Name: Jake Quigg

Code Name: Alistair Johnson, or Mr. Johnson

Height: 6'2 inches

Weight: 180 pounds

Gender: Male

Age: 27

Rank: Beginner

Appearance: Jake Quigg looks like the kind of man who would blend in perfectly in a crowd. He's of average height and weight, his shoulders not overly broad, or anything like that. In fact, one would most likely never guess he was a Conduit. He likes to keep things simple, but proper. Choosing dark slacks with matching button up shirts, and even a tie may not be out of character for him.

Starting from the top of his head, his hair is a deep red, always kept slicked back and against his head. Moving from there, his bright blue eyes and pale skin would be seen smiling at you. Nothing marrs his features, no obvious scars or marks, or even tattoos. Going down from there, his body is thin, but not overly lanky, all the way down to his feet. Sadly, the physical appearance is probably the least noticeable thing about Mr. Quigg.

Background:

Jake Quinn was a rather ordinary kind of individual growing up. Well, that wasn't entirely true. His family was actually quite wealthy. His mother was a stay at home kind of parent, his father, however, was a professional gambler. Typically, this meant a life of being very careful with finances, but his father was good. Really good. While they weren't ever at the point of having swimmingpools of gold coins, they lived comfortably. Jake had always had a fascination with his father, someone who was charismatic enough to be anyone's friend, and even at a young age, he wanted to try to take after his father.

Of course, nobody becomes a professional Gambler over night, and Jake spent years studying cards and dice, and every type of gambling you could do with them. Now, this was through his middle school career, and his grades suffered. Why? Because he didn't see the point. He didn't want to learn about the battle of waterloo, and he didn't care why I came before E. However, this was actually not okay with his father. Previously, any games they'd played were for fun, with his father usually winning anyways. But after seeing just how dedicated Jake was to trying to learn, to the serious fault it was, Jake's father, Randy, gave him an Ultimatum. He would teach Jake all his secrets. He would stop gambling for a year to teach him all his tricks... but only if he passed Highschool. And of course, this was not something he could take lightly.

High school was much different. It was his, in his eyes, only shot of being a real player like his father, and nothing was going to stop him. He hadn't been very social to begin with, but in highschool, he was a complete hermit. But his classes were passed with the highest marks. and you know what? his father kept on his word. The day after graduation, Randy was home, a professional grade poker table in their Rec Room. On the table was a pile of cash, five grand, and beside it were chips that matched the price. The Smile on Jake's face could not have been bigger as his father shuffled the cards.

Jake learned a lot from his father, primarily about Human nature, and how to judge risks and rewards. Gambling isn't about the cards or the Dice, it's about knowing what you have to gain and lose. Every bet isn't a Gamble, it is a Promise, a deal. The player and the dealer are making a Deal: If X happens then Y happens. But most importantly, you have to know what you're willing to give up. Never bet anything that you're not willing to lose. Simple advice, but things that Jake earned to live by. He fully planned to play with his father, even against him, but he never got the chance. It was about two weeks before his first real card tournament when the first Ray Sphere exploded.

Jake's faily was rather devistated by it. His mom was gone, crushed by rubble when their house collapsed. His father and he managed to escape, but only barely. With the gangs running rampant and these new "conduits" making more trouble, the two had to use their wits to survive... and you know what? It worked. Knowing human nature was enough to let them continue living, and continue to survive, though it was hardly easy for them. The Second ray sphere caused more hell, and the beast too. The beast, though, was the real problem. They had made it so long, so many years, surviving, but when the beast came, it had finally been the end. His father was killed during that time, and it was just... well, there wasn't anything to say other than Jake was Devastated. He was alone, and there wasn't anything else to say about the truth of the matter. Nothing whatsoever. But what could he do but just go on?

He thought about suicide, multiple times, but he couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger, either metaphorically or literally/ However, things changed when he realized that he had begun to change as well. His powers started recently, and he wasn't even sure what he was going to do with them. It was frightening, all in all, but... He wasn't willing to give up his life for nothing, might as well try to live, right? Thats all his father wanted though: He wanted him to live.

Your character is technically fine. However, I wanted to be sure you had seen these:

This promotion allows you to start with 5 more attribute points, and at a higher rank if you so desire.

This Running promotion allows you to get some extra stuff on your RPC as well.

Unless you want to start this way, which is fine. Let me know and I can approve him as is.

And I have confirmed you're not using any of the bonus stuff. Very well then.
