The weekly reminders for all members-I guess you could say a webzine of sorts. ((We need some kind of catchy webzine name! Please PM your suggestions to me, Kalyst or one of the other officers. You can tell who they are because they are classified as Admins on this website.)) Issue # 1 Contents 1. Important Announcements/Weekly Reminders 2. Anime/Gaming Related News 3. Personal Member News (NOTE-this is for B-days, vacation notices, absences for a certain period of time etc. PM the officers or tell them in person if you wish for others to know) !! IMPORTANT !! !! The Art Hop will be on October 17, 2009 from 5PM-9PM on Main Street They are desperately looking for volunteers. If you haven't done so yet, please go to the Merced Art Hop website and print out a volunteer form or see Mr. Blanchard for one. Become a part of Merced history in the making and represent the CAC well. !! Please come in on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 to pick up information on the October Halloween Festival. If you cannot make it and sign up for the haunted house you may not be able to get first pick on roles and may be relegated to doing booth service only. Or, if you still wish to do so, please see one of the officers or submit your name to Blanchard designating your interest by no later than Thursday, October 8. We need to make sure that we have everyone on board who would like community service hours, so don't miss out! If you still didn't get enough notification, please express your commitment ASAP. We will begin doing dress rehearsals with Merced High's JAS possibly as soon as next Friday. An emergency meeting may be held for those who are interested on Wednesday in VA2, but this is not a guarantee. Please listen to the announcements for more details. !! Our SSBB Tournament will be on October 16, 2009. Prizes- (?) $10 Gift Card to a place of your choice. Entry fees- (?) $1-2 to play and $.50-$1 to watch. Prices have yet to be decided so this is still in the works. But expect it to be pretty cheap to get in. !! Don't forget to turn in mangas that you've checked out-you have up to 2 weeks after the Friday you checked it out and then after that your are on obligation. !! Anyone who does not attend that signed up on Club Day after the October Festival may not be eligible for the SacCon trip in January. If you know someone who wants to be a part of the club but doesn't know about us yet or someone who can't go due to sports/band etc, please let the officers know so we can have them on our members list for consideration. The requirements for consideration have not been set but being active (unless you are involved ina sport or in band) is definitely something that works in your favor. More on qualifying for the trip TBA. !! Upcoming carwash might be in the works for October 17, but it is not finalized. Check back for more details or come to the meetings. Also, our upcoming fundraisers will be announced shortly after the SSBB tourney. The Toys for Tots Drive is being managed by Jessica Mello-see her for more details. There might be a day where a representative comes in to explain this drive so be aware of that if you'd like more info on it. |

Anime/Gaming News !! The New Kingdom Hearts game for the DS is arriving soon along with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon-Explores of Sky and even father along, the release of the G/S Pokemon remakes, Heart Gold and Soul Silver! Reserve your copies today at Gamestop and don't forget that they usually have a Power Trade condition in which you can get more out of your older games you don't want and put that credit towards your purchase. Wait for those Power Trades! Also, keep in mind that you can also download demos from a Gamestop location to try out new releases before they come out. (DS only) !! Oak's Letter is now available over Wifi for Pokemon Platinum. See the official website for more details! !! Baka Updates is a great site for downloading new animes as well as some underground stuff you wouldn't normally get. Please be careful though of the content you find as some may not be suitable for your age (though honestly, who follows the ratings anymore?) Just don't corrupt yourself too much. !! The new Magic the Gathering set is going to be launched soon so if you are a Magic the Gathering fan, be on the lookout for that. Yu-Gi-Oh is releasing another Limited Edition tin/series so get your hands on that if you're big on it. Pokemon now offers scholarships for their TCG tourneys so if your looking for a way to paying college while enjoying yourself this might be of interest to you. |
