Alairis was pleased that she had managed to get them inside. She had been confidant in her trick, but you never really know sometimes. The mind is a tricky thing.
Taking in the sights of the plaza was new to her. She vaguely recognized a face here or there, considering her father was a important banking man. Though he was a bit too awkward and single-minded on work to care about any socializing.

Now she was a tad bit surprised when she was handed a glass of wine. Considering she wasn't exactly of legal drinking age to have it. Not that she hadn't had it before, she just didn't have much experience with alcohol. She sipped at it curiously. It had a nice taste to it. Though she knew to be careful with the stuff.

She smirked a bit as he chose the dare option. Hm... what to dare him to do? Well she wasn't going to be tooooo ebil about it. "I dare you...." She said drawing it out as she glanced around the room. "Move that lady's purse when she's not looking." She nodded subtly to a certain woman who had her purse sitting beside her, more or less absently forgotten. It would be funny if her purse suddenly appeared elsewhere when she went looking for it.

Alan smiled, rounding his glass before sipping on it. The purse he had to move was thier in his view and that was just so simple. The problem would be is the question. Where do you want the purse to go? He had a power to move things, not hide it but a purse could got at a speed which is considerably fast and swift and for a lady so absent minded it would be easy to hide the purse under her skirt without her knowing... Well, A dare is a dare and such it would be done.

Teleknesis such an amazing power and an invisible one as such it was perfect for that. He would wait a few moments before the purse would slide toward the end of the table and then it would drop down without a noise. Well, the movement wasn't quick at such an alarming rate but decent enough that withing a second or so the objective would be under the table it self.

"Soo... it shouldn't take long till the lady would start searching for it."

Then a slow song was placed on, well it was better than the rest of the songs played in this evening that it actually had a nice sound to it.

"If you would like to dance?"

He didn't ask if she was a good dancer, well seeing that the area made for dancing isn't exactly full... Someone who would dance either had to be a really good dancer or a brave soul with pride but then perhaps it was too empty that people simply walked and stood on the sides. Leaving the center for those who could actually dance.

Alairis couldn't help but smirk a bit, though she tried to hide it behind her hand and wine glass. "Nice." She said quietly.

She glanced at him when he asked her to dance. "Not my normal beat, but sure." She said with a somewhat mischevious smile. It melted away a bit as she glanced around the room at the numbers of people. Sure she liked, no loved, to dance... but not necessarily in front of others.

Moving towards the dance floor and waited for him. Trying to ignore the eyes of others.

He smiled, it seems Alan didn't know the type of dance his date was reffering to... Man it would have been much more fun if they went to a night club instead but in all honesty who would take his lady to a night club from the first date. He would hold his hand out as she gave it to him he would come his other hand slipping the wine off her hand and into the tray of a passing waiter, it won't be good if his date became drunk so early in the night from thier he would come closer placing a hand on her waist and then the lights would start to become dimmer near the dance area untill only shadows and outlines of figures could be seen in a distance all made possible by a certain teleknesis user and the light control panal being in view.

He would lead the dance as the song became louder, and more bold. It seemed more people began to dance too as the atmosphere became a bit more romantic with this slight adjustment to the lights.

"You know, I am a really lucky guy to have you as my date tonight."

Alan knew that he had a mission tonight and it might be dangerouse as the though crossed his mind but even then, he would enjoy this evening like he enjoyed every minute of his life before heading out in his errands.

~~~Event Post~~~
Doors, windows, any opening this place had, would crash open, and the establishment would be filled with both an unearthly crimson light, and a roaring heat. Those who made their way to the openings would see a pillar of flame rising from the ground almost a hundred meters away. The pillar was wide, as wide as a building, and rose high into the sky to meet a black cloud-the cloud could only be described as evil, and extended in every direction about one kilometer.
And then, as quickly as the pillar appeared, it vanished, restoring the natural lighting and temperature of the place. The cloud faded into nothingness, and the world seemed to return to normal. Whatever that was, it wasn't here to fight-it was here to send a message.
Something dark had found it's way to the city of Veritas. And it wasn't something to mess around with.
~~~End of Event Post~~~

OOC: Keep in eye on the news. This will be explained. Nothing's happening right now though, so please continue with your thread.

