Marcus didn't stop running-he couldn't. That weird ass man could still be back there, or the cops could be chasing him. He couldn't stop running. At least, that's what he thought at first-then he realized that passing through the streets like this would be bad-he shouldn't draw attention to himself.

Marcus opened his mcdonald's bag to see his spoils-he'd taken a pretty good bit today. He tried getting excited about that-it didn't work. All he could think about was the strange man and his own...strangeness that he had exhibited. Electricity had come from Marcus' body. And light too. Whatever that man did to him...Marcus didn't like it.

The man leaned against a wall and slid down, watching people and cars pass by. He needed something to take his mind off of...well...THAT.

Kyle had been walking down the street, with quite a bit on his mind. It was clear he could do things most people couldn't... but how could he do them? And what should he do with them? Two disturbing questions... and no answers.

Trying to either figure out those answers, or failing that, get his mind off of them, he took a stroll through part of Uptown. It was mostly uneventful, until he saw a man run by him, looking like something had scared the life out of him. He was also holding a McDonalds bag. That in itself was fairly wierd. Who was he? Kyle decided not to think about it for now.

Less then a minute later, an unfamiliar sound reached they boy's ears. A siren. For a second, he thought it was an ambulence, and that someone had been hurt, but he realized it wasn't the sound given off by an ambulence, but a police car. Was something going on? He turned a corner, and saw a McDonalds. That wasn't perticularly unusual: fast food places were everywhere in a city like this, especially McDonalds. What was unusual was the fact there were several police cars in the parking lot, their lights flashing.

Did someone rob the place or something? He wondered. The crime rate was spiked in recent times, but a McDonalds of all places? And in Uptown? That kind of thing never happened here! Wait a sec... that guy who was running earlier... he was carrying a McDonalds bag with him... was he the one who did this? How DARE HE... oh shoot, not again. As Kyle's temper rose, he began to feel a tingling sensation through his body. Realizing what was about to happen, he ducked into an alley just in time to hide the fact that sparks began jumping from various parts of his body. Gotta calm down, I'm gonna draw a lot of attention looking like this... can't afford that right now. Taking deep breaths, he let his anger fade, causing the sparks to disapppear. Still... that man won't get away with this. Reaching into his jacket, Kyle pulled out a ski mask. He'd bought it at a pawn shop earlier. He hadn't known what he was going to do with it, but he figured if he was ever going to use his powers in public, he'd be better off if people didn't know who he was. Once it was in place, he stepped out of the alley and made his way back to the thief.

It didn't take him long to find the man. He'd clearly worn himself out earler, and was leaning against a wall, resting. The McDonald's bag was still in his possession, held loosely in one hand.

"Are you the one who robbed the fast food place?" He asked the man defiantly, trying to conceal his nervousness.

Marcus' first reaction to the masked guy asking about a robbery-that he was about to be robbed himself. So, he wasn't about to just roll over. Not after that...insanity at the restaurant. Marcus rose to his feet and prepared for...whatever.

"And what if I was? What do you plan to do about it?"

Admittedly...Marcus wasn't sure what he was about to do. He had a weapon-he could end this...but he narrowly avoided a murder charge last time. He wasn't about to shoot someone. Then again...he had that weird stuff from earlier. Maybe that could be used for fighting?

Marcus didn't bother putting on his mask. He had already been identified. A disguise was useless. If he had to use his weird...stuff...well, he'd do it maskless.

The man's response almost guaranteed that he was the robber after all, and didn’t feel very sorry about it. Not that Kyle was surprised. The boy was weaponless, much smaller, and in not as good physical condition, which would probably look a bit odd, seeing how he was the one who looked like he was the bad guy. Well, time to dispel the criminal of his delusions.

The boy stopped suppressing the anger he’d felt earlier, and started to feel like a geyser in the making: a powerful jet of boiling water just short of bursting into the surface.

“Then you should probably give that stuff back.” He said. With that, he let his power manifest. The air around him began to crackle with electricity, and small sparks began to jump to and fro on various parts of his body. “Before I decide to do something about it.”

In all honesty, he hoped it wouldn't come down to a fight: he hadn't done much in the way of experimentation with his powers yet, so going into combat with them against an adult probably wasn't a good idea. As such, he was hoping to use his abilities to intimidate the man into doing what he said, without having to get physical. Of course, if he refused to back down, Kyle would have no options but to attack: he'd revealed his powers, (well, some of them, anyways) and he couldn't run without drawing even more attention.

Well, Marcus wasn't expecting THAT. This kid could do the same thing! That was crazy! Well at least Marcus wouldn't feel as bad about it anymore...now, if only he could figure out how to...

Purple sparks started dancing down Marcus' arm, and the young man thrust his arm forward-no one threatened him. Just like he wanted, the electricity jumped from his arm towards the boy in front of him. The other guy likely wouldn't be expecting it...so, this was probably going to suck for him. Considerably.

Marcus kept pouring his energy out, sending those sparks towards the threat. In his other hand, he held his hard-earned loot. This dude had messed with the wrong small time crook.

