The way I see it, all human really do work together.
Most of the time, people will work with you, if the game requires it, I dont like people following each other around at the very start, that doesnt get you anywhere, but at the end of the game, chances are you'll have to work with someone.

Yeah, when they work together from the start it's really hard for the para.
However, my experiences differs from yours. In most non-clan games I find that few humans work together. Often one decides to spend the game drinking and drugging, and usually ropes in a drinking buddy or two.
Then someone self infects.
Then one or two players decide to go on a tk spree.
Then someone accuses another player of being para because of a minor offense like stealing a suit or not obeying them.
Then the cappy figures: what the heck, I'm the cappy, and targets everyone.
Etc.

Usually only one or two things happen in a single game, but I also rarely see players truly working together instead of going rambo :\