Alairis watched the lights dim low. Casting the world into a much more pleasant shade than the spotlight. It made it rather easier to relax for her. She passed off the glass and turned her focus to dancing. She was a good dancer. Smooth, graceful, and hip when she chose to be. For now nice and slow was perfect for the moment.

She tilted her head curiously at him. "Hm, but I wonder what kind of luck it is?" She asked teasingly. She still was unsure about this a bit, but she was content to see it through.

The lights would find themselves being meddled with by someone else now. Alairis let her power take hold of the lights, changing the colors to reflect the mood of the music. Rich hues of blues, purples, and more. All working to the rhythm of the sounds in practiced sync. It wasn't the first time she'd thrown a bit of a dance party.

Sure the people who owned the place might be a bit curious about the upgrade, but none of the regular folk would probably even notice.

But all thoughts of romance was quickly lost as windows and doors crashed open. Alairis jumped in surprise and clung a bit to Alan. There, out the window, she saw it. The pillar of flame clawing at the sky. She had never seen anything like it before and it frightened her. That much power was shocking. It felt, evil for the lack of a better explanation as well.

Her little light show forgotten, Alairis turned to him. Startled. "What was that." She whispered in uncertainty.

ooc: so very sorry for delay.

Alan has enjoyed this dance and the more lights that interfered from o'so heavenly person made it look holy, he danced along keeping up with his partner who was clearly stealing the show and the lights managment from him. It was a peaceful night, a decent date and Alan was able to come out not as a villan but a decent man with powers.

"I could guess."

He answered her with a smile as the Lights tangled around them in a somewhat romantic and graceful manner. Then Hell went loose, everything became shattered and nothing stood still as he would look through the broken windows Alan could clearly see that rising pillar of hell. It came from the depth of the ground and went as high... as the sky. He instinctly came closer to Alairis hands wrapped around her shoulder as she jumped in... Silence resided for a moment before every man or women, worker or not hurried them selves in a havoc bringing escape toward the gate into there car and off like the wind as fast they could.

"I'm afraid I have no idea but it's far from being good news."

Alan said, slowly moving toward the broken window still holding her hands, trying to figure out what happened to all those towers and buildings in a distance the restaurant was in that area and he shuddered at that thought. Even the Elemental maniac didn't have as much fire power, No... He knew for a fact it's a person with powers that did this, someone far outside his league.

"I'm sorry about this... I never thought the first date between us would be rudely interrupted like this."

He would stand near by and face Alairis, he was rather sad at the moment. He didn't know what happened to his friends at the resaurant nor how he would mend such a date.

"Would you like me to drive you home now?"

Alan head went down to the ground, for some reason he always blamed himself when something bad happened.

Alairis held onto his hand as they stared out into the city that was no likely going nuts. The fire had been something never seen before. Including herself who had seen many a strange thing. "Don't see how this could be good." She admitted.

She didn't really see why he was apologizing. Something like the flames of hell breaking lose wasn't exactly something they could predict. When he droped to the ground Alairis was puzzled and her face showed it. She opened her mind a bit trying to figure him out.

"Don't blame yourself, I had a nice time. But I'd rather get to the air. The streets are going to be chaos." She said thoughtfully. Then she smiled mischievously. "Do you like flying?" She asked.

Alan was good at sulking, then again she was great at finding out what people wanted. Alan wanted to stay longer with Alairis thats the reason he suggested going by car but this... Flying, stuck into his head. He had tried to levitate himself but his powers could only bring him a few feet above the ground and for a short period of time but to fly, he never did experiance being airborn in his life. Yes, he had his car and wasn't exactly coming from the richest family nor did he live with them no more.

"Yes."

He said shortly. He found it useless to try and run around in circles with Alairis, after all she could read minds and do other amazing things and she could fly. Yes, she could fly! He would hold hand with her, stand a bit closer waiting to fly.

Was it a good idea to fly when such a threat is around to be easily exposed by other super power villans. Well, it was night and the skys aren't exactly crystal clear. They should be fine, he would make it fine. This is my number... erm can I have your number oh this is mine.... argh... I need to ask for her number right after we land.

She smiled as he accepted it. Good, very good. Flying was something almost, well holy. She couldn't really explain it to anyone except by showing them.

