Tears don't fall

Samuel had slowly moved to the door after tossing the television remote to the bed next to him. Gabriel was in the other room doing whatever with his girlfriend and Samuel couldn't be bothered right now. After pulling the door open his ice blue eyes widened. "Mom," Samuel said and then held the door open wider. "Come in, come in." Samuel had closed the door behind his mother and then let his eyes trail over her. "What's wrong?" Samuel finally asked her as he took her bag from her and placed it on the table near the television.

Gunner had found himself on a path that steered him back towards home after he smelt Scarlett disappear fully from his sinuses. Gunner had morphed back into human form once he had stepped through the open back door and grabbed a pair of boxers out of the laundry room. As Gunner went up the stairs to the bedroom he had he felt himself get dizzy and the walls close in. In the next second, black out. Gunner had just collapsed in the middle of the steps, his head resting on a step one away from the top and the rest of his limbs spread out on other stairs.

You're the sunlight on my face, and you're the one I can't replace.
Everything just seems to fall apart without a trace. I will be, and I will show.
Follow me, wherever I go. But that was so long ago, you assume that I've forgotten.
But how could I ever forget you, I know, I'm having trouble letting go.
Though it was so long ago. I was thinking back today, and I remember everything.
Like all the things we used to say.

"It's Gunner. He's fucking pissed off because I still love your father," Scarlett said simply, as if that explained it all before collapsing on the empty bed in the hotel room. She could hear two others in the next room but ignored it as she stared up at the ceiling. "I love Gunner too, though. I'm so confused but I know Valion won't ever take me back and if he did....how would things work? They didn't the first time and I care for Gunner far too much to hurt him or be without him."

Sighing, Scarlett glanced over at her son and shook her head. "What do I do? I'm like fucking torn in half."

Samuel rubbed his chin ever so slightly as he sat in the rolley chair next to the desk. "Do you remember that woman that I thought I was so in love with when I was sixteen? She was the daughter of one of the largest plantation owners and I thought I was love struck. Though, after she married Charles Winstead the fourth, I was heartbroken. Thought I'd never find someone else to be with, though after it I moved on. Realized I wasn't truly in love with her." Samuel explained to his mother and then folded his arms over his chest.

"I think you believe you still love Dad because he was your first love. Kind of like that summer love shit. All summer then it's gone and you think your life is over yet it hasn't actually begun yet. You still love Dad and always will, you're not in love with him. You're in love with Gunner, everyone can see that just by how you look at him. You look your eyes on his face and just stare at him like you've never seen someone like him before. And you're not staring at his physical structure, you're staring inside of him. Staring at that person that you love who is so extremely unique that he'd strike you so hard that you'd fall head over heels." Samuel continued to explain to his mother with a gentle smile.

"You are in love with Gunner and you know that. You view his children as your own and you never want to be with another man for as long as you live. If his life ends, so will yours. You're like a modern day version of Romeo and Juliet, no one wants you together yet you fight so hard to remain together and all that matters is the both of you, no one else does. I say that you calm down here for a few and then go back and talk to him. If you two are truly in love a fight won't pull you apart just like that." Samuel finished and then rose from the chair to sit next to his mother.

"You see, I just don't see how that's even possible," Scarlett began as she sat up slowly on her elbows and stared hard at her son. "I was with Val for a hundred years and for those hundred years, I thought I'd never be with another person for as long as I live and here I am again, thinking the same damn thing and I just fear the same thing is going to happen to me again. It's like a never ending cycle and I doubt I'll ever be able to be happy for thousands of decades to come. I just can't see that end."

Scarlett then sat up fully and crossed her legs at the ankles as her bare feet rest in the floor. "I can't stand this. I was happy and perfectly content with Gunner until Val came around again, until I found out he was living in the same town." Scarlett sighed, a heavy sigh of frustration. She could see where her son was coming from and it made perfect sense but she just couldn't see how that was going to happen right now when she felt so strongly towards Valion still.

"It's just hard for me to see right now, you know? When I think I love two men."

"Answers will come around soon enough." Samuel told his mother with a shrug and then glanced around the room. "That's all I got though, can't help you much more and Gabriel's male parts currently have all of his attention." Samuel stated as he rose from the bed and began to pace around the room. He didn't know what else to do or say to his mother, she'd have to come to terms with the rest on her own. After all, he'd never been in love with two people before.

