OOC: Base of Operations thread for Phil Greene, Ben Pizzeli, and Matt Walker

IC: This multi-level compound used to be a simple storage facility-however, it has not served that purpose in almost a decade. Until Matt Walker recently purchased it, it stood empty. Now, it houses whatever the Phil Greene, Ben Pizzeli, and Matt Walker need in their quest to fight crime.

The warehouse is only accessible to most people by one way: a driveway that slopes downward and leads to a parking garage that is directly below the actual warehouse. From here, there are two entrances into the actual warehouse-either a large cargo door that generally remains closed (mostly because the locking mechanism is jammed and no one in the group can unlock it), and a smaller door made for human entry. The entrance to the parking garage itself has a garage-style door that was recently repaired to working order.

To those who aren't quite "most people", there are windows up high that are usually open when someone is present in the warehouse. These windows open at a slant and are propped up by retractable metal poles. The windows can be opened by a switch next to the light switch.

There is overhead lighting in the form of large fluorescent lights hanging from the ceiling. The lights can be turned either completely off, every other light on, or every light on.

The warehouse is of decent size, being roughly 40 feet tall and having plenty of room. It's safe to say that it would be exceedingly difficult to ever completely fill the warehouse.

The warehouse itself has been divided up into 3 separate areas: The Living Quarters, The Training Section, and the General Storage Area.

Living Quarters - While none of the normal inhabitants of this building actually live here, this section is fully equipped for the possibility. 5 beds line the walls, all of which are bunk beds, allowing for a maximum capacity of 10 individuals on any one night-assuming all use only the beds. There are 2 old sofas, 3 old recliners, and 3 bean bag chairs, all set around a 52 inch flat screen tv. There is an Xbox 360 complete with a decent collection of games, 2 computers, and a modest stereo system. There is also a very basic kitchen area, with a counter, sink, stove, shelves for dishes, and a mini-fridge. A closed off bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet also exists here. Obviously, the warehouse had been added to the city's water system sometime in the past, making all of this possible.

Training Section - This area is surrounded by large wooden boxes stacked on top of each other. It is mostly blocked off in this way, with only one entrance in the form of an un-boxed path. The actual training section is complete with various weapons (Weapon Levels match Phil Greene's level, and cannot be taken from the warehouse), training dummies, and a large open area where Phil can practice his telekinesis with little worry of damaging other objects. Occasionally, the boxes used to block this area off are used to alter the terrain of the area as well, providing additional training potential.

General Storage Area - This is for whatever is left at the end of the day. Ammo is stored here, in addition to the weapons and equipment the occupants generally carry on their person. Any alter-ego outfits are stored here as well. Trophies and items of note will be stored here when they are come across.

In each area, there is a ladder leading to the second story of the warehouse. This second story serves no real purpose at the moment, being nothing more than a simple steel catwalk leading around the wall of the warehouse. The second story is roughly 30 feet off the ground.

The parking garage has the capacity to hold 50 car-sized vehicles, though Matt's Impala is usually the only one ever here.

This post is subject to change as future events unfold.

2 months ago, Phil was a fledgling telekinetic, still prone to accidentally moving things when he was trying to move something else. Well...he learned fast. He was more precise, and stronger too. Though he still sometimes fell back on emotions when he had to exert his full force onto something, he had learned to be more masterful without needing to be angry or afraid.

Today, Phil was working on his multi-tasking. A pair of wooden crates hung in midair, one spinning, the other bouncing up and down. It didn't seem like much, but this particular exercise was very mentally exhausting. Sure, Phil had multi-tasked in the past, sometimes to a greater extent-but that was when he was emotionally driven. The Warehouse had an advantage over most other places-even though it was in the city, it's size ensured that the most Phil ever felt were fleeting emotions at best. Thus, this allowed him to be nearly entirely under control-it allowed him to know that it was his own power, not the power of someone else's emotions, driving him.

It was a real confidence booster, to say the least, given Phil's remarkable progress. Without other people's emotions, he could push against something almost as well as he could do it physically-not to mention the apparent disregard for gravity his power let him employ when he was moving other things. When Phil WAS emotionally powered...well...it was something else. Every ounce of force possible, he could exert-and it wasn't nearly as hard on his head to do so.

Oddly enough, he was not alone in the warehouse today-both Ben and Matt had today off from their new jobs. It wasn't much, but the warehouse had bills to pay, and they helped cover it at least a little. Today though, they were both playing a competitive game of Halo 3.

Since that day he fought the massive man at the jewelry store, Zaulyl had made a few more appearances at crime scenes, usually trying to avoid detection when he did. Nothing he did really ever compared to that fight with the super powered man though-his usual targets were just normals with guns-easy enough to deal with.

