slightly, Samantha took a large drink of her water as she watched her daughter pick up the hot dog piece by piece and eat it. "Is that good, baby?" Sam asked and when her daughter nodded her head and took another bite, Samantha laughed and began to eat more of her salad as she waited for Maddox to come down to eat his lunch.

Maddox had been a walking nightmare since the depression had started. He just couldn't take it anymore and wanted to ridden of it. He was wearing Samantha down completely and his daughter was afraid of him. A life like that wasn't one that Maddox could bear to live. Although he had spent majority of the morning upstairs in the bedroom he shared with Sam, he had snuck out back into the garage to try and work on the car he wanted to rebuild. He had only been out there for around a half an hour before he walked into a thick piece of wire hanging down from the ceiling. He had everything in there, and occasionally knocked stuff down on himself. Although the idea that he got from hitting that wire was one that stuck in his brain.

Maddox had taken a hold of the wire and then tugged on it, and once he found out it was sturdy he grabbed the folding chair that he kept in the garage and slid it under the wire. After carefully wrapping it into a noose he left it there for a short second before he took a few breaths. Maddox knew what he was doing was a rash decision but currently, he saw no other way out, and people would get on without him. Once he had decided on it, he slid his head through the hole and then tightened it slighlty against the warm flesh of his neck. Once he took another deep breath, he made himself move off of the chair, and then kicked it away once he had fallen and the wire tightened.

The one issue was that the rope didn't break his neck and for a few moments he hung there, struggling. Although, once he couldn't breathe anymore he had blacked out and then just hung in the garage.

It had been a good fifteen minutes and Maddox had told Sam he was coming down so instantly, she began to worry. "Once you're done, go upstairs and get dressed, Dani," Sam instructed as she rose to her feet and took her plate with her into the kitchen. After raking it out and placing her plate into the sink, Samantha made her way back upstairs to the room she shared with Maddox, where he had been earlier. When she didn't find him upstairs or in the bathroom, she made her way out the back door to search for him further. Samantha went to the one place where she knew Maddox had been spending the majority of his time lately, the garage where he was restoring a vehicle. The instant Sam touched the door, she had an eerie feeling pulsate through her body, a feeling that sent her Wiccan genes to fire inside of her, she knew something was wrong. Bursting through the door, Sam fell to her knees with wide eyes at what she saw before her. It only took an instant for her to stop, rush to her feet and over to Maddox when she realized he could be saved.

Quickly, Samantha unclasped the wire from around her lover's neck and even though she couldn't stop it when he fell to the ground, she was down off the chair in an instant with her cell phone pulled from her pocket. "God damn it, Maddox what the hell are you doing to me?" She frantically asked no one in particular as she pressed 911 on her cell phone and put the phone to her ear as the tears began to stream down her face.

It didn't take long for her to explain to the operator what had happened and when they informed her that an ambulance was on its way, Sam dropped the phone and placed each of her hands on Maddox's face before pulling him into her lap, cradling him as if he were a baby. "Please don't leave me, please don't leave me baby. You can't leave Dani, you can't do this to me!"

The EMT's had arrived at the house within minutes along with a few police cars. They had rushed back to the garage with a stretcher and pulled Maddox from Sam's arms. With skill and speed, the EMT's had put Maddox onto a stretcher and then inserted an oxygen tube through his nose to make his breathing stronger. The fact that they didn't know how long he had been out for was scary and no one knew if he had brain damage or what. When they rushed Maddox back to the ambulance he was slid into the back of it and then the doors slammed as they jumped back into the front and began to speed to the hospital.

Although, a few police officers had remained at the scene to take evidence and then walked up to Sam. "Ma'am, I hate to question you now, but we need to get some things taken down and be informed of any other relatives that need to be called in order so that they can go to the hospital."

Sam watched in awe as the EMT's and police officers arrived at the scene. Her eyes were still somewhat wide and her entire body was shaking. The only thing on her mind was that she was afraid of how she and Danielle would go on if something happened to Maddox. What if this morning was the last time she would ever see his body full of life? What if last night was the last time he would hold her tight through the night? Sam had to quickly jerk herself from the daze she was in to answer the officers in front of her when he began to talk to her. "Uh, um...just...just his mother, Morgan Ipswich," Samantha finally stammered out as she let her eyes follow the ambulance as it sped down the street.

It was then that Sam realized she had left Dani inside alone for far too long. "I...my daughter's inside, if you'll excuse me," In a still somewhat dazed like state, Samantha went inside to find her daughter laying in bed watching cartoons upstairs. After scooping her little girl up in her arms, Samantha gave her forehead a tender kiss. "We have to go somewhere, baby. Let's get in the car." Within minutes, Sam had rushed Dani out to the vehicle in the front yard and then buckled her in her seat. She had to hurry to the hospital, she didn't want to be away from Maddox any longer.

Slater had just hung up the phone and turned to face Morgan who was laying in his bed, waiting for him to return. His face would've looked like it was blood-less if he was human and he slowly crept back over to the bed where Morgan lay. The police just informed him that Maddox had attempted to hang himself and was currently being transported to the hospital inside of Rockland. "Morgan, baby," Slater started, his voice cracking somewhat. "Maddox is currently in the intensive care unit in the town's hospital. He tried to hang himself in the garage and Sam found him."

As soon as Morgan heard the words leave Slater's mouth, she gaped at him as if she didn't believe what he had been saying. There was no way her son could commit suicide, it just wasn't a part of who he was. Maddox had always been so happy and loved his life with Sam, up until recently where he had made a completely one hundred and sixty turn. That stupid post traumatic stress syndrome had to be to blame. "We've got to go," Morgan said simply as she rose to her feet and began to scramble around the room, putting on whatever clothing she could find as fast as she could find it.

Within minutes, Sam and Danielle pulled up into the parking lot of the Rockland hospital. Sam hardly paid attention to where she parked and dashed inside as quickly as she could. After being directed to where she could wait, Samantha took a seat in the waiting room near the ICU unit within the hospital, anxiously waiting for any news from the doctor on Maddox's condition.

Slater watched as Morgan pulled on a pair of his sweatpants and then one of his shirts and followed her out of the house. With a slight jog Slater had jumped into the driver side of the Jeep that was in the driveway and then sped off towards the hospital once Morgan had climbed into the car. Once they had reached the hospital, he took her hand and then spoke to the woman at the front desk and was directed to the waiting room. Once they had reached that, Slater had pulled away from Morgan slightly to pick up Dani who had run over to him. Now all they could do was wait and see how Maddox was doing.

As soon as Samantha saw Morgan and Slater enter the waiting room in front of the ICU, she rose to her feet to watch Dani run over to Slater. Morgan immediately embraced Sam and Samantha wrapped her arms around her future mother in law, the tears still swelled up in her eyes. "I shouldn't have left him alone, he's been so depressed lately, I should have known something like this would happen," Sam murmured as she let her eyes slip closed. Morgan then reassured Sam that it wasn't her fault and it made Samantha feel ten times better. Sighing, Sam pulled away from Morgan and took a seat next to her. "I guess all we can do now is sit and wait...and hope."
