I had a weird dream yesterday.
For some reason I could talk to animals and made an animal army to play warhammer with a friend... or something o.o
Then I saw a dog trapped on a rock in the middle of a creek, so I said he could jump onto the other stone and climb the cliff face to escape. He said it was too slippery.
Later, as I tried to track down my animal army, (somehow no one had seen it) i found myself in what looked like a doctors waiting room, but smaller. Then the dog came back, and gave me a trophy because "first I took an interest in his plight as explained how he could leave", then something I can't remember, then "made a ship that could bend light and fly to any location instantly" to get him out of the water.
All I thought was: yay, I get to time travel sometime, because I haven't done that yet.
Then the dog said if he ever got bored of earth, he could fly to another dog world, and he said there must be alien dogs due to something on dr. who...
I blame the pizza.
And the homework. One time, I dreamt I had no homework.
I think I was seven...

Anyone else had weird dreams lately they feel like sharing for the good of the community and to ensure the productiveness of our nation?

The falling one is actually a result of the part of your brain that controls balance being switched off as you sleep.
Once you enter the REM stage, your body switches off the movement and balance parts of your brain to stop you sleepwalking. Once you enter a lighter stage of sleep the balance part gradually returns, and often results in dreams of falling, sudden loss of balance, or a feeling of falling even when awake.
Same thing with the spinning.

Sometimes people are able to wake up and their body doesn't reactivate the movement part of their brain, so they feel paralysed :O

And it's not just me! everyone has weird dreams.
One time I was on a hill and goofy-eyed clams and pink bunnies were coming at me saying: 'we loove yyyooou!'
As I recall I had a flamethrower. Twas all in good fun

I love the dreams you can partially control through semi-conciousness, although it usually leaves me in embarassment with the dream people.

For example, I "willed" myself to jump to the top of the bank to face the bank robbers, but when I tried to fire my gun, all I ended up doing was pointing my fingers in a gun shape and going "PEW PEW". I was promptly laughed at then shot.

Lawl. I hate the dreams where your continously chased by something...

Oh yeah, thanks zeph, but it doesn't stop one thing, I have a habit of sitting up in bed (still asleep) and lobbing my pillows across the room, my folks tell me its hell scary. I'll be sleeping there then, *ruffle ruffle* *Bam* (knock something off the wall). Yeah, ain't no balance brain thingy there.

I used to do that with my barney :(
But the controlling thing is called lucid dreaming. I sometimes have that.
It's odd how sometimes your eyes are open and you see your room superimposed on the dream o.O
Heres a few weird things that happen to me when I lucid dream:
If I go back to where the dream started, everything behind my initial viewpoint is white like an unfinished game zone. I can also step through a portal (that looks like the instance one from WoW, for some reason o.o) and ill be back in my body. Then I can sit up and see myself sleeping. And poke myself :D
Then I can go into my families rooms and see silly cartoon thought bubbles over their heads, and jump into their dreams.
The best part is if I don't like the dream anymore, I can just open my eyes ^.^
Usually the lucid dreams that are easiest to remember are the ones where I'm actually semi awake, I can look at my room but return to the dream in seconds. There are even methods to encourage lucid dreams o.O
Me likey searching useless information during school. :(

i have so many weird mystical dreams be it happy ones or nightmares that u could have an entire libary full of books about it.

Here's one both funny and scary dream.

I was at home watching TV and then for some weird reason, the TV suddenly had an important news report,
apprantly aliens were attacking planet earth and new york had just be destroyed and burnt to the ground, then Obama was turned into an alien and USA became a zerg spawning grounds. From there,i was like, wtf?the weird thing about the dream is that i couldnt stop myself from dreaming even though it didnt even make any sense at all. Then,my house was full of smoke and screams filled the air with crashes and zapping sounds. At this point, i got really scared,i was alone at home, my family was all out eating.I started panicking and bolted all the windows (at a amazingly fast speed and i could fly)and started phonning my dad and company.I couldnt get a signal, i was half-crying and feeling despair.Suddenly, my family went through the door and fell down exhausted and looked half-dead with all the wounds on them. Then,we stayed inside the house till night.suddenly, i could hear my neighbour's screams and burnning smellls.i looked through the door and saw a very big HYDRALISK ABOUT 3 TIMES BIGGER THAN ME AND ZERGS THE SIZE OF HUMANS KILLING PEOPLE WHO WERE RUNNING ABOUT?!?!?! i WAS SO SCARED, i wet my pants.then, for some strange reason, they left the block. My damily and i rushed out of the house and ran to the carpark to the car to get out of this hellish mad place.when the lift went down,i smelled more death and more crieds of help and despair. Then, as if things couldnt get any worse,A BEHEMOTH THE SIZE OF A BULIDING SMASHING EVERYTHING! I was so scared, upset, angry and despaired i started crying so loud.THEN,ZERGLINGS CAME AND THEY CHASED US LIKE MAD ASSHOLES.We ran like bloody hell to the carpark.About 5 people were also running with us.then,a hydralisk shot me with its alien acid venom nad i fell down, zerglings jumped on me and started to rip my flesh out.I suddenly flew up attempting to escape, while flying, suddenly my family was crying and shouting my name,i suddenly flew to the behemoth and when it was about to devour me,the dream ended.

I c.

Anyway darvs, the one I remember most is setting up a small blue light to shine into your eyes when you go to sleep. Blue is the slowest wavelength of light, so doesn't really interfere with sleep. However, in the dream, you will see a blue light which acts as a signal, telling you your dreaming. Once you realise it's a dream and your concious takes over, your free to control your dreams :D
The others were things like: setting a mental command, while falling asleep, to check for dream signs (such as everything being in black and white, moving distances without being aware of a change in surroundings, monsters doing the laundry etc) to aid in dream recall and promote awareness.
Then theres what is apparently the easiest way to lucid dream: go to sleep when tired for about 5-6 hours. Then wake up (alarm or something) and think for an hour about lucid dreaming. When you fall back to sleep it apparently has a 60% success rate and results in longer lucid dreamage.
Then theres the obvious one: Get used to waking up about 90 mins earlier than usual. After your body ajusts, alternately sleep for normal time and the 90 min earlier time. On the days where you sleep for your original amount of time, your body is ready to awaken 90 mins before you do, thus increasing awareness and chances of lucidity. (although some of these techniques seem to promote sleep deprivation to me)
Heres a few that require habbit but won't cause sleep deprivation:
Regularly pinch your nose shut and try to breathe without using your mouth. If it's real life, then obviously you won't be able to. However, since you're paralyzed during REM sleep, you won't be pinching your real nose if it's a dream, and you will be able to breathe through your nose, thus telling you it's a dream :D
Flipping a light switch (dreams usually don't change in light levels due to electronics)
Look at a digital watch, look away, and look back. If it has weird numbers/letters/symbols or if the time changed, it's a dream.
Check if you can fly, if you are in real surroundings, how many fingers are on each hand, etc.
Ways to prolong lucid dreaming are: rubbing hands, to avoid the sensation of lying down, and spinning, to encourage further REM.
Fun fax: trained lucid dreamers can talk to observers using eye movement signals.
Finnaly, lucid dreaming is more likely to occur if your mind doesn't have much to sort out during REM, and has 'spare time'.
