The alarms would lower to a moderately annoying volume level. That's the best I can do. It might not be a good idea to let them know there's a technopath running around, they might be ready for such a thing.

The group would be relatively unopposed for a while, since they had just eliminated a decent chunk of the man power in their immediate vicinity. It would be about then that the agent appeared in front of them, leveling his arm. What they were not aware of was that under his sleeve, he had a wrist-mounted weapon that was capable of firing Vibrating bullets.

Of course, none of them would know what vibrating bullets were, this was a fairly innovative new technology. He would unleash three rounds: One per intruder. Iron Lantern would try futily to stop the bullets, but with no success. The bullet would blow right through his magnetism, piercing through his shoulder and exiting from the other side.

What the hell? he would ask, gripping his shoulder. Didn't you guys know he had super bullets or whatever he just did?

Impulse frowned a split second before the pain coursed through him-The bullet got him in the forearm. What he was frowning about, however, was the fact that the man in front of him was like a shell-completely devoid of any thoughts or emotions. Either he was blocking Impulse somehow, or he had no thoughts or emotions...Impulse highly doubted the latter, so he must have been being blocked.

"I can't get a read on him...Damn this shit hurts...I think he's blocking me."

Impulse ran through his options-he couldn't affect emotions he couldn't feel. His empathy and telepathy were both useless. His enhanced reflexes weren't enhanced enough-he still got hit. Of course, he figured that he should have had his main offense still-no matter how much protection that guy had on his mind, telekinesis wasn't something that could be meditated away-it didn't affect your mind, it affected your physical person. The only way to fight against telekinesis was to overpower it physically.

Impulse sent a massive push in the agent's direction, hoping to knock him off his feet. He couldn't afford to waste time on this guy-Ben was still in trouble, and now Impulse was losing blood-quickly.

Alairis had been trusting on them to take care of things as she tried to get a hold of Ben. Which was proving difficult on its own. So when pain suddenly had her stumbling backwards, all her attention was locked on the figure that had appeared. Why the heck had the bullets gotten through? Alairis felt her abdomen where she was bleeding badly. Shit that hurt. Her vision blurred a bit. She had never felt that much pain before in all her years. Not even when she’d broken a bone.

She too tried to get a read from the figure. “He’s one of those blockers." She gritted her teeth in pain and annoyance. She’d come up against someone like him before. She didn’t know just what he was firing at them, but she wasn’t going to try and top it again. She was going directly for the source. Her hand shot out and two bands of light wrapped around the figure’s wrists. Yanking them upwards towards the ceiling, hopefully taking away the person’s aim on them if Imp’s push didn’t work.

Then she would see to their wounds. She moved close to Impulse and set her hand on his arm. Healing him as quickly as she could, then she’d move on to Lantern. She’d worry about herself last.

Impulse's attempt to push the man back would obviously fail, though resisting it would distract him enough illuminatra could get ahold of him using light bands.

He would turn his wrist at her, firing another round aimed at the hand she was using to focus her light bands. The bullet would shatter through his restraints, and keep moving right at her. Come on, where are you? he mused to himself as he bought time against the supers.

-

Iron Lantern would see Illuminatra being fired at, and use his repulsor gauntlets to generate a field to shove her to the side so she could avoid the bullet. If he were blocking us, we wouldn't have access to our powers at all. My guess is its the weapon, not the wielder.

Around now, an arrow would be flying down the hallway behind them, fired by a blue archer. And it was kinetically charged, and hence explosive. IT would go off behind the three supers, with the intent of stunning them for the agent to finish them off. Bomb Squad had arrived.

Thankfully, the newcomer didn't have the same protections this agent did-Impulse felt him. It was a malicious feeling-one that made his intent quite obvious. Impulse turned his attention away from the agent to deal with the new threat, one that fired arrows. Impulse turned the arrow to the side, after which it detonated when it struck the wall.

The hell? Why do all of these people have weird ass weapons?

"I'll handle the new guy, you two stay with the gunner!"

Impulse felt empowered again-he was fighting someone that he could actually affect now. Granted, this someone was costumed and had access to exploding arrows, but Impulse could affect him, even so.

"Kind of a weird costume, isn't it? Kinda reminds me of Subzero, from Mortal Kombat."

