Marcus didn't have to exactly scope this place out for very long-it was just a McDonald's. Even so, he at least checked the parking lot for any cop cars. His little attempt here could go horribly wrong if a cop was in here from the start.

He walked into the restaurant and glanced around-there were a decent amount of people here, actually. In his mouth was a lit cigarette, taking no heed to the whole "don't smoke here" rule. He was much too criminal for that. He was important.

Now, the only question was how to proceed-did he want to take this slow and steady, or did he want to create panic? Decisions, decisions.

He decided on panic.

Marcus drew both of his pistols and raised them into the air. "Everyone in this shithole just lost their wallets! Get on the ground! Now!"

And thus panic did ensue, but only after everyone stared blankly at Marcus. Almost as if they really didn’t believe it was happening or really had all seen it before. The city had been getting rather dangerous of late. Everyone knew it or had felt it.

It was after the major lunch rush, so there wasn’t a whole lot of activity. There were quite a few people inside besides the McDonald’s crew. A woman and her two children, several regular looking folk, a couple of city workers.

At Marcus’ shout. The woman immediately yanked her children out of the booth and onto the ground. Covering them as best she could with her body. The rest of the lot were moving in various rates of panic.

Back in the back, the silent alarm had been triggered. Yes, even a McDonalds had silent alarms these days.

Marcus smiled, then issued more commands. He knew everything he needed to know by watching movies. This was gonna be a piece of cake.

"Everyone get on the ground, one hand behind your back, the other holding up your wallet! Do what I say and you all get to go home today! Do something stupid, and I can't make that promise."

Marcus would roam around, keeping his eyes on the patrons. His guns were ready-at the first sign of a regrettable action, the trigger would be pressed. Granted, he wasn't going to TRY to kill anyone...likely just warning shots. But he figured a shot or two could easily keep anyone from getting brave, or make anyone who felt like being brave piss their pants.

"Now, I'm gonna come by and collect your wallets. When I take yours, put your hand behind your back with the other one. Ladies, I expect purses. Expensive jewelry too-that includes wedding bands, watches, earrings...everything."

Marcus walked to the back, behind the counter, and got the biggest bag he could-that's how he was going to carry everything out. Had he planned ahead, he might have brought his own bag...but playing it by ear seemed to work fine.

Assuming everyone cooperated, he would walk around, holding the bag with one hand, and one of his guns with the other, waiting expectantly for his victims to put their belongings in the bag. When he was done with them, he'd move on to the registers.

Everything was going according to plan.

Everyone was complying to Marcus’ demands. People were dropping their belongings into his bag one by one. Until there was one fellow, still sitting in one of the booths. He had an odd look to him as he stared absently at the table. He was mumbling to himself too, as if speaking to someone else at his left.

Most of it was too soft to hear. “Poor boy, poor boy.” He mumbled to his left. “Doesn’t even know.” He went on. “Can’t figure.” Then he looked thoughtful for a moment. “No, not mine.”

The speaker was a somewhat dishelved looking man. Though his clothing was clean. All black. Black pants, black shoes, black hoody, black shirt underneath. His hair was a wild mess of brown with streaks of grey just starting.

Marcus couldn't quit smiling-his plan was actually working! People were really giving him their expensive crap! This was awesome! That is...he was smiling til he saw the emo or goth or whatever looking dude in the corner. He seemed a bit old to be following a trend, but that didn't matter-the bastard was ignoring Marcus!

Marcus clenched his bag in his hand and strode to the man's side. His gun would be placed beside the man's temple. Marcus had never killed before, and didn't want to over a stupid McDonald's robbery...but he didn't want his victims knowing that.

"Are you deaf or just stupid?! I said get on the damn ground!"

The man just chuckled at Marcus. “He’s pushy.” He commented to the ‘individual’ on his left. “Not deaf, no. Hear just fine.” He actually turned to look at Marcus with an eerie set of green eyes. They weren’t the normal eye color. No, they almost seemed a tad bit iridescent.