As Phil reminisced over his recent fights, he remembered to get back to the task at hand-it was dangerous to let his mind wander while using his ability. Other things tended to wander as well-sometimes, to places they shouldn't go.

C'mon, Phil. Stay focused.

It had been quite some time since she had stumbled into those boys. She figured it was about time to pay them back, in donuts. After the hell she likely put them through, she still felt ashamed. So she figured the quickest way to forgiveness was their stomachs.

It was just too bad the boys didn’t seem to occupy the baseball field anymore. She stopped by there for a couple of days straight. Waiting a couple of hours and then left when she got tired. It was getting quite irritating. Sure she had their names, but how many Bens, Matts, and Phils were there in that blasted city? Way too many than she wanted to take the effort to locate.

Sitting in her room she tossed around a ball of light she’d made. It bounced around her room like one of those supper rubber balls she’d loved as a kid. “God this is so boring.” She muttered to the ball as she hurled it at her wall only to watch it bounce and zoom about till it returned to her hand. Her parents were gone as usual, her room was already painted again, she’d finished her homework, and there wasn’t squat on TV. It sucked to be her that day. Well, perhaps it didn’t suck too bad. She did have a bag of donuts that she’d intended to give the boys. No sense in letting their sugary goodness go to waste.

She caught the ball out of the air as it zipped over her head. “I could go out again.” She realized as she glanced at her stereo. It had been way too long since she dared a visit to the warehouses. Since that blue-bastard had interrupted her. A grin spread over her face as she decided instantly it was time for another party. Changing into her costume; she grabbed her backpack and stuffed drinks, donuts, and her little boombox inside. Everything she needed for a night out.

Then she made a quick and stealthy escape from her window and was gone.

-----

Wandering through the warehouses she sought out her favorite one. The one that had the best sound quality to it. She was walking by one particular old building when she ‘heard’ a voice. One that stopped her in her tracks. No way?

It couldn’t be could it? Not after she’d waited so damn long?

She crept closer to the brick wall next to her and dropped her mental wall. Immediately she felt the dull drone of voices in the distance, but she also caught other familiar ones. She blinked in surprise at locating her targets in the most unexpected of places. Then she smiled wickedly as her eyes shined with annoyance. I’ll show them to not show up when I went looking for them. Punks. Oh how she was going to enjoy this.

Alairis was very careful to keep her emotions under control. Trying to not project anything that might catch the Phil boy’s notice. Course she didn’t know what other powers they might have, but she was sure she was about to find out. She glanced around the building and noted the windows up high. Perfect. Creating a brick of dim, hardly visible light, she used it to take her up to the windows. Hovering just so she could peek inside. Indeed, there they were.

From where she was, Phil’s back was too her. The others were off doing their own thing while it seemed he was training. She grinned briefly and suppressed her excitement. Lets give them something to get excited about. She thought wickedly.

Her hands were already working as she crafted a ball of light. It was going to be a bit more difficult, seeing as she wasn’t going to create it close to her. No. She was going to make it right over the one boy’s ( Ben’s) head, but out of line of vision. The orb of light was ghostly looking in its opaque white color as well as the little fading trail it left when it moved. The orb would lazily flicker over his head. Drifting back and forth out of his vision. Yet if he tried to turn and look, say when his buddy saw it, it would immediately vanish without a trace.

"Boooom, Headshoooot! Eat lead, you dirty split-lip!" Matt was getting into his loud stage again. He looked over to Ben, expecting to see a frustrated face on his pal. He did, but he saw so much more too. Matt slid away off of his bean bag chair, pointing over Ben's head.

Ben looked at Matt, obviously confused. "What's up with you? You look like you've seen a ghost."

At the mention of the word 'ghost', Matt's face went paler than usual and he screamed-"PHIIIL! GHOOOST!"

Phil let both of the crates fall gently to the ground and looked in the direction of the sound. The stacked crate wall prevented him from seeing what was going on, but it was genuine fear that he was picking up from that area. And, judging from the noise, it was Matt's fear. He was also getting confusion-probably Ben's. There was a third, very faint sensation that felt a bit like humor, but Phil just brushed it off as someone on the streets, having maybe stopped to listen after hearing a screaming boy on the other side, curious about why someone would be screaming about ghosts.

He started walking towards the exit of the training area when he stopped-he had been meaning to try something out...might as well do it now, with such ripe fear feeding his system...then again...he was honestly somewhat afraid to go out there himself-after all, what if there was a-no...that's just the power talking...c'mon, Phil. You can do this...confidence.

