It had only been two months since Celeste and Toryn had gotten back together. Although they were obviously a couple once again and still loved each other, things hadn't automatically snapped back to the way it once was before the split. Neither Celeste nor Toryn knew how to fill that gap between them but since Celeste had discovered she was pregnant, that space had been filled almost completely. She and Toryn were expecting. It was a hard thing for Celeste to believe but it was what had brought she and Toryn back together after the break up. Now that she was five months along, they were anticipating the arrival of their baby girl and both were ecstatic. Celeste rolled over onto her side during her sleep and any movement, of course, woke up the very uncomfortable Celeste. She usually slept on her stomach but since she was so enormous, it was impossible to do so now. Celeste's eyelids fluttered and she opened them to stare over at Toryn's sleeping form next to her, smiling. Celeste then moved onto her back to fall back asleep and after only ten minutes or so of trying to sleep, Celeste jerked up in her sleep, clutching to her stomach with wide eyes. "Toryn," Celeste muttered, feeling an unusual amount of pain shooting through her stomach. Although Celeste didn't know a lot about pregnancies, she did know that it was far too early for contractions at five months. "Toryn!" Celeste was now frantic when she tried to move and it only got worse. |

Toryn had been sound asleep when he heard Celeste's screaming. He didn't know that she was in so much pain and his mind jumped to the first conclusion: She was in trouble. With a load roar like growl sounding from deep in his throat as he sat up he glanced around. When his hunter eyes locked on Celeste squirming in pain he slid down on his stomach next to her and ran his hand along her cheek. Toryn knew Dhampir babies came early, but not this early. With a loud sigh sounding from his lips he rose from the bed and grabbed his cell phone off the nightstand. After phoning James, he slid back into the bed and tried to comfort his lover. "Shh, Celeste, baby, help is on its way." Toryn whispered against her ear as he placed a tender kiss where the flesh of her ear met the flesh of her face. At this moment, Toryn wished that Idriel was here or someone who had healing powers was. Only Delilah and Matthew lived here now and neither of them could heal with their powers, though they were up, Toryn could hear them running down the hall together. |

Celeste shook her head back and forth in a quick manner as she let her hands grip firmly at her large stomach, along the lower half of it where her night shorts lay. "Something doesn't feel right," Celeste ranted, her dark eyes showing just how scared she was right before she cried out even louder in pain and clutched forward in a small ball like, fetal position. When blood soaked the bedsheets beneath her, Celeste's eyes welled up with tears beneath her closed lids. As the tears trickled down her cheeks, she became very pale and leaned against Toryn heavily, allowing him to hold her close to his body. It just hurt so much that she didn't move anymore than just that. The pain was unbearable and all she wanted was to know that their baby was okay because right now, it seemed as if she wasn't. Celeste wasn't nearly as worried about herself as she was for their unborn child. Delilah quietly slid in through the door when she smelt blood down the hallway and her eyes immediately shot to Celeste and then the sheets beneath her. "James just pulled up in the driveway," Delilah whispered but kept herself composed for her brother. "I'll go get him." With that, Delilah shot down the stairs and out to the front porch where James was getting out of his car. |

Once Toryn had smelt the blood his eyes shot open extremely wide. He knew what that meant and so did everyone else in this house, though he wasn't so sure Celeste did. Despite the fact that Toryn knew he probably lost his unborn daughter, he kept himself together for Celeste. His hand ran through her dark hair slowly and he closed his eyes. "Shh, baby, the pain will go away soon." Toryn comforted and when he smelt Matthew enter the room he turned to him. "Go get some fucking towels!" Toryn barked at his nephew and then turned back towards Celeste. James darted up the steps with Delilah, though before he entered the room, he gaver her a look. He knew what the blood meant, and he knew that his daughter and son both did. With a quiet sigh, James twisted the door knob and slid into the room, letting the door swing open behind him. James had placed his hand on his son's shoulder and watched as he rose from the bed, moving away from Celeste. "Toryn, maybe you should go speak with your sister." James encouraged as he sat on the end of the bed. James had let his ice blue eyes glance to the blood all over the sheets and took notice of the fact that Celeste had a complete miscarriage. In a few moments the cramps would stop as if they had never happened and Celeste would no longer be with child. |

Eyes wide and a frantic look on her face, Celeste's dark eyes darted to Toryn when James asked him to leave. She didn't want Toryn to leave, the pain was beginning to make her shake and she thought it would never end, she needed him here to hold her. "Don't leave me, please," Celeste pleaded quietly as she doubled over in pain once again. However, after this time, the pain began to subside at an alarmingly quick rate before disappearing completely as if nothing had happened before. "Wait..it stopped. What happened? Is the baby okay?" Celeste asked as she glanced down at all the blood and when she saw just how much was there, she realized there was no way their daughter could have survived that. "Did....did I lose her?" |

James sat there for a very long moment before he moved his eyes to her face. "I'm so sorry, Celeste." James said with a tone of sorrow and sighed loudly. "We all knew you were pregnant before the fight happened and the stress must've put so much pressure on you that you lost the child. I doubt it has anything to do with your body, though I want you to come in Monday with Toryn." James told her and then rose from the bed and pressed his lips to his daughter-in-law's forehead. "You can always try again, Celeste." James offered and then stepped out of the room. As he moved into the hallway he watched Toryn enter the room once more with swollen eye sockets. |

Once Toryn had stepped back into the room, her eyes locked on his as the tears came streaming down her face once again. She couldn't believe that had just happened so fast. In a month, her child with Toryn had grown to the age of a five month old fetus inside her and within minutes, it was gone. Celeste was in shock. She would have given her life for her baby girl and now that she was gone, Celeste felt helpless but she knew she needed to get up and get cleaned up because this disturbed her beyond belief that she was pretty much sitting in remnants of her baby girl. "I..." Was all Celeste choked out as she tried to think of what to say but instead when Toryn came close, Celeste shot to her feet and clung to him with her arms tight around his neck. Her body was weak and quite limp from the shock and aftershock of the pain. |