Marcus' eyes were glowing slightly violet as he shot his power off-he didn't know it, of course, but anyone looking at him would see the abnormality. That is, they would, if they weren't busy freaking out over the man shooting lightning from his fingertips.

OOC: Let's see how Marcus reacts to the "hamster test" XD

IC: As soon as Kyle saw purple sparks racing down the man’s arm, his first thought was You have got to be kidding me. However, the older male was clearly not in a joking mood, as an electric current shot out of said arm and right at him. Acting on instinct as much as common sense, the boy brought his hands up in a defensive stance he’d learned at karate, and willed the sparks to not hit him. At first, it appeared to do nothing, until the current was a mere foot away from him, when it suddenly stopped, as if it had hit an invisible wall and started rebounding in every direction but at him. Fortunately for both combatants, the sparks dispersed quickly, bringing no harm to anyone.

I should have known there would be a catch. He can do sparky stuff too? But why does his get to be purple? Still… I wonder if he can do any of the other things I can do. Time to test it out.

He took a better look at his foe. The man had a gun at his side, but he hadn’t brought it out, apparently deciding to rely on his powers instead. In one hand, he held the bag with his loot in it. That got his attention, though he did his best to keep it from showing on his face.

Let’s see, I doubt he went through the trouble of robbing a fast food place just for whatever was in the cash register at the time. He probably had everyone there give him their valuables as well. That would explain why it’s so bulky. A lot of that stuff is probably metal. Ah, I know! Doing his best to keep the current from reaching him, he began to gently “tug” the bag, or to be specific, the bag’s contents. So far, he’d realized he could only do two things with his magnetism abilities: make stuff fly towards him, and make stuff fly away from him. He gently used both aspects of the ability, alternating between the two quickly. The result was the bag started to shake, as if a hamster had somehow gotten into the bag and was trying to squirm its way out.

While that was happening, he began to stare at it, feigning confusion. “Um, what exactly did you take from there again?”

Marcus hadn't been expecting that...he watched everyone put their things in the bag, it hadn't been opened...there couldn't be something else in there. Yet, it was moving around. Marcus growled and sent a surge of electricity down his left hand, electrocuting whatever annoying critter had found it's way in.

That was all he could do about it though-there were more pressing matters on his mind. Namely, the fact that this kid was able to knock away his power like it was nothing. But as Marcus could recall, he had more than just his sparks. His eyes continued to glow as a faint pulsing light enveloped his torso. Simultaneously, the same type of pulsating light surrounded the boy. Marcus wasn't sure what he could do with this, but...well...here goes nothing.

An animalistic growl left Marcus' lips as he lifted his arm high and slammed it back down. The light surrounding the boy would mimic Marcus' actions, taking the boy with it. Marcus didn't wait to see how effective this would be-he ran. He couldn't afford to get in a fight right now.

"Maybe later kid!"

OOC: Just to make sure you're not confused, this isn't an exit post, he's just running.

Unfortunately, the man didn’t react as Kyle had hoped, and simply electrocuted the bag in order to make it stop moving. As he did, Kyle started looking around for metal objects he could use. Being in the middle of a city, there were quite a few of those. The first thing he turned up was a nearby manhole, or to be more exact, its covering.

However, before he could do anything about it, something else happened. The man was surrounded by an aura of purple light. The next thing he knew, he was surrounded by that same light. When the man brought his hands down in a double hammerfist, well, he went down.

It was as if he’d been tied up and pushed down. Unprepared, he dropped to his hands and knees, expecting broken bones or something.

Surprisingly enough though, there wasn’t any. Sure, he hadn’t been able to prevent being dragged to the ground, but it hadn’t actually hurt him that much, beyond some minor scraping.

Shoot, what was that light? Well, whatever it was, he can clearly do stuff with it that can’t be done with electricity. Still… it doesn’t look like it packs quite the punch electricity does. Better keep that in mind.

Looking up, he saw his opponent was trying to flee. Well, he wasn’t going to let that happen so easily.

He used his magnetism to reel in the manhole covering, causing the metal disk to come flying towards him. When it was close enough, he had it stop, and pointed it in the direction of his retreating foe.

“Not. That. EASY!!!” He yelled, sending the disk flying towards his opponent, aimed at the back of the man’s kneecaps.

Marcus heard an increase of volume from the boy-probably meant something was about to happen. Marcus turned back in time to see-What the hell?!-a manhole cover flying towards him. Obviously, their tricks were different. Marcus turned around and pushed his arm towards the manhole cover. A blast of purple light erupted from Marcus' hand-striking the manhole cover as it flew towards him. Unfortunately, the manhole cover was moving a bit too fast for a complete stop. It bounced across the ground, knocking painfully onto the side of Marcus' thigh.

Marcus let out a cry of pain and fell to one knee-that hurt, dammit! Marcus glared at the boy in front of him, now probably about 30 feet off. Two streaks of purple electricity danced across the ground towards the boy, a blast of purple light following them-the light traveled faster than the electricity, and would hit first, but would likely not hurt much at all-probably like getting hit by a basketball in the chest. That's not what Marcus cared about though-he wanted his electricity to strike.

