Yo, sorry to break up the convo, but I need halp theorycrafting for my sc2 para map. (Which is coming along quite nicely) First of all, should the infect'ed aliens be controled by the cerb, or just give em to some half decent AI that has some modes of control. Also, what effects would a time limit for the alien have on the general gameplay? And what should I call my map? I really dont want to use the words parasite or alien in the title. Cheers and now to reply n shit I played with darva in hon, liek, end of last year. Could probally talk to him on msn, but cbf I usually see dp when I log onto wc3 to talk to people Nota died, although he'll come back for sc2, same with Olly And nubbeh is signapooran, last time i checked? Also, Cador_2004 has joined the clan ark forums, and knows about my sc2 maps over thar, so he'll come back. Also, zeph, you wanna start remaking this site purely for my parasite map? Givez it to teh AI, but give the cerebrate the ability to spawn a few ones for an army or something. Also, let the cerebrate have some small power over it, like being able to influence them move to a certain spot, or attack something. Call teh map, Xenophyte...or Nuubeh Cake...or Infection or something to do with a disease. As for a time limit for an alien... I'm pretty cool with it, as long as it isnt too long and the reason for the time limit can be something like the humans are gonna escape off the ship and alert the rest of humanity and the commisars and what not will come and rescue them and blow up the ship while they are at it or something, along with the alien. Cheers, and dont forget cake and cheese, everything tastes better with cake and cheese. |

Dont do time limits, thats redicilous, i could hide from one of you pro players in para2 or rez for ages if i could be bothered, its just gunna be a noob fest of hiding... Nubbehhs idea for the shared control... IS THEre a maiin ship like in para rez? or something new? could be based on the title of the ship, or planet |

Use the edit button kuthe, that post was like one minute after the previous one. As for what you said, I'm thinking that bsw would make the map much more expandable, more space travel and stuff. Like more than one spaceship, and a command center, to make the map more interesting and having dog fights and stuff, with new tatics. Also, as for the alien hiding, I'm pretty sure it will be easy to counter if you give a few handy gadgets to the humans and abilites for tracking it down, like scanning a planet or what not for alien or infected DNA lifeforms or whatever. |

alright, I agree with kuthe, time limits not good, could hide forever by turning the power off, also, time limits are for things that can't die, like infernals in tree tag. Parasite is a lot easier to kill, and more permanently dead. How close is this map going to be to para rez? or is it more like symbiote or metastasis? You only really need 1 station, sort of lends a more lonely feel to the game, multiple planets/asteroids/moons/dwarf planets etc. would be cool. what about something with the oft forgotten theta gene treatment facility? Just bringing up the idea. Also is it possible to get items in Starcraft 2? An idea occurs to me. What about a way to change the station, like when the parasite is tier 4 the AI can plug itself into teh station to do some uber defence, or the parasite can infest the station and make tentacles come out of the walls and stuff. AAARGGHGHGHBLARGLE Another idea, VENTILATION DUCTS! secret passages etc that worms and things can crawl through. edit: Does SC2 have those wall traps like in SC1? Call the map Infestation, of course ![]() Failing that, decide on a name for the parasite's species and call it something relating to that Imo, the cerebate should have control over the infected aliens, but maybe have a switch to turn them to ai mode? Timed idea sounds good on paper (forces the cerebate to actually do something) but in reality would probably just result in all the humans bunkering or otherwise trying to survive and not kill the para As for the site, dunno how to set the banner and background, but ill see if I can't find out how Edit: think I know how to edit most of the stuff now (logo and button skins, for example) Edited by zeph, Jun 17 2010, 04:53 PM.
