Well, the intro packages are back, so that means just 1 performance from each tonight. Sigh. And Jamiee Fox? I like the guy and all, but that just seems like a little bit of a strange choice for a mentor. But whatever....that's just me. Kris: I've been hearing rumblings that Kris is the most removed from this genre. I doubt that....he brings a very nice smoothness that really fits The Way You Look Tonight. It may have been a little safe, but still well done. Allison: I don't know what Simon was watching....I was VERY engaged by Alli's performance! Yes, she's not your typical standards singer, but she picked very well this week, and just sang the living daylights outta that song!! I just REALLY hope Simon's conversation with her doesn't hurt her. Matt: Good to hear we got him in full voice tonight. And the runs have toned down just a little bit. All that being said, I was actually a little bored with Matt tonight. Not really sure why, but it just didn't do anything for me. maybe it was because I was still trying to figure out Simon's critiques for Kris and Allison. Danny: Ahhhh, finally the vocalist is back! He starts out slow, then lets it rip during the last 30 seconds or so. However, I did feel he put just a liitle too much growling in, and that made him come dangerously close to cracking/coughing. Other than that....his best performance in the last 6-7 weeks. Adam: I never worry, because of course, Adam is going to knock it out of the park. Great arrangement, great vocals and performance (including a monster note towards the very end!), and the Adam train keeps chugging along to the finals. I do have to say that the very last note sounded a little sharp, so it was actually his first technically imperfect vocal this season, but so what? I'm not ranking them this week, but I do have to say that it sounded like Simon wants an Adam/Danny/Matt top 3. It just seems like this week and other weeks, the praise that comes to Kris and Allison is more begrudging ("that was very good, but..."), especially for Allison. I think that may have at least a little bit to do with why she's been in the bottom 3. So tonight, I'm actually going to vote for Allison for a little while. She deserves to stay. |

Liken I would never slap you!  I am not going to rank either. Kris - I liked his vocals and the arrangement. I don't know what Simon was listening to. Allison - I thought she was fabulous. She SANG that song. Again, I don't know what Simon was listening to. Matt - I did not like his performance at all. Simon thought this performance was great....huh. Danny - I like his voice, but this is the first time I actually liked his performance. Adam - As usual his vocals are outstanding, but I wish I could have heard a more standard arrangement. It reminded me of country night when his arrangement did not sound country. I know he is different but sometimes you have to stick to the theme. I think the final three should be Adam, Danny and Allison, but I think you may be right Tiger that Simon wants Adam, Danny and Matt. ETA: Tiger, I agree....Jamie Foxx? Bebop and I were discussing it and we think that Simon wants to stir things up, so he praised Matt because he might be going home. Also, he wasn't as nice to Allison because he knows that if he says he doesn't like someone or thinks they can't win, people will be challenged to vote for them.. i.e. Allison. I also loved Danny's performance tonight! The ending rocked! He is the one that I have always thought I would buy a CD by. I like Adam and his performances are always fantastic and unexpected, but Danny gave him a run for his money tonight!I have to say that the only thing that really bugs me about Adam is that when he hits the "big notes' he kind of sticks out his tongue. I wish someone would call him on that.

I completely agree with everything you said Jan! I said the same thing to my husband about Simon's comments to Matt, the idea that he may be trying to 'challenge' people to keep Allison in the competition and I love Adam but that tongue things gets on my nerves too! At least is isn't pierced. That is a HUGE turnoff for me. Actually all piercings except one or two in the ears are. |

Has anyone read the interview with Simom in the new TV Guide? He says he thinks Danny will be the winner which translates into he wants Adam to win so vote for him. Simon is SO transparent, it surprises me that some people do not realize it. |

Well with the way it turned out on Tuesday ... I wasn't so shocked with the way they were grouped. I was surprised to see the bottom 3 be "Matt, Kris and Adam" although after watching the five perform, I did have to agree on one thing about Adam .. he sings well and moves to the beat but the song he sang the other night I couldn't really remember it as I did the others and furthermore, Adam actually performed his performance as Simon said very theatre performance and not what we're use to seeing from him on Idol! I still want KRIS ALLEN to win ... I think he's more of the "American Idol" type this season. Nice smile, has a great voice, and his personality is genuine. He's our next American Idol I can just feel it. I wasn't really surprised to see Allison, Danny, Kris and Adam take the final four spots. I hated to see Matt leave. I think it should of been Danny JMO. but America is the real voter. Go Kris ~ I'll keep my  crossed for Kris in the Finale in 3 weeks from now.This week it's "Rock and Roll" episode ... theme week.
