Things had been quiet in the Wood household as of late. Maddox had moved out to be with Samantha and their new baby. Although Gunner missed his brother's company they saw each other almost everyday. Gunner, Maddox, and Mason were determined to keep the Wood family strong now that they all had a reason to stay alive and not become mindless animals. Things had also grown to a level with Scarlett that Gunner never had with his ex. They were constantly planning their wedding and Scarlett was always spoiling his three children. Alexander, James, and Taylor. The way Scarlett was with them always made Gunner smile whenever he saw them together and he was happy that they had all finally found a happy medium in their lives. A day hadn't gone by that Gunner admitted that he'd never suspect himself so happy with a vampire. He would've never guessed it. Though his past lover was a human all his children were Lycans and he had planned on either settling down forever with another human or maybe a Lycan. Vampires just defied the rules, or so Gunner thought. Their meeting definately wasn't planned but after spending countless days and weeks together the relationship quickly formed and now Gunner had never been more in love. He felt like a teenager again. Though he hadn't been that way in hundreds of years. Gunner just couldn't wait for Scarlett to take his name and the day that they became husband and wife. It'd be perfect in his opinion. Gunner had slowly risen from the chair he sat in and made hs way through the house, searching for Scarlett's scent. Gunner had found her in the bathroom and twisted the knob, finding the door unlocked, and then stepped inside. Gunner had just left the door open seeing his children were with their mother for the day and he moved to sit down on the toilet across from the bathtub after putting the lid down. Gunner had let his eyes trail over the parts of his fiance's body that were exposed and then cleared his throat. Gunner hadn't been feeling well lately, still kind of banged up from the fall he took not too long ago, but there was something else that bothered him. Something in the back of his head. "Hey, baby," Gunner whispered quietly, leaning foward slightly as he rested his elbows on his knees and placed his face in his hands slightly. |

Scarlett and Gunner's life had moved on relentlessly without a single problem to stop their perfect happiness. It seemed as if life with Gunner was going to be absolutely flawless and married life had to only get better. Scarlett, in her wildest dreams, would have never imagined herself settling down with a lycan but yet here she was, happier than she had ever been in her life. Gunner and his children were her world now and she would have it no other way. Now as Scarlett lay soaking in the bathtub full of bubbles, she could hear Gunner moving about the house. His every footstep sounded on the hardwood floors and she could hear even his breathing perfectly with her heightened senses from downstairs. Scarlett had been in the tub for a good twenty minutes now and her hair was soaking wet, freshly washed. Scarlett had returned from feeding not that long ago so the bath was much needed. When Scarlett heard Gunner nearing the bathroom door, she turned her head in the direction of it just in time to see him step through the door. With a broad grin, Scarlett sunk down into the water more and watched as Gunner took a seat on the toilet. "Hi babe," Scarlett murmured back as she sat up slightly. There was definitely something wrong with Gunner, Scarlett knew that and she had thought this for a long time now. It worried Scarlett to death but she didn't want to seem overprotective of Gunner, he was a man and knew how to take care of himself regardless of what was going on. "How are you feeling?" |

"Still kind of sick to my stomach." Gunner murmured quietly and folded his arms over his bare chest after adjusting the beanie on his head. "I think I may just go to bed in a few. Danielle called and said she's keeping the kids until Monday. So we have the rest of the weekend and such to hang out. Hopefully this cold is gone by then." Gunner contineud to murmur and then glanced around the bathroom. He felt so depressed and uncomfortable in his own home. Things had to start looking up for Gunner, they had to, he couldn't be eating himself away like this now. Gunner had slowly risen from where he sat and began to move around the bathroom slowly. After pulling open the medicine cabinet he took a few bills from the Advil bottle and swallowed them. After starting at his reflection for a short moment he quickly exited the bathroom without another word, extremely odd for Gunner. How could you let me die?! A voice screamed in Gunner's mind and he quickly moved to lean against the wall, shoving his hands into his head. Gunner had occasionally heard the voices in his head and just blamed it on himself, people did talk to themseleves, of course. You stupid pansy ass mother fucker! You knew that the sharp-shooter was there! Gunner had slowly began to ignore the voices as he pushed himself up to his feet and continued down the hall, slamming the bedroom door behind him and locking it. |

