Alairis was far from pleased at this whole arrangement, but she was going to at least put some effort into it. She had made a promise after all.

So she dressed nicely. Which for her an about change from torn, scribbled, and multi-color from paint class. Instead she was wearing a rather sunny looking outfit. A pale yellow jean jacket sat over a white V-cut shirt. She also wore a short tan skirt with a twist rope belt.

She arrived at the designated place without a costume or mask. It wasn’t as if he knew her real name at least. It would also be awfully suspicious if they went about with her having a mask on. So no mask. She glanced around and also quickly locked onto his mind. It sure is easy to find someone when you’re a mind reader.

Alan has been working, wearing a suit like anyother employee in this place and since this is a high quality shop and one specialised in suits all thier employee were dressed with the best clothes around. Yes, quite good to be in a suit just before a date... It made getting ready far more easier. He looked at his watch, as the clock ticked.

(She is going to pass this door anytime now and that damn new weed didn't come to takeover yet.)

Alan had a frustrated look with the mental image of kicking the new guy right in the face for coming late, then he slowed down looking at the time once more, his shift should have finshed at eight... and he got a date soon, followed by a very late afternight job he needs to handle that really was a busy day for Alan. He sighed slowley as he bended the shirt in his hand and folding it into a clear cut edge before placing it on the shelf.

(I hope she wouldn't get dissapointed with the look I have right now... Oh right she is a mind reader and I've never seen her face perhaps she is... Nah)

The thought of her being inside the store distrubed him as he looked around at the ladies inside, while would women come inside such a job. Well, Because most of them are thier with thier hubby or ordered to come and fetch a tie or something for thier boss and some just come here for eye-candy... Yeah, the boss never hire a man who isn't the least handsome to some point. Thier was this girl with a pony tail wearing glasses... she had the same build but her face was somewhat of a bulldog, the next one was a pig with her overshallow laugh. It made Alan nervouse, but then she seemed like a nice lady and as a gentlemen he would go on a date with her even if she had one eye and a crooked mouth just because it wasn't simply right to run away after litrally asking for it.

Alairis read his thoughts and those of the other people on the outside of the shop. She was still having second thoughts about showing her true self to this person, but a promise was a promise. She did have to raise her eyebrow at some of the women in there. Their minds were definitely not exactly on the shoping. Oh well, not her problem.

She opened the door and walked inside. Browsing the merchandise absently. After all, her dad shopped her often. Might as well look ahead for holiday shopping.

Tossing her black hair back over her shoulder she wandered her way towards Alan. He seemed rather busy working, but he knew he was looking for her. She found it kinda funny actually, peeking at his thoughts of the other ladies.

“Suits aren’t bad.” She said to him as she approached from his blind spot. “But yes, you were asking for it.” She grinned mischievously as she studied him with her black eyes.

Alan simpley eyed the shirt infront of him as the doors kept on opening and closing, if only that lazy ass newbie would walkin right now! the door opened but since it lacked the usual extra loud salute and extremely shallow snicker at the back... It seemed that he hasen't came yet. He kept on wondering about this date of his, the reservation he made and the fact that she may not even show up kept him on edge and then a sound came from behind.

“Suits aren’t bad.”

Alan sighed as he slowly placed the shirt in his hand and adjust his face to the poker face he normally uses for customers but before he was able to turn the sentence was complete.

“But yes, you were asking for it.”
Alan eyes widened as he quickly and suddenly turned around a 180 degree on his right leg his right hand laid on his waist while the second went behind his back.

"How may I help you? My lady."

It was abrupt, and it happened quite often in his stay around here... the unwanted attention of perverted ladies who can't keep thier hand to themselves and it just happened that today was one of those were a women tried to grab it for some weird reason or another. Well, that was what was going in his mind before he opened his eyes and took a good look at the person infront of him.

"Eh...."

Alan couldn't help but become dumbfound by the person infront of him that he was almost staring, should he turn around again? A teleknetic slap brought the senses back to it's proper place. This girl infront of him could be his date and he just had this.... Such a bad start for a date with a mind reader.

