Leila sat there quietly and listened to what he had to say. It was all true of course. Her powers were weak; very weak. She shook her head and remained silent for a little longer.

So, this is real. I need to pull it together because I highly doubt I can live the rest of my life just ignoring the fact that I can talk to animals...and who knows what else. Plus if this is anything like the comic books then there are bound to be bad guys- er villians.

"Alright. I'm in. I'll do what I can to figure out my powers and..." Leila couldn't help but use air quotes, " "save the world" from bad guys." She felt absolutely ridiculous but at the same time she felt a sense of justice. A devious smile crept onto her face and she couldn't keep herself from laughing.

"Let's work together then. Y'know there was that league in a comic book, uhm... The Justice League? I can't believe I'm saying this, but that would be pretty awesome if we could make that. And I would definitely have to be Aquaman- well you know what I mean."

Leila was being dead serious. No more playing around. Besides the more she tried to think on the brighter side of it the more exciting and adventurous it sounded. She hoped that she could do more than talk to animals.

"Did she tell you what she had to do to make them appear? I wanna test this thing out a hell of a lot more if we're serious about this."

Phil was definitely relieved to hear that. Even with his collection of powers, being a superhero dude would be tough-tougher alone. And her "justice league" idea...well, that was interesting. If they could find more good guys, they might have to eventually give that a shot. As for the training though...well, Phil had no idea. He shrugged.

"She didn't necessarily SAY what she had to do to get all her powers...but I have a feeling it took time. We just need to experiment. Like...ok, not everything has useful abilities, but maybe you could copy your cat's...cat..like..reflexes? Yano, like cat-woman or something?"

It was a start, at least. Phil needed some practice too, specifically using more than one power at a time. Using more than one seemed to be exhausting, as was just doing big stuff. So...stamina and multi-tasking training, here we come!

"Then I guess that makes me a swiss army knife hero then." Phil laughed at his own kind of lame joke. This was really happening...they were really going to be superheroes!

"Cat-woman?!" Leila laughed so hard she had to stop herself from falling off the couch. Cat-woman had no powers at all. She was just like Batman right? She shrugged off the idea with another thought, "At least I have Rosco to practice with. I do remember I could use certain aspects of an animal...like super hearing and such."

Swiss army knife hero? Leila chuckled and patted his shoulder. "I know you're joking but please don't let that be your name. It's very... lame. Though that did give me the idea that we need disguises." What would hers be? Definitely not going for the leopard print or black spandex like Cat-woman.

Right then there was a knock on the door. Leila thought it would be a great time to try out her powers as she patted Rosco on the head, who had retaken his spot on her lap. She focused on smells, in hopes she would nab the smelling ability of a cat. Instantly an overpowering smell of Chinese food infiltrated her senses. Leila smiled, stood up and did a superhero pose. Ah I'm so good... yet so dorky. Laughing softly, she walked over to the door with the money in hand and opened the door. She made the transaction quickly and gave the delivery guy a 6 dollar tip- for just being so darn happy.

She turned around and placed the food on the coffee table and sat down beside Phil. "Well then. Let's eat!

Names? Costumes? The thought hadn't really occurred to Phil yet that maybe, just maybe, they couldn't go around throwing cars with their minds and blowing up buildings and...scratching...people...while looking like their good ole lovable selves. They did indeed need aliases. Aliasi? ...no, it's aliases. Anyways, they needed them.

Phil picked up a set of chopsticks, moved to break them, and stopped short-he never managed to get a perfect slit down the middle. Well, those days were over. Using his newly gained telekinesis, he slit the sticks right down the middle. He smirked, satisfied in his secret little cheat, and started eating.

"Canvas. Yano, like painting? Cuz...it's like every new power is a new color. And without those colors, the paper's just blank. And useless...but...ugh. It makes sense to me. What about you? Got any ideas of your own?"

"Canvas? It's interesting. I don't know the extent of my powers so it's hard to say, y'know?"

Leila too grabbed a pair of chopsticks and picked up some sweet and sour chicken. It wasn't her favorite but she was starving and it was the closest thing to her.

She kept thinking on the name idea though. Everything she thought of that dealt with animals sounded pretty corny. "What about Elle? It's sort of the first letter of my name, but eh. It's all I can think of on the top of my head. Lame I know."

Putting down the chicken she grabbed a box of the ham fried rice and made quick work of it. While chewing she wondered if she could talk to Rosco telepathically like that girl could. Without thinking about it she squinted her eyes and looked in his direction, which was now on top of the table in the kitchen. Sadly it didn't work, and she sighed softly.

Phil sat there and nodded, continuing to eat. He was much hungrier than he thought before...maybe a result of using his powers too much? Surely that stuff took energy...an increased appetite might just have to be one of those consequences Phil would have to suffer.

"Elle is good. It leaves people guessing."

The young "hero" just continued to sit there, enjoying his meal. Soon, it'd be time for him to leave. I couldn't have picked up a time-slow-down power? Dammit.

~~~Event Post~~~
Outside the window, a pillar of crimson flame erupted in the distance. The ground shook slightly-obviously, whatever it was was powerful. Above the pillar, a cloud of black that felt simply...evil extended out in every direction, almost a kilometer in distance. Something powerful and wrong was in the city.
As quickly as it appeared, the pillar vanished, and the cloud dispersed, leaving those who witnessed this phenomenon to wonder exactly what it was.
~~~End of Event Post~~~

Phil almost choked at the appearance of the pillar-but even he, with his eagerness to save the world, didn't dare leave that apartment. Whatever that thing was, it was out of his league. He was speechless-what could be said after THAT, after all?

OOC: Keep an eye on the news. This will be explained. For right now though, let's continue. Nothing's happening right this instant.

Leila put down her food and leaned back against the couch. Elle did sound kinda cool, compared to Aquaman. She nodded and decided that some of the food should probably head into the fridge since the two of them couldn't possibly eat it all.

Grabbing a few of the take-out boxes she walked into the kitchen opening up the fridge and placing them in the front; so they wouldn't get lost behind the Mexican and the Chicken Alfredo from a few days ago. Before she could put the last one in she heard Phil choking or at least it sounded like it, so she asked if he was alright as she peered around the corner.

"You alright? You know it's not going to run away from you." she chuckled at her own little joke, though it was sort of lame.

"Didn't you see? I...that...fire!"

Phil was pointing desperately out the window, trying to get Leila to notice the giant pillar of flame. Unfortunately, it seemed to have already been gone-kinda one of those "you've gotta be there" moments.

He doubted he'd be able to think about much else for the next few days. That sort of thing was insane.

"There was this big pillar...and there was fire...and...uh..."

Phil sighed and laid back-if she didn't see it, it would have been hard to explain. He almost wished he had taken that one girl's telepathy too...that could have helped the situation. Unfortunately, no. There was no mind projecting today.

"So...what do you wanna do now?"