‘He’s a mental blocker Lantern.’ She corrected. ‘Thanks.’ She stumbled a bit to the side with help of the push. She was hurt and angry now. Anger made her aggressive. Now this bastard was gonna pay. He shot through her bands, but she was going after him as soon as they shattered. Aiming higher on his arm. Entrapping his entire forearm and yanking them upwards again. Her other hand was busy as well. Forming a thick block of light that went hurtling towards the guy’s more private area. Sure it was a cheap shot, but it would cripple him if it should hit.

He shot her with a bullet. A hit to the privates hardly compared.

All the while that was happening, she was healing herself. Not as quickly as usual, but she was able to stop her bleeding at least.

The Agent was stunned by the blow to the privates, which would take him out of commission for a while. There was just the issue of the guy attacking them, who now came around the corner, as well. To Phil, the first copy said, Oh, you're very funny as he turned the corner and ran towards the Telepath.

Only, Impulse would notice a problem. The man he was fighting wasn't... real. He would only be able to pick up a fracture of the man's thoughts at a time, like they were being routed through a remote source. This was, of course, because he wasn't a real person, but a clone. The real Bomb Squad was operating from a location safely away from the battlefield, with a few walls to protect him. He was just a stall tactic, anyway.

The clones at both ends of the hallway would reach into their pouches, grabbing a handful of marbles and hurling them at the surrounded heroes. These would, of course, be set to detonate via the kinetic charging ability.

Phil and Ali would notice the thoughts of three more copies bombarding around. The fact the thoughts were fractured, in conjunction with the fact there were 5 sets of them that all sounded exactly the same, would make discerning their thought patterns difficult. Plus, they could only see two of the clones.

---

Iron Lantern would redirect his forcefield in front of himself and Illuminatra, blocking the volley of exploding marbles flying at them. It would be up to one of the other two to block the volley from his rear, however.

Impulse held his hand out ahead of him and let out a push as the marbles approached, sending them back to their source. Hearing several thoughts from the same person was a bit disorienting, but it wasn't impossible to deal with-he'd just have to focus on emotions, not thoughts. He was better at dealing with those.

A push wasn't exactly the most accurate mode of attack, but it worked, and Impulse didn't want anything this guy felt like throwing getting near him-he was obviously a special, and so, any kind of weapon he felt was sufficient was probably very, very sufficient.

He couldn't have heard nor felt the agent go down, but he DID feel the happy and familiar feeling of getting an attack to succeed coming from Ali. Hopefully, whatever the hell she did keeps him down.

Alairis was in her aggressive mode now and thus when her enemy was successfully struck, she hit him again. Her right hand arched high over her head and was chopped downwards. Creating a shield over the man’s head that slammed down onto him. Throwing him to the floor. Her aim was to knock him out, not kill him. So she carefully measure the force of her blow.

Her hand dropped down to her wound and finished healing it as she noticed another attacker. Well actually two of the same attacker. “Its that blue bastard again!?” She was a bit shocked to see him and angry to see him. ‘He can make copies of himself. ‘ She told them, since obviously there was more than one and she apparently hadn’t killed him that last time. She turned her thoughts onto the copies and got the same reading as Impulse. Broken bits of information that didn’t make a whole lot of sense. ‘There’s gotta be an original someplace.’ So once more she turned her thoughts outwards. She already knew the general texture of his thoughts so picking him out shouldn’t be all that hard.

The man's true signature was about fifty feet to their right, through several walls. It would be difficult to attack him without going out of their way to stop him.

But his clones were dispersed easily enough, Zau's telekinetic force causing the clone's exploding marbles to destroy it. Likewise, Iron Lantern would disperse the second clone with a bolt of lightning. We need to keep moving. Ben might get moved now that they're on red alert! The Lantern would remind his comrades.

Sure enough, one of the clones was three stories directly below them, grabbing Ben's weakened body as they spoke. Shortcut time he would say, using magnetism to rip the metal in the floor below them apart, making a hole that would let the group drop two stories, to a room adjacent to the one Ben was being held in.

When the floor gave way, Impulse would let himself drop from pure gravity, catching himself at the last minute in time to slow his descent. From this range, it was obvious where Ben and his captor were-Impulse's powers made it quite easy to find them. The only problem was the fact that there was a wall in the way-Impulse was strong, but he wasn't THAT strong.