(Could you be Illu? Well, I am Alan nice to meet you.)

Alan peeked from over her shoulders to see if that freakin employee came yet sadly it was to no vain.

Alairis watched him with her black eyes that glittered in amusement at his reaction. A smirk curving her lips every so slightly as she giggled quietly as turned about.

She just let him sit there in puzzlement for a few moments before she reached her hand out to shake his. “Hi there, I’m Illu.” She said. Confirming his question. “Nice to meet you.” She smiled. Perhaps this wasn’t going to be as horrible as she thought?

“Well… I was told to be here around this time by a certain person.” She raised a playful eyebrow at him.

Alan could not but give her his hand, he hesitated a bit but apparently she was human. Why would he even think about that beats me but since she was a mind reader Alan felt like being handicapped all the way to the slaughter.

"A- a pleasure to meet you."

Alan said as the handshake was made before he would retrieve it and then with a smile he would reply. She was definatly playing with him, nowing what he was thinking and the reason behind his reaction should amuse her for this evening atleast.

"Well, it seemed that certain person got held up in work by a very late co-worker."

It has already been some time since he looked at his watch but it was clear that man was late. Well, the door soon opened and thier came a blonde with spunkey hair slowly entering the shop.

"Hey Alan!"

The fact he was wearing a similar suit to the employees couldn't help but make him one of them. He stopped as soon as he took the first few steps... looked at Alan and then gave a goofy smile just like the one a wing man would give which also ment (Score!).

"Oh your busy... It's okay I'll be waiting outside."

He turned around only to find the door slaming to his face and dropping him to the floor before he clutched his head as though someone has pushed a nail into it... good thing he didn't shout as a strong push to the temple of the head should keep him in pain for the rest of the day. Alan only kept a straight face at what happened as he was responsible for what happened.

"It seems we can go now."

Alan said giving his hand to Illu in hope she would take it as he would walk past the counter throwing some keys and his working card over them as he walked passed the blonde on the ground.

"Clean up before closing."

Alan ordered the man only to find the man lip saying awesome... perhaps it was because Alan was leaving with Illu and what was going in his mind was nothing that Alan wouldn't get upset over it.

Alan was right that she was getting quite a bit of amusement out of the situation. Being a mind reader had its bonuses.

At the mention of a late coworker; it seemed the fellow had arrived and then proceeded to leave. Or tried. Her brow quirked a bit as the man was smacked by the door. She wasn’t going to question it too far, as she had read the late fellow’s mind and his lazy tendency.

So she couldn’t quite chide Alan for taking action. Though it was a tad bit more extreme than her personal preference.

Alairis took his hand and stepped clear around the man on the floor and took their leave.

"So, where to now?" She asked curiously.

'I would hate to keep her waiting for no good reason, I just hope she would forgive those who has faults with no excuses.'

Alan passed by the man, as he went out her hand in his own as he held it. Her skin touching his like a snow flake falling on the ground. She is rather pale, white to the point of her being an albino, yet her hair with those white strands had thier own charm. Alan only wondered if she would like italian food, pasta in particulare.... but then from outside the shop they would need to reach Alan car.

"Lets have a short walk."

It wasn't parked too far away from the shop itself, thus they would have to walk till the parking lot close by. Not much to be said as Alan didn't have any words to describe what was going in his mind, he lacked the diction to describe what he wanted... He only wondered if his jumbled up feelings would have reached her.

They walked down the street, hand in hand his eyes meeting her face everyonce in a while before it would return foreward just like most teenagers with a faint blush... It was a bit awkward to be with someone you actually like but then it was also scary to fall in love with someone who could read what was in your mind and thoughts.

"Ehm..."

Alan Tried to break the silence if she wouldn't start speaking, he really needed something to talk about... would be weird to talk about thier powers and such in a date but then he had this one question in his mind that he thought would be a good point to discuss.

"Soo I do not know if I would be right by guessing that you do art?"

