As the truck moved, Kyle heard the man on the other end swear, followed by some question of how the kid could move the truck when bossman had the keys. Unfortunately, he hadn't moved quite fast enough to block that initial civilian, but the movement of the armored vehicle threw the sniper off-his shot wasn't a kill. "Dammit kid...just wait til we get a good angle on you. Or better yet, I'll just call my employer...he can deal with you with no trouble at a-." The man's voice cut out, and if Kyle risked a glance to the roofs, he'd see 4 snipers, each being pinned by a pair of officers, no doubt having snuck up on them while Kyle commanded their full attention. A pair of armored vehicles slammed through the wreckage of the detonated vehicles-from out of them poured SWAT members. Their immediate target were the villains...but Kyle would probably have to get out of there quickly. Vigilantism, especially vigilantism that left one of the criminals dead, one civilian injured, and dozens of officers dead or maimed, was highly looked down upon. Kyle's mission was over-as soon as he escaped from the cops. If he paid attention though, he'd see that a manhole covering had been slightly pushed aside about ten feet away from him-not enough for one of the larger cops to fit through, but plenty for Kyle to fit down. However, he needed to get there quickly and safely: he was just another criminal to these cops. Any attempts to make a run for it would probably end badly. |

At first it looked like the criminals were going to play the waiting game, well, he wasn't sure how to deal with that. But suddenly, something happened that caused them to be cut off. At first Kyle thought they had gotten that angle on him that they needed, and were simply shutting up so he wouldn't figure that out, but he soon realized it was nothing of the sort. Instead, while the vigilante had been speaking to him, the police had gotten back on their feet and gotten the drop on the snipers. He almost sighed in relief; he hadn't been sure how he was going to deal with the snipers: they were simply too far away for any of his powers to be of any use. That was one problem he didn't have to deal with now. Unfortunately, he still had to escape; odds were, the police wouldn't take too kindly to his stepping in, and he almost couldn't blame them. However, he had no intentions of being "unavoidable detained and began looking for an escape route. At first he considered driving off in the armored car, but that would attract too much attention. No, he had to try something else. Looking around, he quickly found a more reliable way: the sewers. For once his youth was actually going to aid him: it would be a tight fit, but he could make it, unlike most adults. He dashed towards the manhole, using his magnetism on his jacket periodically to speed himself up. Then, he took the top off and climbed in. Note to self: get a shower before parents return home. |
