It had been only three months since Idriel's near death experience had resulted in the discovery that she and Valion were going to have a baby. Only three months and Idriel was already about to pop. A vampire pregnancy had flown by a lot faster than the normal, nine month pregnancy Idriel had been expecting. Now as Idriel laid upon the couch downstairs, she had her feet propped up on the coffee table in front of her and her hands resting lightly on top of her bulging stomach.

Idriel had gained a lot of weight and fast, it was quite a shock to her body so her back was always aching. As was her legs and especially ankles. Needless to say, Idriel laid around a lot, relaxing and prepping her body for a labor that might be harder than she expected as well.

Idriel glanced around and sighed. She hated relying on Valion for absolutely everything and so sometimes, she forced herself to take matters into her own hands. Times like this. Idriel was hungry once again and Valion was nowhere near. Idriel rocked back and forth a few times before pulling herself to her feet to practically waddle into the kitchen.

All the food that was placed inside was kept mainly for her, seeing as how Valion needed nothing but blood and an insane amount of alcohol. After pulling open the refrigerator door, Idriel let her blue-green eyes scan the contents within. There wasn't much inside that she was in the mood for so Idriel opened the freezer door instead and peaked inside. Ice cream.

With a grin, Idriel pulled the chocolate carton of ice cream from the freezer and closed the door with her hip. Idriel grabbed a spoon quickly and then made her way back to the living room where she had sat most of the morning, waiting for Valion to return.

Valion had mostly spent his mornings out hunting. Since Idriel had grown a lot faster and needed him more, he fed every single day to ensure supreme amounts of strength and the ability to step out into the light if she ever needed him to run to the store. It had been pretty quiet though. As long as he kept the house stocked with sweets they were good to go. Idriel had every kind of sweet as a craving during her pregnancy. Valion was sure he spent almost half of his funds on ice creams, cakes, and candies.

Instead of running through the forest to get a meal in town, Valion had driven to the outskirts to get a simpler meal and one that would draw less attention. After catching his prey and devouring it almost instantly, he had hopped back into the silver Porsche and began to speed home. Even though he could drive at insanely fast speeds without risk of an accident, the sun had already risen and he was sure Idriel was up and about. That thought made him worry about what she'd be up to at the small country home they shared.

When Valion had driven the car up the driveway at a quick pace, he stopped it right near the porch steps and twisted the brass knob to the front door before it opened. Valion had known she was up before he even walked in the door. He could hear her heart rapidly beating outside. She must've just gotten up and done something. He thought to himself and then kicked the door shut and smiled, his lip ring tightening against his marble flesh.

"Good morning, sweetheart," Valion whispered and moved over to place a tender kiss on her forehead. The small look that she had given him as she devoured her ice cream almost made him want to laugh. Valion was never in bed in the morning when she got up and she often ranted about she wouldn't ever wake up to his face and that he'd be in a lot of trouble if he did that on their wedding night.

When Valion stepped inside the home they now shared together and gave her a small peck, Idriel shot him a playful glare. She hated how he was always gone in the mornings. As soon as she woke up, he was nowhere to be found when all she really wanted was to roll over and wake him for once. "I'm glad you're such a morning person," Idriel began as she held a spoonful of chocolate ice cream in her hand. "Because that means you can get up with Amiah every single morning."

Idriel chuckled and stuck her tongue out at him before shoving the plastic spoon into her mouth. Idriel then scooped up another spoonful and continued eating. "I know, I know, you have to feed or you'll try to eat me again." Idriel smirked and then patted the empty spot on the couch next to her, indicating he should sit.

Idriel put the lid on the carton of ice cream and placed the spoon on top of it. After placing it on the coffee table, she moved her legs to rest her feet in Valion's lap once he had taken a seat next to her. Idriel was eager for the birth of their daughter and wondered how long it would be though they both knew it was any day now.

"You know I'd fight you if you wouldn't let me get up with my baby girl every single morning." Valion told Idriel honestly and slowly moved one of his large hands to her stomach. Valion was practically glowing. The fact that Idriel was carrying his baby and he was going to have another child was amazing to him. The three remaining children from Valion's past marriage were all grown up now and off doing their own thing, which was hunting Strigoi's around the world.

Valion knew his ex-wife was here in Rockland though he hadn't seen her at all. The town was surely too small for either of them to miss one another but aparently, they had. Valion hadn't cared much, she was engaged and so was he. They were moving on and from what he heard, she had three children already. Valion wasn't the type of man to harbor ill feelings toward an ex and was happy for her. As long as she was happy was all that mattered. Plus, there was nothing bad about Scarlett, she had raised their children right.

When Valion was brought from his thoughts with a firm kick felt through Idriel's stomach, he smiled and lent closer to his fiance to place a tender kiss along her jawline. "In less than a day it's going to be you, me, and Amiah. You know that right?" Valion asked her with a huge, dimpled smile plastered on his flawless face.

Idriel grinned, a bright, broad grin as she locked her eyes on Valion's face. After placing her hand on top of Valion's, she gave his hand a gentle squeeze as Amiah kicked fericiously inside her stomach. Amiah wanted out and wanted out now. Idriel couldn't wait to meet her and she knew Valion felt the same way. "I can't wait to meet our little girl."

Idriel leaned back against the pillow behind her back and closed her eyes, yawning. Idriel had been feeling uncomfortable all day and she knew she had to tell Val the truth. "Val, baby...I...I haven't been feeling right all day. I'm in pain on and off and I don't know, it just doesn't feel right," Idriel explained as she opened her eyes ever so slightly to lock them with Valion's pale green eyes once more. "I didn't think anything of it because of all the problems we've had but this is..different."

Idriel readjusted herself on the couch and sighed. "I'm not comfortable and..." Idriel trailed off, eyes wide as each of her hands moved instantly to her stomach. "Llie n'vanima ar' lle atara lanneina." A white glow emitted from her fingertips to ease the pain. "I think I'm going into labor..."

"What?" Valion asked frantically as he jumped up from the couch. Valion had darted off into the kitchen and picked up his cell phone as he clicked the speed dial for Alistair. When Alistair had picked up, his tone groggy, Valion knew he had woken him up. After an apology Valion explained what was going and Alistair said he'd be right over right away. With that, Valion sighed and moved back into the living room.

"I'm gonna take you upstairs, sweetheart." Valion whispered against Idriel's sensative ear and then craddled her into his arms and carefully carried her up the stairs into their bedroom. Once they were there, Valion had gently placed her down on the bed and then scooted onto the soft mattress next to her. One of his hands found her pale blonde hair and he began to gently run his fingers through it.

"Alistair said he was on his way over, it'll be okay." Valion told Idriel quietly and placed a tender kiss on the side of her head.
