Finally Ordered a New Computer

Yay! I visited my son and d/i/l on Sunday and actually got my son to order
a new Dell laptop for me - all over the phone! Believe me, I could not have
done it myself. He was on the phone at least 40 minutes discussing all
the why's and wherefore's of computers and what he thought would be
best for my use.

Geez, I've been waiting 4 months for him to come out to the 'burbs and
go computer shopping with me. Finally, I went into the city for a visit
with him and brought along a brochure I had received showing the sales
Dell had going on now. It will arrive via UPS in a few weeks and I will
be able to post from home again. I've been able to view CDB posts
at home, but not able to respond.

The irony is he and his wife just bought a brand new computer for home
with what looks like a 24" screen along with all the bells and whistles. The
keyboard is very slim and flat. They both use it for their respective jobs
so they went for top-shelf everything. After he showed it to me, that's
when I reminded him how much I miss my computer and what would HE
do if he didn't have one at home. I guess that got to him because he
then picked up the phone and called Dell. Ah....a mother's guilt trip
worked :smile