He looked the boy up and down rather appraisingly. It was quite obvious the man was not the least bit intimidated with the gun in his face. He actually seemed to be smiling. “Still young.” He mumbled again.

Then the color faded back to just a plain green color a moment later.

Marcus' eyes went wide at the bizarreness of the man before him. Granted, it wasn't exactly "that's terrifying" shocking, but it was at least a little unsettling, especially when he was trying to perform an honest robbery here.

"What the fu...GET ON THE GROUND! NOW!"

Marcus waved his gun around frantically in the man's face-he really didn't want to have to shoot anyone. He really hoped it wouldn't come to that. But this guy...he was weird. And he wasn't cooperating. There was a chance his hand would be forced, and then, it would be either run or shoot...and Marcus hated running.

"Just...just get on the ground!"

The odd man just tilted his head and continued to stare at Marcus. His eyes turning to focus on the waving gun, which was apparently starting to annoy him.

He closed his eyes and just sighed like an older fellow dealing with a hyper active youth. Then in a flash, his hand snapped up. Wrapping around Marcus’ wrist in a fierce grip. Steadying the weapon as his green eyes pierced through the boy’s.

“Waving your toy around does not make you any more intimidating.” He grumbled in a somewhat cheerful voice.

In the distance, the sound of sirens could be heard echoing across the city. The police were on their way.

Marcus panicked. His wrist was within the grasp of this strange man, and who knew what he was capable of? Even worse, now the police were coming! He had to get out of here, he had to run, he had to get away from this ma-BANG!

Marcus' weapon fired-he wasn't sure what direction it had been pointing in when it did, but he had a sinking feeling that this strange man had just taken a bullet. Shit! This was just supposed to be a damn robbery! Let go, dude! Marcus struggled against the man's grip, struggling to get away-he needed to get far away. This could be a murder, or at very least, an attempted murder. He wasn't ready to spend life in prison, no sir.

"Get off, you damn creep!"

The gun fired in Marcu’s panic. People in the room screamed in terror as the bullet hit the man in the shoulder. Or did it? The bullet pierced the window behind the man, in what could only be from through his body. Yet… there was no blood or hole. Only a slightly fuzzy looking section of the man’s shoulder and neck that was reforming into solidness.

The man smiled… no he grinned at Marcus. His grip tightening painful on the boy’s wrist, but not to the point of causing any damage. “Respect elders. We be old.”

He was quite aware of just how he was affecting Marcus and it seemed that he was enjoying it. He glanced out the window at the sirens and tilted his head to the left as if he was listening to someone. Then he sighed.

He released Marcus and shoved him hard enough to land on the floor. “Tick Tock, time don’t stop.”

When the man...reformed, Marcus' mood reached new levels. He was definitely freaking out now. The screaming idiots around him didn't help. He just kept pulling and pulling, and then he screamed at his hostages for screaming themselves and then-then the world changed. His own eyes began to glow, a deep violet as purple sparks danced across his body, then shot up and down the older man's body. Purple light, light that resembled the Aurora Borealis, seemed to come to life around his body, and encircled the elder man's hand. He would find his hand peeled back, even while his body still felt the purple sparks dancing across it.

Marcus cried out and fell backwards, his eyes regaining their dark color. Marcus grabbed his bag and ran out towards the back of the restaurant, praying for a back door. He really should have scoped this place out first-but who could have expected such a strange man here to disrupt his plans? And what the hell was that purple stuff about? What the hell did he do to me?

If he found a door, he'd run through it and put as much distance between himself and the restaurant as possible.

The man grunted and released the boy in a bit of surprise, but he was still smiling. His body hurting a bit at the unleashing of powers. Still it would take far more to take this man down to his knees. He withstood the attack.

He remained where he was as the boy fled. He took a deep breath, pushed his hands into his pocket and slowly strided out of the restaurant. “Task complete.” He mumbled at his left. His eyes flashing green before he vanished. Leaving the terrified people behind as if they were nothing.

Then he vanished around a corner as he heard the cops skidding to a halt.
