I was heartbroken to hear of xxx4clay's death. We were great Clay-friends and concert buddies, and later on, just great friends. I will miss her terribly.

During Clay's first Spamalot run, she and I met in NY and attended several of his shows. She was in a great deal of pain, and we couldn't do all the extra sightseeing and shopping trips we had planned, but she always pulled herself together to be ready for the play. I saw first hand then how much she was going through and how incredibly brave and strong she was.

She said that no matter how badly she felt, she always felt great when Clay came on stage. She loved Clay so dearly, and I'll forever be grateful to him for bringing her so much joy. He'll never really know how much he has given to so many--just by being his own wonderful, talented self.

I know I’ll never plan or attend another concert (or Broadway show, if that happens) without thinking of Susan and remembering our trips, our shows, and all the fun we had. Even the last trip we planned, the December trip to NY for Spamalot, which Susan was too ill to make, was so much fun just in the planning. We e-mailed back and forth, spending days and days choosing a hotel, looking for tickets, grabbing great seats. She knew she might not be able to make the trip, but she eee’d and wheeeee’d with glee as we wove our wonderful plans. I’ve never had so much fun just making plans. For her, Clay was worth the gamble.

What Susan has left us is the gift of love, laughter and joy. She was a Clay fan for the joy of it all, and she never got caught up in the angst. She adored those who made her laugh, and Clay did that often. Her avi at CV was "Clay makes me smile..... always"
Susan, you made me smile, always, too. Love and laughter --the best gift of all.

Rest in peace, my friend. Clay has yet another angel. Heaven has taken far too many.

Jan - I just logged in here this evening and a thank you from me as well informing us of the passing away of XXX4CLAY.
I did not know her, but she sounds like such a dear person.

I felt very sad that one of our own CDBs had gone through hard times and then of her passing away. My heartfelt wishes go out to her family and to her dear friend, Brightstar.

Brightstar - thank you for sharing your sorrow and may xxx4Clay rest in peace.

Clay does bring so much happiness to so many people. He is such a beautiful person, inside and out. :rose :angel-praying