"Come on." She grabbed his hand and lead him out of the building and into a dark corner, away from the panicked eyes of normal people. She grinned a bit wildly as she was always excited to take to the skies. "You'd best hold on."

She held his hand and concentrated. Below their feet a long board of light was forming. It was dull and very dark colored to not attract attention. After all, she'd done this more than a few times.

And then they rose into the air. Quick at first to get out of sight of eyes. Rising into the dark inky sea of stars and clouds. The air rushing past them as the lights of the city shown bellow. Dark eyes wandered briefly over it. It looked so much like a glowing circuit board. Though it was rather more chaotic than usual. No doubt over the hell fires.

Alairis relaxed utterly. Up here she was the master. Up here was absolute freedom and no limitations. "This is the best place in the world." She said happily.

Alan followed her, Walking into a dark corner and holdings hands. Anyone else would misunderstand such a thing if they paid attention, but the story was different. A board appearing under there legs which Alan doubtfully stared at, momentarily unfocused and then it rised. At first he felt he was riding one of those amusement park games, the joker which sends you up and then brings you to the ground forecfully.

This action caused Alan to bend his knee's his hand touching the board since it was what he considered solid ground at this point of time. A few moments later they were up, in the sky... So high and mighty. He stood back up, his eyes looking at the lights below the area left by the pillar of flames and then back to the dark skys.

Yes, it felt as though they were the above those people below, in every aspect they were or so it felt... a bit irogance and pride of standing there with Alairis had made Alan doze off looking at her but not directly at her.

"It really is elegant, Alairis."

He would try to ask for her number, yet he hesitated. Such a simple thing can't be this troublesome... He had done it many times though mostly the girls would leave there numbers with him but today he wanted it for himself, he was selfish yet he couldn't deny what he felt and from there Alan felt something change inside him, what was it he didn't know it ached and burned yet it was very gentle and smooth in a way. Is this the feeling you get when your heart is about to crack from pressure?

Another thing about rising above the average populous, up here it was quiet. The press of minds on her mental shielding was so much less it was almost laughable. It took a lot of will power to keep her shields against the on slot of so many minds. It was worse now, with the panic created by the flames. She could even sense bare whispers up here. Which she blocked quickly.

She had learned quickly that mind reading was just as much an advantage as it had been a curse.

Her black eyes drifted over the city, and couldn't help but gaze off where those fames had been. She wondered what sort of damage might be lurking there. She both wanted to know and didn't.

Pushing her worries aside she glanced at Alan. He was taking sitting up among the clouds rather well, he got some points for that. She smiled and sighed as she felt the troubles of life were sitting down below them. "Its almost like freedom." She said wistfully. "Being up here, no limits, no rules, and no one really notices since people have a hard time looking up."

She wove her fingers a bit and the light expanded and two seats formed. "I don't think you're in too much of a hurry?" She asked. Sitting back on to her 'seat' she studied him curiously. She knew there was something on his mind, though she refrained from reading it. Yet she could feel the pressure of it against her shields. People who worried or focused something always seemed to be 'louder' than others.

Alan was back to reality when she started to speak, after all it was rude to doze off while someone is addressing you. He took a seat adhereing what she said. Was he in a hurry tonight? Well, in all truth he had plans for tonight which continues after the dinner at the restaurant which now seemed impossible to reach or see what happened to it. He had a night job that starts at midnight, a job he no longer becomes Alan but takes on another name... Phantom which now would need to eradicate an extremist weird cult or atleast figure out why such a cult appeared from no where and suddenly increased in number .

He also wanted to get her number before this night ends, too many things to do but if done one at a time he could possibly acheive his goals.

"Not exactly in a hurry."

Alan answered her question, taking in the scenery below him, his hand under his chin holding it as he crossed his arms this place really do make people free, makes them more prideful... and imaginary.

"I just didn't want to end this night without asking you out to dinner, perhaps If you'd like I could prepare something for you at my place."

Alan had done his best for now.

Alairis as a bit hesitant at first, not for the invitation to dinner, but rather it being at his place. She didn't trust going to other people's homes so quickly. Then again she WAS a mindreader, so she'd be able to pick up any bad thoughts quickly.

"A guy that can cook? That's new." She asked in a half tease. "Well, that sounds rather nice." She admitted with a smile.