Alan has always wondered about her powers but then her way of clothing, the last tinme they met and the way she uses her powers indicated one thing... She was more focused on pretty colors than strong ones.

“Okay.” A walk didn’t bother her at all. She was wearing comfortable enough shoes after all. So she meandered with him in no particular hurry. She didn’t say much either. Honestly, she didn’t know what to say? Hi, you attacked us and we had a nice cheery battle of superhuman abilities. So what’s your favorite color? … yeah, this wasn’t exactly what one would call a normal date episode.

She knew he was looking at her now and again. Not that she minded. She had to admit he wasn’t bad looking out of his costume getup. It was also obvious he was nervous knowing her little mind reading ability. She couldn’t blame him in that. She’d probably be having the same issues in his place.

Alairis turned her black eyes to him as he asked his question. “Yes actually.” She said somewhat surprised he’d caught on to that. “I’m majoring in art at the collage.” She said honestly.

Then she hesitated a moment. “You know…. If my little… um…, gift, is making you nervous. I can kinda turn it off?” She offered uncertainly. Alairis hadn’t realized how much of a crutch it had become to her, till she thought about turning it off. She still didn’t entire trust him, but she could give him the benefit of the doubt and perhaps a little peace.

{Turn it off?}

Alan thought about it giving her a glance, it made him wonder if it would be right to stop her gift. Well, would it be right if he was in her place... If he was really givin the choice to choose and if she was seriouse with that probosition Alan would really think hard about it.

"You don't have to worry about me... You will find that I adapt quickly."

Alan said with a smile on his face, this wouldn't be a date if he had to ask for rules and don'ts... It wouldn't be as fun.

"Besides who am I to even have the slightest right to ask you anything in that matter? I sure wouldn't like it If I had to stop my own... I guess a gift is not the right word in my case."

Alan had a gloomey time when he had found his powers, it would have seemed that he may have lived his whole life without finding it but alas somethings simply happens for no reason at all.

{Those damn thugs...}

Alan free hand slightly twiched in annoyance with the thought that passed by his mind, the thought of being shot right down his chest and beaten to death... Well, it seemed Alan has really died once or so he thought but in all truth he was just reborned a new. shaking the thought out of his head Alan had to focus his attention on the lady by his side.

"Soo as we walk, I would like to ask you a couple of questions."

Alan said in a bit of a mischeviouse manner, an almost bratty one at that as his free hand went to push back his glasses.

"What would you expect to happen in this date?"

Alan would wait for her answer but then the following question would be a bit more pushing.

"Do you think that two power owners like us could ever have a normal life? perhaps a happy ending with a kiss."

He said as they walked, he also thought of taking shortcuts or simply puffing into existance but then this is suppose to be a date, why would he want to hurry up whats happening.

Alairis had to wonder as he rejected her offer to block her powers. She wasn’t sure if she was more confused or more grateful. She blinked and smiled a little. “Okay then. Fair enough.”

The images that filtered through his mind were a little disturbing, but she wasn’t about to ask about them. It seem like a rather sore and traumatic experience that could changed he mood of things. She did store it in the back of her thoughts for later.

She perked up curiously a bit as he started a round of questions. One black eyebrow rose at his mischievousness as she paid close attention to him. She thought about his first question a moment. “Honestly, not really sure.” She had originally thought it would be nightmarish, but now she wasn’t so certain.

His next questions were a bit more in depth, give or take. She pondered it a moment. “I doubt two individuals such as us could ever have a truly normal life.” She said a little sadly. She had tried to live normally, but still she had become mixed up in things beyond her understanding.

She chuckled a little and glanced at the bold man. “We shall see now, won’t we?” She said in a tone that didn’t hint one way or another. Since she didn’t know how things would end. She wasn’t that kind of psychic.

“Now a question for a question.” She said tauntingly. “What is it that made you accept the bargain?” She asked. “I wasn’t exactly the most… pleasant one there.”

Alan kept a straight face, he was used to asking things like this. He is as bold as someone can be but yet he can also give many subtle hints instead and for now it seemed that... Things were going well.