And even though he knew he could control things without necessarily seeing them, like when he unlocked doors, he didn't want to risk it with his friend possibly in the crossfire.

That being said...Ben was drugged...and Ali could heal him if anything happened...What? No...what the hell are you thinking?

"Anyone wanna tear down a wall or two?"

She found him, the blue bastard, but he was too far away to really do anything about him. Course, that sorta meant the same for him. ‘I wonder if hitting the original would affect the copies?’ She didn’t know. Not having dealt with the original ever or any other clone makers.

Alairis could sense that another of those fakes was going after Ben. That was bad. Thankfully Lantern was making a path for them. Impressed with his effective destruction she hoped onto a block of light and descended downwards.

They were so frustratingly close and so far from Ben. She could sense the clone starting to move him, and she got angry. She didn’t know if she could tear through a wall like Lantern. She could however attack the clone mentally. She’d been attacked herself more than once, so why couldn’t she attack others?

And that’s just what she did. She gathered her thoughts as quickly as she could. Sharpening them and trying to make them as powerful as she could. Then like a spear she would hurl her mental attack into the fake blue bastard. Attempting to stall him if not outright disable him.

The clone would collapse, unconscious. Its mental facilities were clearly not what was necessary to defend itself from Illuminatra's assault. They would have no trouble getting to Ben, but escaping was another issue. Security camera feeds show about twenty or so of the remaining units, clone guy not included, advancing on our current location Lantern would inform the group.

He would look up. The simplest solution was probably the best here. Any fire power you guys can contribute to this maneuver would be great he would say, pointing his arm up and firing 2 homing missles through the holes they had come through. It was his plan to blow a hole big enough for them to fly out through in the ceiling. The two explosions might clear a small space, but it would be the powers of the other two that would enable them to widen it enough to fly through.

Once we're out, we need to land and get lost in a crowd or something fast, so they can't track us. He would inform them. Should the other two help him blow the hole in the ceiling three floors up, he would fly out of the building.

Ben hovered in the air near the three, obviously being held up by Impulse's power. As Lantern launched his rockets, Impulse turned his attention upward, taking minute control of the projectiles to spread them apart, potentially causing greater and more widespread damage to the roof.

After the rockets had detonated, he started pulling down on whatever he could find to pull on-boards, planks, etc...whatever he could think of.

On top of all that, he was playing umbrella too-any debris that fell towards the four would be harmlessly tossed aside, and there would be a lot of it.

They were coming, ooooh sh*t. Alairis didn’t know what to do till Lantern had the bright idea of more destruction.

"I’ll try". She said as he asked for their help. Really she’d never tried her powers against a building before. She was a bit afraid they weren’t going to do what she needed. Her hands worked to form a big spear shape of light. One she hurled upwards after the missiles in hopes of widening the space for them. It spun like a drill with its sharp point puncturing through as best it could.

Lantern could feel Phil's attempt to guide his guided missiles. Clearly, he didn't know that Lantern could control them himself, but oh well. Instead of having a tug of war, he let Impulse do what he wanted to do, and the hole was big enough.

As they all flew out, Iron Lantern would extend a forcefield around the group (Which hopefully Illuminatra would reinforce with her own powers) so they would receive minimal damage on their way out. Once that was done, he would lead the group two blocks away to land and disperse.

Impulse kept Ben close to him as the trio flew out, and would send a volley of pushes out towards whatever foes they saw on the way up.

As the four landed outside the building, Impulse would ask that Ali healed anything she could find wrong with Ben-after that though, they'd take off, and upon waking, Phil and Ben would discuss what Ben had to do, now that his home was no longer safe. Time was of the essence, and thanks were given where appropriate, but they really had to get going.

Alairis moved her powers to shield them as they made their break. Then once outside and a safe distance she healed Ben to the best of her abilities. Then vanished into the crowds.

It was time to lay low for a while. Something was out there targeting supers and those who knew them. Time to amp up the security of her home.

Phone: Download Coordinates James commanded his blackberry. The blackberry would wirelessly connect to the mobile device of both other supers, giving them the address for the rendezvous point. I've sent you both coordinates. Let's meet there this time tomorrow so we can try to make sense of this. Keep Ben safe until then, he's the only identity they know of any of the four of us.

With that, the Iron Lantern would compress his costume back into its stealthy form and walk away, disappearing into the crowd in the distance.