Again, without waiting to see if his attack was even slightly effective, Marcus turned and ran off-or, more accurately, hobbled, since his leg was in no condition to let him run full speed. I can't keep doing this...I need to get away!

It looked like the manhole covering hit, causing the man to fall down on one knee. However, he was clearly far from being out. He shot off some more electricity again which ran along the ground towards him, followed by another blast of that strange light. As soon as Kyle saw the electricity, he produced two jolts of his own about the same strength as the man's and sent them to collide with his own. As for the light, he caused sparks to shoot out of his fingers, which hit the... whatever it was and destroyed it. However, while he'd done that, he'd lost valuable time: the man was pretty far away now. He didn't have any more manhole covers handy, and he didn't see anything else that would make a useful projectile. He supposed he could have used the first one, but it was too far away for his magnetism powers to reach.

One last move. He thought. Gathering a significant amount of electricity, he sent it running along the ground like the man had done himself just a few seconds earlier, heading right towards his opponent.

Marcus heard it before he felt it-a surge of energy rushing along the ground. The grass the lightning crossed sizzled and burned as the sparks shot through them. Marcus turned at the last second, but found that his injured leg could not support the maneuver. The man fell to the ground, helpless as the sparks shot towards him.

Marcus held his hand out, as if that simple motion could save him-the electricity struck Marcus' arm and...did...nothing? No...it was in his arm. IN him-Marcus could feel it. It felt warm, almost empowering. The sparks danced down his arm, crossed through his body, flowed up his opposite arm, and then, Marcus shot his palm out, letting the electricity go with it. His opponent's electricity mingled with his own, enhancing his power. The resulting blast of lightning was stronger than Marcus could have done himself. It shot through the air above the ground, aimed right back at his enemy.

That was...strange. This is all new though. Maybe that's a new power? Or part of the sparks...what IS this stuff?

Marcus tried to run again, but fell. Running would not be an option today. Marcus sighed and faced his opponent once more. There was only one option before him. He'd have to fight harder.

OOC: I wasn't aware elec. manipulators could absorb their opponent's electric attacks.

IC: The man was unable to escape his electric attack in time. However, something happened that Kyle definitely did not expect. Unable to defend himself, he should have been electrocuted. But instead, he seemed to... absorb it.

The next thing Kyle knew, he was being attacked with a powerful bolt of electricity, greater then anything he'd been up against so far. And oddly enough, the bolt wasn't entirely purple like the man's previous attacks. It was part purple and part yellow-blue, the color of Kyle's own attacks.

Wait a sec, you mean he can ABSORB electric attacks! Well if he can, I probably can to. Here goes nothing. When the bolt was just a few feet away, Kyle gained control of it. He started siphoning the energy from the bolt, but quickly realized there was too much for him to absorb all at once, so he willed it to circle around him, drawing as much as he safely could, then sent it right back at his opponent.

"I guess two can play that game." He muttered. As he attacked, sparks started jumping around his body again, bleeding off some of the excess energy. "Though to be honest, it's not really all that fun now."

OOC: *shrug* Doesn't specify. I figure that since certain powers have unfair advantages over others just by their nature, if something's written in there, there probably aren't any hidden restrictions. I know Raph wanted to avoid restrictiveness. Besides...where else would pure electricity come from?

IC: His opponent, unfortunately, could do the same thing. Marcus was glaring over his shoulder at the kid, anticipating the next absorption...but this little game of lightning volleyball was getting old very quickly. Marcus stopped short, absorbing the blast, but shooting it off into the sky. He couldn't stay here any longer, and fighting with this kid was time consuming at the least.

"We're obviously not getting anywhere. I can't afford to fight you anymore."

But I'm not fast enough to run away...not after what he did to my leg...hmm...I was able to lift him with that light stuff...maybe...No sooner had he had the thought was his body lifting itself through the air, that same ethereal light pulsating around his torso. Marcus grinned-that's exactly what he needed.

With his body still dancing with blue, yellow, and purple sparks, Marcus took off through the air, rising high enough to break the cloud line-he had escaped, but only barely. I need to get home before more weird shit happens...now to find my way home from the sky.

OOC: I figured you'd have to override your opponent's control over it first, which would make it difficult to do much else with it. But I see your point.

IC: The man had a point. There wasn't much either of them could do to hurt the other. However, at least Kyle had remained free of any major injuries. He figured he could just leave and wait for the police to come pick him up. However, the man surprised him yet again.

Once more, the man made some of that light, appearing just around him this time. Soon, it began to rise up, taking its creator with it. It made Kyle want to throw a fit. He supposed he could always try to strike it down with a lightning bolt: that had worked on the light earlier, but he was already too far to guarantee that would work, and quickly getting farther. Besides, the man would probably just absorb the electricity if he tried.

You mean that guy can fly! You have got to be kidding me. Well, at least I came out in better condition, but there's no way he's going to forget this. I'd better get ready for the next time we meet. For now though, I'd better scram before the police get here.

He ducked into an alleyway, removed his mask, and left, escaping just minutes before the police arrived.
