GENERAL GAMEPLAY
The map is set on a lonely island in the middle of a great ocean. On the island are reserach facilties, living quaters etc. The research is looking into the devolepement of the parasite, when guess what happens.
This map, however will be diffrent to the original parasite in 1 very diffrent way, the parasite will have a time limit to win. This is because a large battlecruiser is in the vicinity, and it is prepearing to fire on the island, to remove all traces of the parasite. The only way for the parasite to escape, is too infect all the humans within 3-5 days.
This, as you would think, would change the game drasticly. No longer will the parasite be able to wait it out, and let the humans kill each other, it is now quite the oppisite.
So, how will the parasite win?
Well, the island is covered in lots of little critters for the parasite to infect. The parasite can also spread its infection across the land (Creep) and the humans array of items is quite diffrent.
The items are, instead of healing stimpacks and speed boosters, ammo and upgrades. This means that for certain effects (Healing, speed boost, silence, etc) you must team up with another player. You will still get some items that are consumable (Bombs, flares, Radios, etc) but they will not be as central to your overall stratergy, there will be no items like thermal shields, or emc generators. Those will all become part of suits. We might even be able to get suits and weapons, increasing the number of stratergies even more.
TERRIAN
The center of the island is a mountain, with a communication tower in the middle. This will allow the humans to communicate with the battlecruiser, and is easy to defend, because you have a large LOS from the top of it. The coms tower also contains a ammo vendor, and a weapons/suit vendor.
The coms tower is surrounded by a thick forest, complete with small cliffs and valleys, this adventrally leads to a beach, where it is much more open, and your vision is less hampered.
Around the beach, there are 4 other faclities. The most important is the research center, at the top of the island, which contains many important objects. The research center also holds advanced weapons/armor, and many other things, such as a revival system for the wounded, the option to scan the island, experimental critters, addon vendors, etc.
The next thing is the dock. This is located at the south side of the island, oppisite to the research center. This contains weapons and armor vendors, ammo vendors and a consumables vendor. The dock also contains damage verchels which have to be repaired before use.
The final two structures are small generators that have to be activated before the coms tower can be used. They are small, and are on the east and west side of the island, and only contain ammo vendors.

ADVANCED GAMEPLAY
-Money: Money though killing infected animals or humans or though research (Standing on a panel in the research center and reciving X*time spent money) Money is used to buy things (Duh) and to repair the verchiels (Yeah i suck at spelling). There are some free items such as basic ammo, suits and weapons, but if you want the good stuff, u gotta save up. Money can also be shared between players
-Chat: The normal chat is localised, meaning only people with a certain radius can hear you, however you can use radios, which makes your chat global. Radios however have a limited number of charges, and each time you talk globaly, a charge is used. Radios can also be used to ping
-Death: Once your dude dies, you become a corpse. You will slowly lose health, and you cannot be attacked by most weapons. You can be picked up by another human, and taken back to the healing station at the research center, where you can be revived. The parasite can easily infect you while in this state, and there could possibly be a suit that could revive you in the field. If you have been revived, and then die again, you will be able to be revived inside a robotic shell, robots are quite strong, yet they cannot restore their life without assistance.
-Evolution: The parasite has a large web of evolutions, it can chose to improve its speed, strength or mind at each evolution, allowing for an evolution web of sorts to occur. It is only revealed which starting evolution the parasite has chosen. Spawns can also chose their own evolution path. Evolution points are gained over time, or when a unit is infected.
-Addons: Addons can be brought at the research center and passively improve 1 trait of the users stats. They can be stacked, and upgraded, these replace the consumables of parasite 2, so you will have to rely on your buddies suits and weapons to support you.
-Support: The radios and flares will become usable together to call in airstrikes, supply drops and more from the battlecruiser. Support will cost money, and radio charges, and the aircraft carrying the supplies will be able to be shot down or turned away by fire.
-Containment: To control the spread of parasites, you can buy and plant containment wards, which will stop infected animals from infecting wildlife (Will not stop cerb/spawns in para form thou) Containment wards will also push back creep (Unless an parasite structure is nearby) and will have other effects
So thats it, hope you enjoy and can think of other ideas for it!

(Although you only get told what the first evo is, do you get alerted whenever it upgrades? Eg, first time: The para has evolved into a road runner. Second time: 'The parasite has evolved')

I'll assume starcraft has items and inventory and stuffs. What would there be to stop a human from hiding/running/barracading himself for the duration of the game?
One idea might be instead of having the time limit expiration result in an earth-shattering kablooie, having extra units and armaments sent down to the human players so the hunted can become teh hunters :D
Explosion would still be fun though, but personally I hate timers XD

Para in sc2 is going to be so cool. Most of the graphics and playstyle are already there, and models like vehicles, battlesuits and para/ai types look awesome even without any imports :D

Well, if you camp in 1 place, the parasite can spread its infection all over the rest of the island, meaning you'll have to fight off a mass of infected animals. Hell, I might even make it the parasite can create buildings on creep, that would defend it, or spawn more infected.
Hell, i might just go though the archives of infestation forums and steal some more ideas, its not like dsg is still working on it :P

Oh yeah- and would there be a limit to minispawns that severly restrict your army-massing capabilities? (Imo twas too small in p2 D:)

Unlike parasite 2, your minions will be AI controlled, however you will have some infulence over them, such as being able to tell them all to attack a place/person, guard an area, etc, there will be some parasite forms that have more control, and can order nearby mini-parasites manually.
And you will not have a limit, you just have to keep killing animals or create more spawning buildings.

Also: that system sounds awesome, and would give more strategy. Decide between having a cerebate powerhouse or a subtle overmind that directs hordes of parasites at your enemies! Is liek warhammer. Only with better graphics. And I'll be able to find someone to play it with. YEY!
