Alairis shook her head. “It doesn’t make heat. At least I haven’t been able to yet. I’ve also nailed myself on accident, and I certainly didn’t turn to dust.” Of course she wasn’t about to tell him about all her learning mishaps.

She shrugged. “Sure, too tired to make any decent light shows now.” Then she suddenly remembered. “Oh, let me see your phone.” She would make the ‘hand it over’ motion till he did. Then she’d skillfully start tapping numbers and letters. Programming her number into his phone and then sticking ‘Ali’ as the name. She liked him, but she wasn’t about to give him her full name. “My other name is Illuminatra, by the way.” She said as an afterthought as she handed his phone back once she called herself to get his number.

Then she wandered over to the TV and made a chair out of dull, non-glowing light. After all she didn’t want it to reflect off the TV. She flopped down onto her chair. Squirming and tweaking it till it was comfy. It was just like sitting on air, which technically it was. Besides it would be an interesting challenge to see how long she could maintain it and not land on her ass halfway through the movie.

-------

It seemed she still had plenty of energy left to keep her chair a chair. Good thing too, it would have been embarrassing if she hadn’t been able too. She stretched and yawned a bit. “Well boys, I think it’s time I took off. Sorry ‘bout spookin’ you, but you make quite fun targets.” She grinned at them.

She gathered up her backpack and banished her chair into oblivion. She had removed her mask and jacket about midway through the movie and stuffed them in her pack. She saluted them with a wink. “See you lot around.” With that she walked towards the door and let herself out and was heading home.

After receiving her number, Phil would lead the way to the tv. Ali made herself a chair, and Phil struggled to not think about that action during the movie. All throughout the movie, however, he would subtly try to affect the chair-even though he knew this form was solid, it seemed there was nothing he could do to it. Un manipolatore chiaro ha potuto essere difficile da combattere. (Tr: A light manipulator could be difficult to fight)

Yes. That was Phil's method for beating a telepath. He couldn't NOT think-it was simply too hard. So instead, he'd think in Italian. Grazie, Ben, per la forzatura me imparare l'italiano. (Tr: Thank you, Ben, for forcing me to learn Italian.)