Gunner had groaned as he slowly pushed himself back to his feet. Once he was up, his shoulders hunched over he moved one of his large hands to his throbbing head and he forced himself to move to the bedroom. Gunner didn't know what was wrong with him currently and the insane amount of rage that was still flowing through him from before was quickly coming to an end. But inside he still felt like Jonathan, like a monster. Once Gunner had made it to his bedroom he closed the door over slightly and then slid into the bed. Gunner felt his head throb once more with incredible pain and then blacked out once more.

"Thanks, honey," Scarlett said, feeling remarkably better as she rose to her feet. "I guess I need to go back home and talk with Gunner. Even though if he shoves me again, I'm going to tear him a new one." With that, Scarlett wrapped her arms around Sam's torso and gave him a tight, lingering hug. "I love you, you know." Scarlett added as she gave her son a kiss on his cheek. After smearing off the lipstick she left there, she chuckled. "Tell Gabe I was here and give him a kiss for me."

Smirking, Scarlett picked up her bag and made her way back out the door then downstairs to head home so she could hopefully speak to Gunner calmly, without insults.

When Gunner never came back around the front way, Morgan stormed inside and froze when she sensed him in there. "Gunner?" She called through the house as she made her way up the stairs and into the bedroom. "Oh shit. Gunner?!" Morgan shouted as she slid down on the bed next to him on her knees.

Without further hesitation, Morgan pulled her cell phone out of her pocket and dialed the number of the doctor she called dad.

James had slowly slid out from under Dahlia on the couch when he heard the house phone ringing and quickly moved to get it. After checking the caller ID he answered the phone with a smile. "Morgan," James said in a happy tone as he leaned against the kitchen counter. "What's up?" James asked his daughter and then waited for a response.

When Morgan had climbed on the bed Gunner groaned as he rolled over. Bad move. Gunner had fallen out of the bed and cracked his head on the night stand next to his side of the bed. The corner of the night stand creaked a thin slice that went from his forehead, through his eye brown and then continued for a few centimeters under his eye. That would be a nasty cut and an even better bruise. That slam had made Gunner shake out of his black out and his hands quickly moved to his forehead, which began to flow with blood as he groaned.

"Uh, hi dad," Morgan began and flinched when she saw Gunner fall off the bed. Quickly, she ran around the end of his bed and knelt in the floor next to him. "My son, Gunner, the lycan is acting very strange. He keeps blacking out and now he just fell off the bed without realizing he did it. I need help, I don't know what to do, I think something happened before this I'm not really sure."

Morgan quickly grabbed the nearest thing she could find, a dirty tshirt from the floor and pressed it firmly against the cut on Gunner's face.

Scarlett tracked her way through town and back towards the house she shared with Gunner. She just needed to talk with Gunner, they needed some serious time to sort things out and Scarlett only hoped he had calmed down as much as she had to talk normally. Once Scarlett arrived at her home, she realized Morgan was still there by the scent inside and sighed. She really didn't want a confrontation or a fight but regardless, she slowly made her way inside the front door.

"Don't touch it!" Gunner barked as he shoved Morgan's hand away and rolled over slightly. Gunner didn't want anyone touching the throbbing pain in his head and the large slice had just made the pain worse. He had never been in this much pain before.

"I'll be right over." James told his daughter and then hung up the phone as he dashed through his home with Dahlia and grabbed a few things that he may need and tossed them into a bag. "Morgan's son, Gunner, is sick. I'm going over there to help out and see what's wrong with him. Go start the car for me, will you?" James called through the house once he heard Dahlia rise from the couch.

"Not a problem!" Dahlia called back as she grabbed the keys from the table and made her way out the front door, down towards the car. After opening the door and starting the engine, she left the keys in it then got back out to sit in the passenger's side of the car. If James was going on a call, Dahlia would tag along just in case she was needed. Besides, it would be nice to see Morgan again.

After hanging up the phone, Morgan sighed and slid away from Gunner when he screamed at her. "James is coming over to help, he won't be long," Morgan comforted, watching Gunner as he writhed in pain. Just then, Scarlett entered the room and when she saw Gunner laying there in the floor, she asked him what was wrong.
