As Delilah stood in front of the wall length mirror that covered her closet doors, she examined her attire closely before heading out. It wasn't often that Delilah spent time outside the mansion but tonight she seriously needed it. Since Gage's death, Delilah had been all business and no play, until tonight. It had only been three weeks since the accident that cost Gage his life and at first, Delilah blamed herself for not being there to save him but now she moved on. Just as she had with every other man in her life. Delilah was beginning to wonder if she would ever find a mate for life or if she was meant to be alone.

It wasn't fair to watch everyone else be happy and enjoy time with their significant others when she had been in love with six men over her existance, all of which ended in death. It was like a bad omen that threatened to continue reoccuring. Delilah wondered, if she ever found someone again, would he die as well? She was only giving this one last chance.

Delilah quickly pulled her mind from thoughts of Gage and focused on her appearance in the mirror. After all, tonight wasn't about finding a man, it was about forgetting them and just having a good time. Maybe even feed and she was definitely going to have a lot of drinks. After glancing at herself from head to toe, Delilah smiled in satisfaction. On her flawless body, she wore a bright hot pink dress that seemed to shine against her olive toned skin. The black, strappy stilettos that worked their way up her calves gave her even more height than she already posessed.

Once Delilah had picked up her small hand purse that matched her dress, she exited her room with a long leather jacket covering her attire. Delilah quickly made her way downstairs and on her way out the door, she called towards the kitchen where Toryn was with his family that she was going out.

Without waiting to hear what Toryn would have to say, which would obviously be shock, she made her way out to her black Lexus that was parked in the driveway. It only took about ten minutes before Delilah pulled up at a bar she knew all too well: Bar Anticipation. After killing the engine, Delilah climbed out and slid her keys inside her purse on her way up the sidewalk.

As Delilah moved, her heels made a small clicking sound with each step she took. Sure, Delilah could move silently and without a flaw, but after so many years of walking a certain way it was just the way she moved while in stilettos. Once inside, Delilah let her dark eyes wonder around the dimly lit bar before finding herself a seat at the bar, immediately ordering a Royal Flush drink to start herself off. Something strong would do the trick tonight.

Taven hadn't even been off of work for an hour before he went to a bar outside of town. He had to admit that he was one of the worst drinkers that someone could come by. His life hadn't been the greatest and he assumed that his father had deserted his children. No vampire could lie and say that they lost their children. That was impossible, or so Taven assumed. He would never question his beliefs and he had no intention of meeting his father, though he did long for his siblings.

His outfit as simple, something that he wore nearly every day. He wasn't a man of detail and preferred the simplier things in life. He wore a pair of stonewash jeans with a white thermal on and a red and black flannel with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He had on a black baseball cap and a pair of black, steel toed work boots. Taven had never been a clean shaven man and he had a large amount of light brown facial hair that ran from his hair line, around his jaw, across his chin and back up the other side. His hair was buzzed short and a bit darker than the facial hair.

Taven had patted his chest pocket to make sure his cigarettes were in there as he pulled the door open to the bar and then let it close quietly behind him. As he moved to the bar he shook hands with a few guys he had known from previous nights of drinking himself into oblivion and then moved to sit a few stools down from another woman at the bar. "Yeigermeister, keep it coming," Taven told the bar keep and watched as he nodded and filled the shot glass with the brown liquid.

Taven had downed two or three shots before he pulled the pack of cigarettes from his pocket and placed one in his mouth and then placed the pack on the bar. Once the smoke was in his mouth he pulled out an old, metal lighter and lit it as he took a drag. Once the cigarette sat in his mouth for a few good seconds he removed it from his lips and released the smoke through his mouth and nose as he pulled his hat from his head and ran his fingertips over his buzzed scalp.

Once the red-tinted drink was placed down in front of her, Delilah pulled it closer and placed a silver credit card down on the bar in front of her. "Just put it all on a tab," She informed the bartender as she swirled a straw around her drink, making sure it was all mixed together since the Jack Daniels tended to settle at bottom. Satisfied, Delilah picked her cup up and held the straw with her fingertips as she took a long drink, chugging almost half of it before setting it back down again.

With a heavy sigh, Delilah ordered two shots of tequila with lime and then let her eyes travel around the bar once again when a few more people had arrived. The first thing she noticed was a man who looked identical to Gavyn just a few seats down from her own at the bar. Of course, Delilah knew it wasn't Gavyn because he would have come up instantly to bother the hell out of his aunt. Once the shots of tequila were placed down in front of her, she slid down a seat so that she was now right next to the Gavyn look-a-like.

Delilah slid her drinks down with her and then grinned over at the familiar stranger, sliding one of the tequila shot over towards him. The brim of the glass was laced with salt and she held a small lime between her black fingernails. "So you look awfully familiar," Delilah murmured as she crossed her long, olive toned legs towards him and leaned forward, closer to him so that she could feed the lime to him once he had taken the shot.

