Phil was unphased by the kitty's attempts to annoy him. For a while, at least. After a few minutes of getting a tail to the face, Phil shifted over to the side, out of the way of the tail. Good thing that's not annoying at all. On the tv, there was something going on about Angels and a huge mass of Reapers. Apparently, having so many in one spot was a really, really bad thing, since one of the character's was freaking out over it. Phil reached over to the cat's tail and absentmindedly began stroking it as he watched the show. Cats were usually softer than dogs, at least. Phil soon found himself absorbed in the show and stopped petting the cat's tail as something big was obviously going down on tv. |

Rosco flicked his tail back and forth slightly annoyed by the stroking of his tail, but it was attention nonetheless. He meowed and sat up, jumping down onto the seat and sitting by the stranger transfixed on him for some reason. He began purring. Leila finished drying and straightening her hair. She put on some fragrance and dressed with her usual spaghetti strapped top and blue jeans. She stopped the music and walked out in the living room to find her cat actually being social with someone. "Glad you were able to preoccupy yourself. Rosco likes you I suppose. He's not usually friendly like this." By this time Rosco had laid next to Phil with his eyes closed and his back up to his leg giving him the opportunity to rub his belly if he so wished. Leila shook her head. "Ready to go somewhere? Not sure where that is just yet, but we can improvise." Leila headed for the door. |

Phil nodded and turned off the tv, scratching the cat's belly one last time before leaving. He'd walk past Leila, letting her get the door (it was her apartment, after all...she should be the last one out) and started heading back down to his car. "You're cat's friendly, at least." When the pair got back down to the car, he'd sit there for a few seconds, apparently thinking about something. Mostly, what they were going to do. "No ideas at all? We could do dinner and a movie, but that just seems so old and used up. Plus, we can't really talk during a movie, yano?" Nevertheless, Phil would start his car and start backing out, apparently just wanting to drive. "Feel free to call out any ideas." |

Leila shrugged her shoulders. Rosco could be friendly but not to complete strangers. Ever. It was odd, but she didn't want to worry about it. She was racking her brain on what to do when they got to the car. "I agree. It is a tad old. I know a park we could walk around. Plenty of time to talk, though I'm not sure walking around a park is what you would call exciting." Sighing, she buckled up as he backed up and started driving. As the day was passing on she had kinda wished she had grabbed her jacket before she left, but it was too late now. Letting her mind wander she couldn't help but let a smile spread across her face. This could well be considered a date, and she hadn't been on one in quite some time. It was nice. She was comfortable and she liked the guy, plus he wasn't creepy or incredibly annoying like the last two dates. She decided to say what came to mind. "So, would you consider your day a good one? Got yourself a fantastic drink, a good conversation, and a date." |

Phil laughed and nodded. "Yea, so far it hasn't been that horrible, I must admit. Park sounds good, by the way." She said the D-word. Sweet. Phil kept himself from smiling at that thought and would drive wherever Leila led him. "I haven't been on a date in a while. Not since high school, I don't think...yea, not since high school. I don't get out much." True enough. Most of Phil's time was spent at the shop, working on whatever new piece of junk Gerard hauled in. Phil worked as an apprentice mechanic for a middle-aged man named Gerard, or G, as Phil usually called him. It wasn't an "official" job, but it payed well enough. G usually payed Phil under the table to avoid tax issues, and Phil wasn't one to complain. He was learning a decent thing to learn, he was making money, and for the most part, he enjoyed the work. Plus, his boss wasn't a total douche, so that was cool. "What time I don't spend working is usually spent at home, or working on my car here." That was slightly less true. The car didn't have much left to do to it. Phil had restored it about as well as he could-of course, that was a fairly recent development. Hence his trip to the carnival, his meeting with the fortune teller, and the cryptic message that he needed to meet some very special people...Phil's friends hadn't thought much of it, but Phil did. When he heard it, he almost felt as if he knew what the woman meant, but as soon as he left her tent, he forgot, and couldn't recall what she had meant by it. It was a major disappointment. |

"Alright the park it is. You're going to keep going straight for a while and it'll be on your right soon enough. Can't miss it." Leila was proud of herself. Usually she was quiet and didn't say much, because she felt whatever she said was silly or just sounded stupid. She smiled and looked over at Phil who kept his face blank. She hoped it was a good thing, though she couldn't help but think not. "You should get out more often, though who am I to say? I've got as much social interaction as my cat. That's slightly depressing, right?" She chuckled and opened up his glove compartment, thinking the offer to search was still open. She flipped through some good ones, but happened on a CD that she could listen to over and over again. "Breaking Benjamin? Noway! This is my favorite band. And to that previous question before, y'know the 20 questions. My favorite color is Red. I didn't want you to think I was rude by not answering. Yours?" Leila popped in the CD and smiled. "So you're a mechanic, eh? I never knew much about cars. Not that I don't care about them, just...well never got into it. The car looks fantastic by the way." I may not know much, but this car looks hella great! Wish I had a car of my own. Hm, works on cars, likes dogs, and a sense of humor. I think this is going quite well. |