Hopefully, he wouldn't have to do this often. He was fluent, that wasn't the issue...the issue was remembering to do that whenever he was near a telepath. Oh well.

~~~
As she left, everyone returned to business as usual. Phil went back to training, and Ben and Matt returned to their games.
Hey, remember how u said that if i got hurt, I could let you know cuz ur a healer and all that? Weeeell...I have a few booboos. Ill be at the warehouse.
That message would find it's way to Ali's phone as Phil hit the send button, resting back in the beanbag chair. The windows were open, just like they were that first time she showed up. And Phil wasn't lying when he said he had a few. His arm had a decently sized gash that almost definitely should have gotten stitches, his knees were still banged up from the glass that got shoved in them, his face was still a mess from the beating he took, he may have had a slight crack on his skull, his ankle was twisted, plus a multitude of other scrapes and bruises all over his body from his attempts at flight.
Well, when Ali got here, that would all be fixed. Hopefully. Also, he was going to ask her to help with that flying thing, since she seemed to have it figured out already. And now...he'd wait.
Alairis had been dead asleep when her damn phone started going off. She groaned and batted at it without paying attention. Thinking it was that blasted alarm clock. Her took her muddled thoughts a few moments long to realize it wasn’t her clock. After all, her clock was now sailing across the room and crashing into her wall. Yet the annoying sound didn’t stop.
She rubbed her eyes and grabbed at her phone. Who the hell is texting me at this time? Of course ‘this time’ was the middle of the day, but as far as she was concerned it was just plain rude. It took her a few seconds to comprehend the message and to deduce it was from Phil, even with the caller ID. She sighed heavily. Any other reason, she might have just ignored it and gone back to sleep. “He’d better damn well be dying.” She grumbled.
Worming her way out of bed she got dressed in her street clothes. Shoving her hero gear into her backpack. On second thought, she shoved a few ointments and bandages in there too. Just in case. Swinging by her kitchen she grabbed some poptarts and a orange juice, then she was out her door.
One thing Alairis was not; was a morning person. She hated mornings with a passion. Especially ones that someone else had woken her up.
She wove her way towards the warehouse on her bike. She would have walked, but she figured it be best to be a bit more quick this time. Just in case he was actually dying. Doing a quick scan of the building, she didn’t sense any unfamiliar minds.
‘Coming in, you lot better be dressed and decent-ish’.
That was all the ‘knock’ they were going to get before she unlocked the door and walked through it. Shutting it behind herself. Thanks to her scan, it was easy to find Phil. And boy did he look like he’d seen better days. She cringed and shook her head at him. “I would smack you upside the head for getting so beat up, but I’m afraid it might kill you.”
The head was her most concern. She set her stuff down and gently place her hands on either side of his face. Then she concentrated. Staring at him without focus as her hands gently began to glow. He would feel a little warmth as her healing powers began to work. First she would see to the most major of wounds.
"Well aren't you just a ray of sunshine?"
Phil relaxed as Ali got to work, and could feel himself getting better-it was a weird sensation, his flesh decided to mend itself together faster than it should have. It was almost like it was being tugged into place, but when each cut closed, the tugging sensation went away, replaced with...nothing. Like it had never happened. And then there was the gentle warmth that felt almost like the sun shining on him-it was something he'd have to get used to.
"Well, to be fair, most of this is self inflicted. In a way. Not the face, that was someone else."
Involuntarily, his mind went back to That Day, the day of his first kill. The man Phil chased down for murdering his own family-if Ali kept up with the news at all, she would have seen at least SOMETHING about the man, hung from a grappling hook in front of a local grocery store. Then again...would she even need to watch the news? I'm sure she could pick it up from damn near everyone else...oh well.
"And uh...since we're on the topic of self-infliction...what that dude didn't do was caused mostly because I can't fly. And I think I should be able to...I just can't figure the damn thing out...and I noticed that you can fly...so..."
Ali wouldn't have to be a telepath to see where Phil's thoughts were going. He had planned this all along, of course...all part of the master plan. Any pointers?
She sighed tiredly and glanced at him. “Still a bit strung out from fighting another telepath.” Alairis was still pretty tired from the other day, but at least she’d gotten almost a whole day of rest. Giving her plenty of energy to see to the mess that Phil was.
A dark eyebrow rose as he mentioned that most of the injuries were self inflicted. She was about to make a comment about that when imaged flooded into her head. Very gruesome images of blood and death. For a brief moment, it was like she was seeing what he had seen. The dead family who had been brutally murdered. Then the discovery of the man going after another woman. Then a chase. Then the horrible end by no less than Phil’s hands.
Alairis jerked her hands back away from his skin and shook her head. She couldn’t piece through the rush of images that had seeped into her mind in a matter of seconds. When she finally sifted through them, she looked back at him. Her stomach churning as she felt a little sick. “You got him… I see.” She said a little sadly. Still a little uncertain about how she’d gotten all that. Alairis wasn’t sad that the man was dead, if she had read the images correct. Rather she was sad that it was by Phil’s hand.
Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she moved her hands to the gash on his arm. Calling up her power of healing again as the wound begin to close.
He brought up another thought, one that was far more pleasant and helped her push the bad ones aside. She stared at him thoughtfully out of the corner of her eye as she considered his not so hidden request. “Our powers work fairly different.” She reminded him. “But… perhaps we can find a common ground to work from?”
She thought a little harder as she smirked at him. “I might have a few.” She answered to his thought. “Just let me finish up here.” And she did just that. Finding every wound that needed attention and making it like nothing had happened at all. She took a satisfied, deep breath and wiped her hands together. “Done.”
As the last of his injuries healed themselves, and as Ali's sadness wore off, Phil rose to his feet and started walking-he had an idea of where he wanted to go for this. From over by the tv, his skateboard flew towards his hand.
"Thanks. Now follow me. If you can keep up."
The door would remain open after Phil seemingly sailed through it and the parking garage, back out the front. He'd never push off from the ground once, relying entirely upon his power to propel him. Feels good to be in one piece again...now time to wreck my body again.
OOC: TO FLIGHT 101!!!!!!!!!11!!!1!!!2!!!one!!
Alairis blinked in surprise as he suddenly took off. She’d figured they’d work right there. “Oy! Wait up!” She called in annoyance. With a flick of her wrist she cast her light into a identical shape as a skateboard. “You aren’t gonna outdo me!” She shouted after him as she leaped onto her board. While at first clance no one should likely notice that it glowed a faint blue, they’d likely think it was just a flashy paint job. Course they’d also have to look hard to notice that the bored never really touched the ground, nor did it’s ‘wheels’ turn. In all essence, it was a hoverboard.
She zipped through the doorway after him, using a bit of her power to slam and lock the door.
