I have a couple actually. I like Danny and Scott is amazing with the piano. Anoop is another favorite of mine. I'm more impressed with the guys this year so far than with the girls. Time will tell. |

I like Danny, Scott and Anoop also. The only girl whose made any impression on me at all is Alexa Grace. Megan Corkrey is OK but when she sings she does that 'potty dance' (that's what it reminds me of) and looks so awkward. Performing live with the audience and cameras really did in some of the hopefuls. We'll see this week if those who remain can handle the pressure. |

To early for us (hubby & I) to have a top favorite. We do like Alexis Grace, Allison Irasheta, Danny Gokey, Scott, Jorge Matt, & Adam. Are very happy drama queen is out! Will be interesting to see how they do tonight. |

I may be alone on this one, but Adam is my clear favorite. I know he is a seasoned entertainer, but I do connect with him. I would have loved seeing him in Wicked. Next to him my favorites are Allison and Danny. I really thought the show last night was great. The guys are wonderful for the most part. I'm looking forward to many great performances. |

Last night was the first time I heard any of the contestants sing. I will put the girls in the order that I liked them and then the guys. My order will be based on the voice only and not whether the song choice was good or not for the individual. Remember this is the first time I heard them sing. Girls Lil Rounds Allison, Alexis (tied) Jasmine Megan Guys Adam Danny, Matt (tied) Anoop Michael Kris Jorge Scott I am going to take a wild guess at who are going home....Jasmine and Michael  .ETA: I do not have a favorite. My favorites are Lil and Allison. My order would be: Allison Lil Everyone else in the top 13 Everyone who has auditioned for the show ever William Hung Simon Paula Kara Randy . . . . . . . . . Adam. I cannot express to you how much I dislike Adam. I know some of you like him, and I am not trying to offend by any means. But to me he is not an American Idol. I hate him almost as much as I hated Fantasia and if you know me at all, that was a whole lot. But I know I am alone in my dislike for him... so I will return to my cave now and be happy for those who like him if he wins. |

Wow Lindsey....give us your opinion.  LOL But just out of curiousity, what don't you like about him? Just the way he sings, or his whole vibe?I'm not all that invested in the show, but I still do like Adam...he's stil probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite. |

He just bothers me. It's hard to explain. His look is scary. And his voice just does nothing for my ear. I always feel like my speakers must sound different than everyone else's. To me he sounds terribly pitchy, often to the point of squeak screaming... which I suppose could be a lucrative new genre. I do not get the appeal at all. I am trying to like him, because I know he'll be around for a while based on everyone else's responses to him. But so far no luck. I want him to bust out just a huge overwhelming performance (like when Fantasia did Summertime, to tie it back to my former post) so that I can at least say "Oh, ok, I get why people like him." I wasn't trying to be harsh -  - again, I'm sorry if I offended. I am sure there are plenty of reasons other people have to like him. None of those reasons click for me is all.

Oh you didn't offend me at all  .....like I said, I'm not emotionally invested. I just watch, root for a few people I like, and write about it. I was just a Curious George.

Lilnickles, you did not offend me . As I said in my post upthread this is the first time I heard the contestants sing. My rankings were based just on the voice. I'm not invested in anyone. I honestly don't care who wins. Just watching the show.

I actually "get" both points of view about Adam. He is clearly a good (and seasoned) performer, is good looking and has a style that has been called bordering on Goth. It has nothing to do with his being gay, I felt that he was the very first time I saw him, and I thought he was talented. I have to admit that the thing that colors my opinion about him that he has been seen and photographed tongue -kissing his boyfriend for the camera. Sorry, but in my view that just lacks all kinds of class. The unnecessary public display of rather crude affection is a major turn-off for me... and I would feel the same way if it were a man and a woman. Just. not. cool, in my opinion. But he is very talented and is a good performer. |

My son was watching with me the other night. When Adam came on his said, "Man, that guy is really goth". He really thought he oversang too. |