Her answer made Alan a bit more confident, simply because thier was a ray of hope on that matter... the other one seemed a bit depressing but Alan wouldn't miss the previouse life he once had, it was no longer him.

The question she asked, surprised him to some point infact it was weird for this type of girl to ask. What made Alan accept the bargain? Why did he choose her? Why... Why... and Why? these questions all seemed to jumble up togather into one big gaigantic question with one simple answer that Alan already had.

"Your eyes... your lips... your voice... My intution chose."

It meant variouse things but it was true that she seemed the most appropriate one around. Someone who he might actually be in love with, not to mention care for... Beside quality over quantity right? or perhaps it was the other way around.

The parking lot was now inview, the second car of the second row. A black sport car, two seats a small back seat and a big trunk and variouse things. Everyman had a hobby or something to pay for and spend into. Some had families, some had hoes and other had cars, planes etc... Alan would when they reach the car lot slide his hand in his pocket and with a peep from his keychain the car would blink.

Opening the doors manually for the lady, and then going to his own... Alan would then slide in and place the keys inside and with a twist the engine would start running. The A.C too along with the front lights.

His answer left her a bit taken aback. She was unsure how to respond to it. It sounded like a complement which she was not exactly use to getting. Sure, guy’s had said plenty of nice things to her over the years. Never though, when she was hostile or fighting them.

So she remained silently thoughtful as they apparently neared his car. She hesitated for the briefest of moments before getting in then did so. Being locked in a car with another super was a new experience for her. She was far more use to doing things on her own and taking to the freedom of the skies.

“Thanks.” She said with a somewhat shy smile as he opened the door for her. Sliding down into the seat carefully, because she had a skirt on.

The car was nice. She had to admit. A lot nicer than she’d ever been in. Not that her family didn’t have money her parents just weren’t the… sporty type. It gave her a funny nightmare-ish image of her father (the banker) in a sports car. He probably wouldn’t even know how to drive it. Her mother was more the flower painted, beat up, old car type. Or as she says ‘a car with character’.

“Nice car.” She said as she looked about, taking in what views she could.

Alan wasn't surprised when the lady complemented his own car. After all this car has consumed a large amounth of his monthly salary from the shop, it was after all the reason he worked. This car was his hobby, friend and companion nothing more nothing less that that.

"Thanks. This car is one demanding child and I try my best to get her the best at everything."

Then Alan pressed the pedal and off they went, out of the parking lot and into the streets going back the same way they just walked by. A few silent minutes in the car has passed and they finally stopped at an intersection.

[Red lights.]

It was a bit weird inside this car, it seems that for once Alan couldn't flirt soo naturally with a lady in his car... Not could he start a simple conversation but he had to try his best.

"Soo... since we met in the most abnormal way ever, lets have a small game to break the ice."

He said with a smile before completing.

"Truth or Dare."

Alan almost laughed at his proposition, it seemed childish but it was a good way to start off a date when these two didn't know one another.

"You may start."

If it was thing that always puzzled Alairis a bit, it was about men and their cars, or boats, or whichever. That and they all insisted on refuting to them as ‘female’. She just shrugged it off and kept her interest tuned on the man.

Alairis chucked a bit in agreement. Their meeting was far from normal in any meaning of the word. She tilted her head a bit and studied him with her black eyes curiously. “Truth or Dare?” She wondered and a small laugh. Sure it was childish, but it could also be rather fun.

“Alright.” She said with a grin. “Truth.”

Once he’d ask his question she’d offer him the same options. “Truth or dare?”

"Alright, for the first question I'll ask something simple."

Alan said with a smile on his face, he would quickly filter through his thoughts and question... removing undecent and unappropriate questions like the three sizes, and any complicated and difficult ones like family issues and with what was left he would choose the one he thought would be easy to answer.

"What is your first name?"

Alan asked giggling inside his mind, this question was far too easy but it would be better in a date if he would address her with her first name than a nickname received from her disguised name and after hearing her answer Alan would answer her own, with a simple.

