Top 3 night, and I'm a little peeved that it's only 2 songs apiece and not 3. But the producers apparently don't care what I think. Whatevs. ROUND 1: Danny: Terrence Trent D'Arby is an ambitious choice for Paula. Especially since this is one of his songs that I don't know. Danny did a nice, solid job with this. There really isn't a whole lot more for me to say nearly an hour later, except as good as this was, it was a tiny bit on the forgettable side. Kris: Apologize is a song that really fits with Kris's tone. I think it was a good choice for him, though he didn't take any liberties with the phrasing and melody until the second half. I did like him behind the piano though. Adam: Hey, the blue light is back again! Another fantastic performance by Adam! Though for whatever reason, I wasn't quite as enthralled as I was when he sang Mad World or Tracks of My Tears. Still excellent though ROUND ONE RANKINGS: Adam Kris/Danny (though I think Krsi is a smidge higher since I like his song better) ROUND TWO: Ohhhh....Carrie's in Africa. So THAT'S why they cut 3 songs out. I guess that makes snesne, and it's good to get an update on IGB, but I still wish they would have more singing. Is that terrible? Danny: the song that a judge picked for Taylor in Season 5, and I must say, it's probably Danny's second-best performance, behind CROCS. I liked the guitar arrangement, though I could have done without the percussion and backup singers. As for vocals, this almost makes up for last week's Scream On. Almost! ![]() Kris: My first thought was " Kanye??? Is he bat$#!& insane???" If he is, he should be that insane all the time, because that was GREAT! Intimate, risky, funky, cool....do NOT call the finale just yet, people! Adam: Note to Mr. Gokey-THIS is how you scream rock and roll. THIS is how you sing a Steven Tyler ditty. To some, it might seem like a "safe" choice, but Adam has proved time and again that he can tackle some seriously hard songs and come out victorious. ROUND TWO RANKINGS: Adam/Kris Danny Once again, I honestly don't care who wins out of these three....However, I would really like to see a Kris/Adam finale, just to shake up the judges' and producers' dream. Everyone loves an underdog! That, and Kris's creativity has impressed me a little more than Danny's overall track record. |

His second song .Kris' first song I liked very much, and Paula I did not hear a bad note. Kris's second song....voice....guitar .Danny's first song I did not enjoy. His second song .Tonight for me was Kris. I rather see Danny go home, but I have a feeling it will be Kris . |

I just voted for two straight hours for Adam. Something I haven't done since Clay. I think it will be as Adam/Danny finale but Kris deserves it more just based on talent and the ability to sell records. I've listened to some of the studio versions of Adam's songs and they are amazing. He gets the difference between 'live performing' and 'radio ready'. I liked both of Adam's songs but enjoyed Crying more than One I didn't like Apologize very much but loved Kris' version of Heartless. I'm actually a little bit of a Kanye fan. I thought Danny would actually do better on a Joe Cocker song. The song is one of my all time favorites and I wish Danny had been put more emotion into it. His first song I only heard but didn't see. It sounded pretty good to me. I do think this will be the most exciting finale since Clay beat Reuben (even if Clay doesn't think he did) |

I just beeped Sandy4clay and told her I actually voted for Kris Allen. I called at least 100 or more times on all 3 phonelines it felt like 2003 all over again! ... I don't know how many times AT&T will accept calls coming in for certain contestants on American Idol but I voted the whole 2 hours getting as many votes in for Kris Allen as I could. He really put on 2 great performances and I pray he takes the title next week! I know he's got a tough competition with Danny and Adam but I really think if Kris works hard this week he will take it! I'm keeping my GOOD LUCK KRIS ~At the end of this I hope to find Kris as the 2009 American Idol ~Wendy Edited by krazy4clay09, May 13 2009, 01:09 PM.

I like Danny a lot, but Kris has shown himself to be so versatile, even though his voice probably isn't as great as the other guys', he is really talented and has "the look". It's going to be a great finale. Secret, I know what you mean about the article about Adam (I Heart Adam Lambert) he has quite an appeal to people of both sexes. |

I hope Jan doesn't mind but after reading the article regarding the next Top 3 contestants of AI9, I couldn't help but recopy this from the article. I personaly can't say what this person has already proclaimed about Kris Allen. I was so happy for Kris and I pray he will take the title. My mom and I couldn't believe after watching the 3 going home and how well they all were respected. My mom and myself thought that both Kris and Danny had most of the fan followers then Adam. In case you wanted to re-read what the article stated about Kris Allen. Here is the actual paragraph from the link Jan posted. As I stated earlier ,,, personally I believe Kris not only has the "look" of the American Idol, but he's got the personality of someone who will provide "the fans" with something they can remember for a long time to come ~ He and Clay Aiken are a lot alike but from two different seasons. (section I copied about Kris): Kris Allen last night cemented his well deserved reputation for being the polar opposite sort of singer. To Gokey's big ol' Mack truck, Allen is a shiny Vespa scooter -- more nimble to handle, better able to dart through traffic and discover surprising short-cuts. Consistently underrated and underestimated by the judges, even when he rocked the house with Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye tunes and delivered shivers with "Falling Slowly," Allen snuck up on his opponents -- and even amazed himself. Sure, he's easy on the eyes and exudes some attractive humility and poise. But cuteness only goes so far. Allen's musical range and imagination took him farther. Randy and Kara did him no great favors choosing One Republic's "Apologize" for his semi-final opener. It has the kind of melodic hook you can't get out of your head -- but once it's in there, it just rattles around. Allen sang it simply and straightforwardly at the piano, without obvious glitches -- despite Paula's possibly delusional comment about a "loud" clunker note -- but without much traction either. As rangy as his voice gets, the falsetto demanded here is not one of his strong suits. But in his own offbeat pick of Kanye West's half-rapped "Heartless," Allen reminded us of his singular gift among this year's brood: the talent to find something new and unexpected in a song, something that turns it into a fresh, buoyant discovery. Eschewing all the instrumental bric-a-brac the show can offer (to the point of overkill), he stripped down the arrangement of "Heartless" to his artful guitar work (the guy's terrific at finding sophisticated alternate chords and rhythms to garnish a familiar melody) and his expressive voice. He made the tune a mini-opera, conveying the "coldest story ever told" in two impassioned minutes that you could still savor on the third and fourth replay. The judges could not deny him that triumph, and they also can't change the fact that, on his own terms and making his own musical decisions, Allen may well become the most popular recording artist of the three finalists. In closing this I just would like to wish Adam and Kris ... good luck and I will be watching to see who comes out on TOP! I know theres going to be lots of media coverage on this and also talk show gossip so be prepared as to what will happen after American Idol comes to a close after crowning the best man for the title! Keeping my 4 Kris .. Good Luck ~Wendy Edited by krazy4clay09, May 14 2009, 01:08 PM.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Adam. I don't often connect with singers like I have done with Clay, but from the beginning I have connected with Adam. For me he has the It factor. It is so amazing how we are all so different in our likes and dislikes. Finally I have found someone else I'll spend a little money on. I was beginning to think I would never find another singer to be interested in. It's nice to feel a little spark again. Clay is the only singer up until now that has done that for me. I'm so glad many of us are showing an interest in these singers. I just wish our Clay would give us a concert or two. I sure miss him. Guess I'll have to wait for the gala. |

Found this post by accident at a Kris Allen site and just loved it. He's quoting part of someone's Blog.
This finale is going to be amazing. |