Her tastes don't suck. She likes animals. And she acts like she doesn't know how cute she is...I think I win. Phil let himself smile a bit at the thought of winning-as if this were a game. "My favorite is green." Phil was contemplating getting into a discussion about the work he had to go through on this car-and then he thought better of it. Surefire way to ruin a good thing was to make the other person feel like they had nothing to contribute to the discussion. "Way to waste your first question on a mimicked question, by the way." Phil laughed and continued speaking, spouting off the first question that came to mind. "Favorite animal?" |

Leila smirked and tapped her hand on her lap in tune with the music- she couldn't help it. She couldn't believe how good of a time she was having. Her mind kept wandering off and the thought of that day happened across her mind. It would be something interesting to talk about, but a bit odd for a random conversation. Maybe another time. "Green? I like green. It's earthy. And as for favorite animal, I don't have one. I like them all." That question gets me every time. I swear I'm just going to pick one and use it next time. "And by the way, I don't play this game often. I don't know all the rules, mister smarty-pants." Leila stuck her tongue out at Phil and laughed. She hoped he would joke around with her. He seemed the type. Now she had to think of a question for their game. "Favorite superpower?" She thought it was a nice touch, since she was acting a bit childish. And what boy doesn't dream of having a superpower? |

And she got him with one he couldn't answer. "Nice one...I don't have one. Not that I haven't thought about superpowers...I was a huge comic nerd back in the day...but I can't pick just one. There's so much out there that would be awesome." Phil found the park, and they pulled up to an empty space. He turned off the car, then got out, locking it behind him. "Remember to lock it behind you...I haven't quite figured out how to install an electric lock yet." Phil got out and walked ahead of her, hands in his pockets as he thought up a new question. The good ones had been mostly exhausted. "Silver or gold? As in jewelry, I mean." |

Leila got out of the car and locked the door behind her. She loved this park. She used to walk it with her dog and her parents. A couple of dates had taken her here, however they all went sour right around the closed off area. Tried to pull a fast one on her...a very fast one at that. She sighed and followed behind him. "I'm not a huge fan of jewelry. Not of sliver and gold, but I'd have to go with silver. I think it's prettier, plus it's used in monster movies. It'll save your life!" Trudging along she followed the sidewalk along the little lake that was the center of the park. She could see some turtles and some geese out in the middle of the lake enjoying the last bit of sunshine for the day- maybe a couple more hours. She wandered over to an iron bench and sat down, patting the seat beside her beckoning him to sit down. "Let's see here. What's your favorite snack?" Thinking about that is making me a bit hungry. Hehe. I wonder if the squirrels are going to come as close as they did last time. |

Phil sat down next to Leila, pondering the extent of her dorkiness. It was incredibly cute, so far. Maybe that's why he couldn't stop smiling around her. He just felt...good. "Apple sauce comes to mind pretty quick." Phil looked around, taking note of everything around him. The animals seemed to be acting weird. They weren't as skittish as usual. He looked back at Leila and felt a wave of...goodness wash over him. That was about as well as he could describe it. It was happy and warm...strange. "This is a pretty decent place. Do you come here a lot?" |

Leila laughed and turned and looked at him. "Applesauce? Funny you say that, I saw a video about Applesauce just yesterday. Weird." She turned and looked around for the squirrels. They were so cute the last time she had come here, but she didn't see them around this time. A duck had found it's way to her instead. She smiled and nudged Phil to look in the same direction, to her right to be exact. She leaned down and put a hand out to see if she could pet it, though she guessed it would result in a bite instead. "I used to come her a lot as a kid but as I grew older I spent less time here and more time everywhere else. You know how it gets with responsibilities and whatnot." The duck waddled over with its tail shaking back and forth, peering up at Leila with beady black eyes. Then it quacked as if to say something. And that something Leila heard...or so she thought. Uh. Did that duck just say something? "I'm hungry"? Nah I'm just imagining it. I mean that's probably what it means to say. I forgot to bring some crackers. Leila shook her head and leaned back up and sat quietly shrugging it off as if she had just imagined it. |

Phil got nudged, and he promptly nudged back playfully. Then he glanced at the duck. It was strange that it was so close to them-it's like animals were just really friendly today. Really fricken weird...oh well. "You alright? You seem distracted." Phil had noticed Leila's hesitation near the duck. She was obviously thinking about something. Maybe Phil brought up some bad memories? He hoped not. "Sun's about to go down...sunsets or sunrises?" This game wasn't quite over yet. They still knew nothing about each other. Phil meant to remedy that. |