Scarlett only continued to lay in the bubble bath for seconds after Gunner had exited the bathroom. She was quite confused as to how he had been acting lately, Scarlett just knew something was wrong and it worried her almost constantly. Scarlett immediately pulled the plug from the bottom of the tub and stood up. After grabbing a towel from the floor, she wrapped it around herself and followed her fiance out into the hallway. When Scarlett saw that he wasn't there, she made her way back towards their bedroom, her hair still dripping wet. Once Scarlett stopped in front of their bedroom, she tapped lightly on the closed door after noticing that it was locked. No sound came from the other side and so Scarlett leaned her forehead and hands against the door, sighing. "Gunner, what's wrong, sweetheart?" Although Scarlett truly knew what was wrong, he was sick and had been ever since the accident. He needed help and Scarlett was afraid to mention that to Gunner since he was such an independent man. "I think we need to talk about what to do. I think maybe you need to go see a doctor about all these symptoms. I'm not sure what it is but it's worth a shot to talk to someone about, right?" |

See? Even your damn woman doesn't want you! No one ever will! Gunner had pushed away the voices as he slowly rose to his feet and unlocked the door. Gunner had twisted it open and acted as if nothing was wrong by scooping his woman into his arms and carrying her bridal style to the bed they shared. Gunner had dropped her down and gave her a small smile before he placed a tender peck on her forehead. Gunner refused to go see a doctor. He was fine, he always lived through things, he'd live through this. "It's probably the flu, it'll pass in a few days." Gunner shrugged the doctors visit off just like that and then moved to sit on the bed next to Scarlett, adjusting his jeans before he had done so. It seemed like the voices and the shaking came and went like it was nothing and he knew all the voices which was odd. Every voice he knew was of a dead person. "Can we talk?" Gunner asked Scarlett and placed the remote to the television on his chest as he glanced over at her. |

"We can talk about anything, you know that" Scarlett replied, her voice barely above a whisper as she slowly sat up, still clutching her towel to her body with one hand. It was so strange the way Gunner was acting lately. One minute he seemed to be spazzing out and the next, he was just fine, the Gunner she knew and loved. It was a scary thought to think that something might be wrong with her fiance. Scarlett wasn't going to easily let this go, either. She would bring it up again and again until he finally decided to go to the doctor with her. Scarlett then slid across the bed to sit next to Gunner, as close as she could get to lay her head down on his shoulder. "I love you, you know," Scarlett whispered as she waited for what Gunner wanted to say or ask. |

"I know, I love you too." Gunner responded before he moved one of his arms to wrap around her body and then stared down at her. Gunner had been wanting to ask this for a while, and seeing they had been engaged for almost seven months and together for almost a year he felt that maybe they could handle that leap. Gunner really didn't know how she would react to the question. All he did was swallow hard and then let his jaw lock before he released it slowly. "I was thinking about having a baby with you, Scarlett." Gunner murmured and kept his hazel eyes locked on her face. Gunner knew Scarlett had three children of her own hundreds of years ago but none as of now. Gunner felt it'd be good for their relationship, but then again, money was an issue and with four kids around he didn't know if they could handle that without him having to go back into the service. |

Scarlett felt a small smile gradually creep across her face at the question Gunner had asked. All of a sudden this changed everything she had been thinking before. Apparently he was in some sort of right mind to be asking something as major as this. "Gunner, I think I'd love to have a child with you. I'd love to have hundreds of children with you but I just want to make sure you're ready too but I say let's go for it!" Scarlett then ignored the hold she had previously held on her towel to leap onto Gunner, knocking them both back onto the bed with her on top of him. Scarlett loved children and it had been too long since she had any of her own. Ever since...Valion. Scarlett thought Gunner's children were great and all but it would be nice to have some of her very own. |

Gunner had smirked before he pulled the fitted cap from his head and hung it on the headboard to the bed they shared. Gunner had pressed his lips to hers in a passionate manner. Gunner's hands began to trail down her bare back as he forced her chest against his. It had been only two years since Gunner had gone through this process to have children, but he knew that it'd be more loving now. He and Jessica had just gotten married because there was no other step to take and then children came along. Gunner loved his children to death, but they were really only wanted by him. |

Scarlett reached in front of herself and unknotted the towel that was loosely hanging around her. Once she had done that, she slung it off of her body and to the side. Scarlett then grinned down at Gunner as she spread her legs to straddle her lover. "I love you," Scarlett whispered, grinning even wider as she leaned down to press her lips firmly and passionately to Gunner's. This would be the first time the two had enjoyed sex without the silly interruptions of condoms. It would be nice and the thought that they were doing this for the end product of a child was even better. Scarlett couldn't wait to be a mother once again. |
