We watched a replay of video, pictures and interviews from 9/11 the other night. Horrifying and unbelivably tragic. It willl never be forgotten. :brokheart

Earlier in the day I sent messages to my step-daughter Laura and my friend Patti, who came so close to being lost and were fortunate enough to survive. I do this every year. Their stories are horrific. Their responses to me are of deep patriotism and love for family and country which are more pronounced since that day. My husband's cousin and my son's three friends, all firemen, did not make it back, but their families appreciate with all their hearts the prayers and thoughts like the ones expressed here today. :heart

Thank you Tennie. There are so many of us connected to that day - we all know someone
or were related to someone lost or nearly lost that day. It can happen to anyone. We
must always be vigilant and never, ever forget. Every time I visit my son in the city, and
my car turns the bend in the highway, lower Manhattan comes into view and something is missing in the skyline buildings - a constant reminder.

My thoughts and prayers also go out to the families who lost loved ones. My heart goes out to them. Your story, Carol, gave me the chills. Thank God your step daughter and friend made it home ok. I don't know anyone personally who lost loved ones. I'm so sorry to hear of the other losses of your husband's cousin and your son's friends. May their families stay strong and prayers go out to them.

I will never ever forget that day though. It is my son's birthday. Even if it wasn't his birthday it is a day I'll never forget. I was in my car listening to the radio at the very moment it happened and the news announced it. Very very sad and heart wrenching.