Once Taven had placed his hat down on the bar he used his freehand to pick up another shot and then downed it in one gulp. Taven just wanted a night to relax and when he smelt another vampire, the woman a few seats down, he tensed up. Some vampires weren't all that friendly and he was sure he could handle any vampire that came near him. Taven wasn't a weakling or a pussy by far, he could hold his own despite how many foes challenged him.

When the vampire moved over to him and slid a shot in front of him he placed his cigarette back into his mouth. "I'm sure you don't know me, miss." Taven replied in the most polite tone he could muster. Taven was a gentleman, his shell just had to be cracked before you got that nice man out of him.

After he removed the cigarette he finally moved his eyes to face the woman and was at first taken aback by her beauty. He felt an overwhelming sense of humbleness around her and it was like just her beauty could control the masses, her voice wasn't all that better though. It called to the soul and was hard to ignore, despite how headstrong you were. After finally pulling his eyes away he titled his head back just a bit and blew the smoke from his mouth.

"Well then I guess you just look a hell of a lot like someone I know," Delilah murmured, her voice soft and low, just loud enough for the two vampires to hear. Delilah was not mistaken that he was Gavyn's brother, there was no way to look identical to someone and not be related. Delilah hadn't ever seen the boys, though she knew of their existance, not until recently when she met Gavyn. "My mistake." With a small smile, Delilah let her dark eyes wander down to the shot glass before him, wondering if he wanted to take it.

As she waited, she finished off the Royal Flush drink and pushed the glass forward for the bartender to make her another. Once she had returned her attention to the stranger, she gave him a small smirk. "Name's Delilah Walker, by the way. It's nice to meet you, Taven," Delilah let her chocolate tinted eyes switch to his face, watching and waiting for his reaction. Surely if she caught his attention this way, he would be freaked out. That was her intention, it would be quite amusing.

Delilah didn't see this conversation as hitting on her nephew at all, she was merely holding a conversation with him while overing him a drink. So what if he didn't know she was his aunt? It wasn't like she was about to take him home and screw him all night.

Taven had jumped, hopping off the stool once he had heard his name. He backed up quickly and knocked into a few stools, knocking them over and making a loud crash through out the bar. When all eyes were on Taven he glared at a few people and then dropped a ten on the bar and grabbed his cigarettes. The lady had creeped him out enough to make him leave, she should hit on another man in the bar, she didn't need him.

With a quick pace he pushed the door to the bar open and stepped out into the snow and moved to his truck. Taven had finally made it to his truck and moved to let his forehead rest against the ice cold window. Taven didn't react well to surprises or people freaking him out and he just needed to calm down. If his actually beat he was sure it would've skipped a few beats. With a shaking hand, Taven moved to place another cigarette into his mouth, and then attempted to lit it afterwards but his shaking hands prevented him from doing so.

Delilah sighed and rose from her spot on the bar stool. Perhaps that was a little much, Taven hadn't reacted the way she would have wanted him to. She left her things there, credit card included. Delilah planned to be back. Following his scent, Delilah arrived at his truck and tapped lightly on the window with her knuckles. After that, she pulled the door open and stared at him trying to light his cigarette. With pursed lips, Delilah took the lighter from his hands and lit the cigarette for him.

Once it caught and lit up, Delilah flipped the lighter closed and held it out towards him. "Okay maybe that was a bit too much. Didn't see you reacting like that," Delilah admitted as she waited for him to take the lighter. "Don't take it so seriously. It's part of what I do." With that, Delilah shrugged her bare shoulders and once he had taken the lighter, she adjusted her mini dress by pulling it up by the chest.

"Explain to me how that's fucking part of what you do!" Taven barked and took a drag of the cigarette to try and calm himself, the nicotine calming him slightly once he had finished the long drag. Once he was done he kept the cigarette in his mouth and then exhaled through his nose. He didn't understand people sometimes, especially other vampires, they weren't like him. He had issues that he brought over from his human life, immortality wasn't all that perfect.

"Because right now you seem like a God damn stalker." Taven whispered as he finally removed the cigarette and then ran his freehand up and down his face slowly.

Delilah laughed and rolled her eyes at Taven's presumptions. "I'm not a stalker. It's just a power I have, what can I say? I can get into your mind," Delilah explained, as if it were no big deal. Technically, she wasn't lying because her power did involve getting into the mind. Delilah could delve deep within someone's mind and find their fantasies at that time then make them appear as if they were happening before their very eyes, when in reality they weren't.

"Usually it turns out just to be funny but hell, I've never had that sort of reaction, especially from a vampire." Delilah still couldn't believe he had reacted that way. Most vampires jumped immediately to the conclusion that it was part of that vampire's power.

"I don't like being around other vampires." Taven said simply and then turned to stare over at her. It was snowing, so the least he could do was let her get in the truck with him. After sliding over into the middle of the truck and motioned to the empty seat now next to him. "You," Taven started and then stuttered just a bit, another thing he brought over from his human life. He stuttered like a bitch sometimes. "You can sit if you'd like." He finally told her, placing the cigarette back into his mouth. Whenever something like that happened to him, Taven couldn't blame his father for not wanting him, no one wanted a fucked up kid.