She drew a card out of a pocket in her jacket. Flipped it once or twice in hesitation then offered it to him. "This is my number if you need to reach me." She said. "No odd hour dialing unless it's an emergency, please." She asked or rather pleaded a bit. While Alairis was rather forgiving of most things, calling at freakishly early hours just to say Hi was irritating.

Alan chuckled at her remark, wondering why women in general think that men are but feasting beast incapable of cooking but in reality the best cooks are men. In most restaurants, many men are the ones working in the kitchen and the head chef is most likely a man though Alan ability at cooking was no where near perfect.

Then he looked at her taking out a paper, and thus he would stare at the paper. Then it seemed as though he had won the lottery all of a sudden he jumped into the sky shouting to the top of his lungs and crying in joy, yet that was all in his mind as he knew that sounding too eager was a bad thing. He would slowly reach out taking the paper, taking a glance at the number before taking out his own business card -yes. he had those since after all writing down his number on a paper after a slip after a napkin usually tire someone out- he would hand it over.

"If you need anything from me especailly in emergencys... here is my number."

From there Alan would become quite before giving directions to where he lived, a rental two roomed apartment at the first floor of a regular building, you'd have to climp up the stairs outside to reach said place, the place where his powers were first brought out. Why would he need two rooms? In all truth he didn't but the apartment came with it's own car garage and he was and still is a car maniac in some way and the apartment was not exactly dirty compared to other bachelors living alone yet he had recently bought his groceries and would most likely have enough ingrediants to cook something decent.

She took his card curiously and glanced it over. "I hope there won't be any emergencies." She said as she passed a quick glance over to where the flames had erupted. Somehow though, she thought that was only a beginning.

Alairis turned her thoughts to something far less ominous. Directions to Alan's house. She paid rapt attention so she wouldn't forget anything. She was also peaking into his mind a bit, to get 'images' too of what he was describing. That would help her locate the place even quicker. "So what time and day?" She asked curiously. Since they hadn't really agreed on one yet. "And anything you'd like me to bring?" She wondered. Alairis was always the kind of girl that liked to pitch in. She had always been active and quite a bit independent since early childhood. That's just how the artist in her was.

Sadly the futrue wasn't looking all that bright with all the flames running around from hell thus getting a bit of contacts around was good. Either way he needed a day and time... not too far so she wouldn't forget yet not so soon with all the chaos coming about. A week perhaps.

"Same day next week my place, say at 9:30 night."

Then about bring anything. Well, he had everything he needed at home or so he thought if not he could buy but then perhaps saying no was rude when she offered it herself.

"You don't really need to bring anything, but you could bring something sweet."

Alan smiled, atleast this date won't be the last one with her grace.

Alairis nodded. "Same day next week." She confirmed. She'd have to write it down once she got home of course, but that's what calendars were for.

Well at least he picked something easy. Sweets were everywhere and so many sorts to pick from. Course that made a problem of just WHAT to pick, but she was sure she had no issues browsing and/or 'testing' a few items. All in the name of science. That was her excuse. "Fine by me." She agreed.

Now she got to glancing about. "Guess we should find your car now." She said. It was probably time they split to the four winds. She located it easily enough, thanks to the mental map she had of the area. She sat up from her 'seat' and indicated he do the same. She let if vanish soon as his tush wasn't on it. Then her board of light began to move. Slowly so it didn't unnerve him or attract attention. Then she picked an ally near to his car and started her decent. She landed with ease, hovering just a couple of inches off the ground. "We'll, here's your stop." She said as she watched him. "I had a good time, despite the weirdness." She said clearly with a smile.

She waited only long enough to watch him leave, before shooting skyward again. Disapearing into the darkness.

Alan stood up again, as they started to descend toward his car. Atleast the two would meet again and this won't be the last date hopefully. Puffing into smoke and appearing on the ground, Alan would look up with a smile.

"Weird, I thought were supers afterall."

That was a bit teasing, if not just a passing comment. For now he would have to go smoke some Cult, after all he had work to do... Even if he wasn't feeling like killing anyone tonight.

"I'll see you later, but it seems my car is going to wait for a bit more."

Alan would slip on his ring, smoke would appear and his clothing, hair and eyes would change to his other person phantom.

"Bye."

He said as he poofed into smoke.
