Slash!!! You haven't changed a bit! WOw, solos AND duets....this should be fun.... Adam: I kinda figured he'd do GnR...Welcome to the Jungle would have been FIERCE. But boy, he was sure at home on that stage tonight with Zeppelin....I could see this on Rockstar: INXS or Rockstar: Supernova. He had the vocals, the swagger, the sneer....definitely a rock star. Awesome. Allison: Great song pic....not so well-known like Piece of My Heart, and it was vocally rock-licious and soulful. She does get a tiny bit defensive after her critique, but I don't blame her....the judges seem to want to nitpick at her no matter what. Kris and Danny Duet: Hmmm....I like this song, and the harmonies did sound good together, but there were definite moments of tentativeness during the solo parts. Add to that Danny overpowering Kris toward the end, and you have a somewhat uneven performance. It was still good, considering these guys aren't rockers, but it still needed to be great. Kris: it's pretty obvious that Kris is much more of an acoustic Jack Johnson/Jason Mraz-folk-rocker instead of a hard classic rocker. This was a decent performance, but the arrangement drowned him out, especially during the last half. The song pick was good, but I think if he had rearranged it to better suit his style, it would have been better. Danny: Ohhhhhhh this is riskyyyyyy. Taking risks is good, but when you fall on your face, it ain't much fun. Dream On didn't fit Danny at all. I figured that even with his soul Michael McDonald vibe, Danny would still be able to find a great song for his voice, but this was WAY too much. That last note made my throat hurt. Sorry, dude...I like you, but I didn't like that. Adam and Allison duet: That big rhythmic whooshing you all hear is me headbanging, because THAT ROCKED THE MOTHERFLIPPIN HOUSE!!! I seriously felt like I was at a concert....both Adam and Allison worked the stage extremely well, fed off of each other's energy, blended well with their voices....I just might download this! Well, tonight was an interesting night. Half the performances were really great, and the other half range from good, to uncharacteristically painful. Rankings: Adam and Allison Adam Allison Kris and Danny Kris Danny All of the contestants are great, and it doesn't matter to me who wins, as I'm not all THAT invested in this year. However, I still would like to see a Top 3 of Adam, Kris, and Allison. Danny is still great in his own way....the other three have just impressed me more over the course of the past 8 weeks. |

I agree with you, Tiger. I like all of the contestants. I think Adam currently has the edge to win, but as each contestant leaves, their fans will likely choose another to vote for, and it is anyone's guess who will win.

Tiger, I agree with your rankings except I would put Kris before the Kris and Danny duet. Adam and Allison ROCKED THE HOUSE!!!!  I actually liked Kris' solo. The judges couldn't wait to throw him under the bus. I'd rather see him with Adam and Allison in the final three. Danny has a good voice but doesn't have the IT factor. Unfortunately Kris will be going home UNLESS there is an upset. Like you, Tiger, it also doesn't matter to me who wins. Edited by nym1023, May 5 2009, 07:33 PM.

BRAVO  thank you nym1023 ,,, I couldn't have said it better myself ,,,, I pray you're right and the judges will see whose the better 3 this year! Danny is good and he do well but he's just not the American Idol ... type to me.Although I would like to see Kris take the top spot with either Adam or Allison in 2nd place.