"Yeah...I'm alright. Sorry." Leila turned and smiled. She tried to cover it up with smiles and a bit of laughter. "I'd have to choose sunrises. I don't like for the day to end...like this one. It's been really good." Leila tried not to think about the duck, but it sat there, quacking. She kept hearing the same phrase over and over again. She stood up and grabbed Phil's arm and walked off. "Let's change the scenery. Plus...my butt's hurting." What's going on? Why did I keep hearing that phrase every time...I just need to get away from it, that's all. Leila headed to her favorite spot- the enclosed garden. There maybe she could calm down. She hoped she didn't seem a little weird so she made up those excuses and hopefully he believed them. |

As Leila grabbed Phil's arm, Phil got up, not really needing much in the way of effort on her part. Phil and Leila walked away, leaving the duck behind. The duck seemed to want to follow them, but eventually gave up, and turned around. That's weird. Phil would follow Leila to the garden, where they could hopefully find some peace and quiet from the local wildlife. It was going crazy today. "Now, usually I'm good with animals...but have you noticed them all acting weird? They're not acting as scared as they usually would. Yano?" Phil hesitated for a few seconds after he said that-that was probably something weird to mention. He'd quickly change the subject though. "I like sunsets. I like to dream. Sleeping's nice...plus, I just kinda think they're prettier. |

Leila stopped as the entered the garden and remained standing there, holding onto his arm and staring off into space. The garden had flowers of many different species and butterflies and bees worked like clockwork feeding and pollinating. She breathed slowly, still not sure of what was going on. It's quiet now. No ducks or anything. Just quiet. She came back when Phil mentioned something about the animals acting weird. "You think so? Nah. It's a lovely day out, why wouldn't they be out?" As Leila turned to lead them to a bench she stepped in a mud puddle. She cursed under her breath and quickly jumped out of it, shaking her foot. She huffed and sat on the bench. Now he knows something is up.. She sat there and nodded to his reply about the sunsets, still clinging to his arm. "Sunsets are nice. And they are by far prettier." She didn't say much after that. She just waited for the questions to roll. |

"Are animals usually this friendly around you? I mean, if you haven't noticed anything weird...does that mean they usually act like that for you? They don't for me. Or most people, actually. I guess that makes you...special, huh?" Weird coincidence...nah, that woman had to be talking about something else. Animals liking someone...that's a stupid descriptor for why I'd HAVE to come into contact with someone. Phil sat there and let Leila hold his arm. This was nice. It was very peaceful. "That's one animal I don't like though. Bees. They suck so much." Phil looked out over the garden-bees or not, it was beautiful out here. Nice place for a first date. Very nice, actually. I wonder how much time she spends out here. The sun was almost down by now-it had gotten to that point where it's just hanging over the horizon, and everything's orange and pink and all other fantastic colors. This was the kind of sunset Phil loved. "That sunset's probably the second prettiest thing I've seen all day." |

Yup. The questions. But...they aren't really what I was expecting. More of..."What is going on?" "No. I mean, maybe. But they say some animals can read vibes off of people, y'know? Maybe I have a good one." Leila chuckled and realized she was still holding onto his arm. She let it go and blushed. Turning away from him so he wouldn't see and further her embarrassment, she sat down on the nearest bench. "I don't think it makes me special. Just in tune with nature. Maybe not with bees though. I agree. I'm scared of them." Okay so he's trying to not make it awkward for me. Not too much at least, thank goodness. It was getting pretty weird for me back there. More than I'd care to admit. Leila shrugged her shoulders and sighed looking up at him. His comment about the sunset, what could he be talking about. Must've been the lake. Leila always loved the way the geese coasted on it and the turtles poked their heads out of the water. "What is the prettiest you've seen?" |

Without missing a beat, Phil responded with a short and simple "You." He kept watching out over the garden, as if he didn't particularly want to see how she reacted. In reality, it was the only thing he was thinking about at the moment. Blush, lean against me, anything positive. C'mon...c'mon... Phil wasn't sure what he was expecting, to be perfectly honest. It'd be nice to be closer to this girl...but it was kind of early to hope for much. The sky had lost most of it's color by now, changing into a dark blue as the sun disappeared from sight. A few early stars could be seen in the sky, and soon the sky would be black. It was about time for the night to end. "Think we should start heading back?" |

Leila blushed and turned her head away, sitting there not really knowing what to say. This kind of stuff happened in the movies was something that ran through her mind. Ironically enough the day had been going like a movie, except for the weirdness earlier. Oh why couldn't I see that coming? But... "If you want. It is getting late, though I don't have anywhere to be.." she trailed off and sighed. Leila stood up and walked over to him. She couldn't look him in the eye because her cheeks were still burning. She fidgeted with her hands and bit her bottom lip. "Maybe I am special. Earlier..." she waited to see if he was ready to leave, this conversation could always continue another time, because she was sure that they would be seeing each other again. |
