It had not been long since Riley and Abraham had become engaged to one another. The time they spent together only increased once he had proposed and now that Riley was eighteen, there was nothing standing in their way. All that needed to happen now was graduation, which would happen in a short couple of months. After that, Riley and Abraham were free to wed at last. Riley couldn't wait to take his last name. Riley Parker. It had a certain ring to it that Briggs didn't hold. However, in the process of planning a wedding, a certain sadness was brought about with it. Riley missed her mother, not a day went by that she didn't think about her and now that she was planning the wedding to her prince charming, another woman's opinion would have been highly appreciated. Or even her brother's opinion but since being turned, he was nowhere to be found. Riley sighed and glanced down at the mass amount of books sprawled out in front of her at Abraham's kitchen table. She had missed a lot of school by either skipping with Abraham or being too lazy to get out of bed after a night of fun or simply staying up late talking. Riley had a lot of make up work to do and after school, she had gone immediately to Abe's house, which is where she spent most of her time anyways. Life was...needless to say perfect. |

Abraham had been in the back splitting wood all morning after he had got home from the home goods store. Abraham didn't have a job so most days were spent doing small odd jobs around the house or just sitting. Abraham's days mostly consisted of reading, watching television, smoking, and drinking. He never really had anything better to do while Riley was in school. Some days Abraham ran to Portland to pick up wedding planning books for Riley and other things she needed him to get, but other than that he sat. Abraham didn't mind sitting most of the day. He had all the time in the world. He reffered to himself as a cockroach. Nothing, not even a nucular bomb, could kill him. He couldn't wait for the day until Riley would be just like him. Although, before he did that, he had promised to get her father's blessing and find her brother. Abraham never lied to Riley and would uphold his promise, no matter what. Abraham just didn't know where to start. He had only met this brother once and he tried to kill him, after that, he had run away and now Abraham was left without options. When Abraham had a large stack of wood he whistled sharply and watched the two Husky's he had bought for Riley come running from the woods. Riley had once commentted that she wanted a dog and so Abraham took the liberty of getting her two for her birthday. One was white and black with blue eyes and the other was brown and white with green eyes, they were like their children. When the dogs followed Abraham into the house he quickly moved to the area where he kept the firewood by the fireplace and then moved over to where Riley sat. "How's the homework coming?" Abraham asked as he lent on the table after he tossed his shirt into the laundry basket near the stairs to the basement. Edited by Abraham Parker, Mar 24 2009, 08:18 PM.

Riley looked up at Abraham once he had entered the room and leaned on the table next to her. Giving him a bright smile through her thick, jet black bangs, she sighed. "Well, I'm almost done if that counts for anything," Riley began as she glanced over at their dogs. "How's my babies?" Riley then slapped the side of her thigh a few times and once she had, they both came running over to her side. Riley chuckled and kissed the top of each of their heads. They were almost as big as she was by now but they were still her babies. She loved them as if she had Abraham had made them together. "I've only got English Literature left to go." Scarlett had never searched for the children from her second marriage but not because she didn't love them, because she only ever assumed them dead, rotting in the ground with all the rest of her family. However, just a few weeks ago Scarlett had seen in the paper an engagement announcement with one Abraham Parker and Riley Briggs. Scarlett had immediately begun to search for the address to Abraham's home and once she found it, she was in shock. Abraham was really alive and that only offered one explanation: he had to be a vampire, just as she was. Scarlett pulled up into the driveway of a small home on the outskirts of town. It was a cute, cozy little home and it made Scarlett smile. She could certainly see her Abe living somewhere like this, he was always such a simple boy who never needed the finer things in life. As Scarlett shut off her car, she took in a deep breath, as unneeded as it was and made her way up to the front porch. Without further hesitation, Scarlett rang the doorbell and waited for someone to open the door on the other side. Edited by Riley Briggs, Mar 24 2009, 08:32 PM.
