Before writing a review check to make sure there is not already a review on the same anime. If there is then please just post your review under the already made topic for it. When writing a review please use the following format listed below. Just copy the format and replace with your own text. Reviews do not have to be long unless you wish to go into detail. Generally however the more detailed of a review you do, the more helpful the review will be to other people. Make sure the Review is put in the correct alphabetical letter category. Name the topic the exact name of the anime and check your spelling so people can find the anime. Thank you! Your review is much appreciated! ![]() Title: Year: Director: # of Episodes: Genre: Plot: xx/10 Characters: xx/10 Entertainment: xx/10 Voicing/Cast: xx/10 Animation: xx/10 Music: xx/10 Overall Average: Values from ratings above totaled together divided by 6 Questionable Content: If there is any questionable content in the anime such as excessive violence, gore, rape, etc. please mention them here. Plot Summary: Give a brief description of what the anime is about. Or if you're lazy just paste a link to the wiki page or copy the summary from another site. The Review: Write any comments you have about the anime overall. You can mention things that you liked or things that you didn't like. Just give a brief blurb about why you scored the anime the way you did. |

Here is an example of a review. Your review does not nearly have to be this long. A couple of sentences is adequate. Title: Ayakashi Year: 2007 Director: Jun Takada # of Episodes: 12 Genre: Action, suspense, supernatural, fantasy Plot: 6.8/10 Characters: 7.4/10 Entertainment: 7.0/10 Voicing/Cast: 7.5/10 Animation: 7.1/10 Music: 8.8/10 Overall Average: 7.43 (This would be considered a C anime or very mediocre) Questionable Content: -None Plot Summary: The series follows the story of a teenage boy named Yuu who has mysterious latent powers and a lost past. After the death of his childhood friend he has led a life of resentment. One day a strange girl named Eimu appears and explains to him the source of his power called Ayakashi, a parasitic life form that gives the host supernatural powers but drains their life force with use. Eimu heeds him to not use his powers but he ignores the warning wanting to use his powers to protect those he cares. As his powers awaken he begins to be hunted by a number of hosts and their Ayakashi. Yuu’s past is revealed and he learns he must fight what he fears. The Review: This anime is nothing extremely out of the ordinary in terms of plot and in relation to its genres. Though it’s a decent anime, on the whole it is somewhat disappointing. The plot starts out promising and keeps you on your seat but as the series progresses one feels it’s being dragged on and it loses its depth. The entire story attempts to build up to a climactic battle between the protagonist, Yuu, and the main villain, Kare, only for the battle to be relatively short and less dramatic and inspiring than the smaller fights in earlier episodes. The character development of this series is also weak in some aspects. The main protagonist Yuu is sometimes frustrating. Though he matures as the series moves forward, he’s nothing really special and it’s hard to see him as the main hero. Rather at times he is overshadowed by Eimu, another female protagonist. Within the series she’s the deepest character and the only one that’s fully developed. The central villain, Kare, ends up being a little flat and it’s hard to understand whether he’s meant to be hated or pitied. It’s explained that Kare once had good intentions but was consumed by his Ayakashi and became evil. As a viewer you want to feel bad for him but at the same time he’s a pretty pathetic villain and is generally annoying. Other characters introduced in the story seem pretty random or nearly useless as their sole purpose is for a single small role. There are too many side characters and small villains that it detracts from the main conflict of the series. This isn’t the worst anime but it certainly isn’t the best. The story had potential but it could have been done so much better than it was. |