"Truth."

Most of the time you may think that you have nothing to hide but deep inside every single person holds a pundle of secrets no one else should know.

Alairis set up the barrier around her mind. It would be more fun if she didn’t know what was running through his noggin. That and she wouldn’t mind a few interesting surprises.

She waited patiently as he asked his question. Her eyes flicking over to him with a small chuckle. Well she wasn’t upset at him wanting to know her name. “Alairis.” She admitted with a smile.

Then it was her turn for a questions. She pulled on that ‘pondering’ look of her’s as she tried to think. Simple seemed to best option for now. Complicated perhaps if they got more comfortable with one another. “Can you dance?” She asked with a mischievous smile.

On the next question she’d ask for a Dare.

"I am a pretty good dancer actually."

Alan replied with a smile, Alairis that was a good name. The lights went from red to green in a blink and the car started to move. Followed by Alairis choosing a Dare, now what would be intresting for a super to do... Dare her to do something that is not normal even for thier kind. Well, the only Idea he had was fairly simple yet it was annoying and abnormal.

"I dare you.."

Alan voice dragged on into silence as he turned to face her and he smiled. The sort of thing that you see in cartoons when someone actually fell into a trap. As he speeded off, to a location he knew so well. It was a big building, a red carpet infront, photographers and fans all around and Alan slowed down and slide into the flow, stopping beside the red carpet.

"To get us inside their from right under thier nose."

Alan would then crept out of his seat, going around the car as the janitor would open Alairis side of the car.

"Shall we?"

Alan said giving her a hand. The game would continue as soon as they got inside hopefully without trouble.

Alairis was paying keen attention to him as he spoke. She was curious just what sort of thing he might come up with. Considering she was probably going to have to do it, it was of great interest to her anyway.

'Oh get on with it man!' She thought to herself as he dragged out his answer for a few moments. The grin he gave her though made her suspicious of what was going through his head. It looked like she'd fallen into a trap, hopefully it was a fun trap.

Her face went blank with thought and not a little bit of surprise. She hadn't quite faced something like that. All the people there too, made her a bit nervous. Taking her picture and all. Media were usually bad news to supers.

She put a bold front on though. Even if she did grab his hand a bit tighter than normal as she glanced about at all the people and flashing of cameras. What the heck was this place?

Still, she wasn't about to back out of a challenge. Especially not the first one. She walked boldly and put on a indifferent show to the flashing cameras. Just like somebody important might. Walking up the door man he'd ask for their name. Which she'd make up a name of course. "Alairis Smith." She'd say. Tossing the most generic last name out there. The man would start to scan the list and that's when Alairis went into action. Using her little mental abilities to 'trick' the man's mind into thinking he saw the name. Basically implanting a brief memory into his head. Similar to the images she'd forced into Alan's head.

It wasn't the first time he'd used that trick. Though not quite like this.

Alan was a bit nervouse inside as to what Alairis would do, walking along the red carpet toward the gaurd at the door with the list in his hand. He wouldn't show much expression as Alairis said her name... Well, the first was hers but then he wondered if the second was true too. The man in black seemed to blankout for a moment as he viewed the list but in the end he gave way as he stepped to the side.

"Welcome to the Plaza."

The two would soon walk inside the entrance, along the hallway and into the party hall. Well, knowing the atmosphere it was clear that this party wasn't some normal gathering as it involved men and women from all ages who were very well dress... Alan also noticed a couple he had served before in buying from the store. There was a large space in the middle of the hall, a polished white marble floor along with tables from all sizes spread around the empty space. They were all covered in white sheets and matching silverware. The music was classic and slow though good for dancing no one seemed to have the guts to step foreward to the dance floor.

Waiters moving around with trays filled with small bites of food and glasses of drinks were around, As Alan took two glases of red wine... Beside the waiter with the champange was a bit far away.

"Dare."
He whispered to her ear as he offered her one of the glasses from there he would look around while moving out of the hall entrance, toward the tables.