Given Phil's distance from Matt, his fear couldn't quite completely overtake him-but the threat was still there. So, Phil would just have to force it out with adrenaline.

He took off, sprinting at the wall. Phil jumped towards the crates, using his own power to Push off the ground and speed his assent. When he found a suitable handhold, he'd Push off the wall again, straight up-he wouldn't get much more than a few feet with every push, and it was slow going-he probably would have been there already if he had just walked like a normal person-still, this TK climbing was a neat trick. Fun too...I feel like I'm from Assassin's Creed.

When Phil reached the top of the crates (and realized that the same method would not work for getting down), he saw what had frightened Matt-over Ben's head, an apparition of sorts.

"Ben, look up!"

Ben did so and the "ghost" would immediately vanish. Phil sat there on top of the wall of crates, very confused, and somewhat afraid. Up here, he was even further from Matt, so his own confusion was more than enough to override the fear. What he wouldn't notice was that the feeling of being amused was clearer, as if he had gotten closer to the source. Of course, he was too focused on the ghost to register that fact.

What the hell? Ghosts aren't real...are they? And even if they are...why show up now, 2 months after we first got the place? That doesn't make much sense...

Alairis had to bite her lip and force her glee down. Empath, remember! Obviously she’d made a good choice of heads to float over. The other boy was obviously quite terrified. She could hear him stammering out “ghost” Thanks to the pre-echo before one ever uttered a word.

No matter, on with her play. While all the boys were staring at the space over the one called Ben’s head, her fingers were already at work. Another orb appeared. This time hovering behind the TV. It would float around the tv, phasing in and out of sight as it seemed to ‘examine’ the device.

Then if anyone of them made a move towards it, the orb would turn a fearful yellow and vanish again. Or it would just do so after a couple of seconds.

Then the ghostly orb would appear behind Matt. Right directly over his head. Nearly close enough that it might brush his hair. It would change colors then. Drifting through several pleasant colors. Like blues and greens.

Then it would turn a light shade of purple as Alairis put her newest power in play. She tweaked her mental voice so that it ‘sounded’ higher pitched and then she laughed. ‘Hehehe. ‘ The effect would come off like that of a child’s playful little laugh. One that she allowed to echo in their heads then fade. Her fingers moved and danced. Allowing her little orb to change shape into a pair of cat ears over the boy’s head. They twitched a moment then shifted back into the sphere shape. Zooming out just out of reach.

Phil watched the scene unfold as the other two boys panicked and investigated, respectively (guess which did which). The "ghost" seemed to have a sense of humor. Or at least, it was playful. Was that the dull one I felt earlier? His mind now on that particular emotion, Phil payed more attention to it-it was muffled again. What the hell? I should be able to...

His thoughts were lead astray when the laughter rang through his head. Attached to that laughter was that glee he felt earlier-he recognized the emotion quite well. Unfortunately, he wasn't entirely sure which direction it was coming from-picking it up from thoughts wasn't an exact science, even less so than doing it the normal way. Phil thought back to the last time he detected emotions attached to thoughts, when he was near that telepathic girl-in that case though, he didn't hear the thoughts themselves, they were just kind of in the girl, and Phil could feel the emotions that went with those thoughts through her. This was different. He knew the glee wasn't his, but it was still coming from him. And Ben, and Matt, who he was also sure weren't gleeful.

For me to pick it up through them, the emotion would have to be attached to a thought...wouldn't it? And if it's not their thought, that would mean it was put there...by...a telepath...Ali? Are you around?

This was certainly worth escaping her room. Even if she was having to keep a tight hold on her emotions. She never realized just how hard it was to be ‘calm’.

The orb of light seemed quite fond of Matt. Hovering around him for a little while longer. Then it changed to a hot pink color and zipped across the distance to hover in front of Ben, a little out of reach. It bounced up and down like it was taunting the boy. Then if he reached for it the orb would suddenly split into two and zip around him to either side.

More laughter echoed through their heads. The same childish one as the orbs spiraled around one another. Melding back into one as it came to hover before phil. Then it danced playfully, bouncing back and for and circling in the air.

‘silly, silly, silly. Silly Philly.’ The little voice seemed to echo through their heads again. Then it darted away and back towards matt. Breaking into many smaller orbs that hovered in the air over the boys. Glittering all sorts of colors.

From his perch on high, Phil continued to watch the display-he was picking up some anger from Ben, and the fear from Matt was soon becoming a steady apprehension-the "ghost" didn't seem to be violent. Still though, something wasn't right. There was no emotion coming directly from the apparition, which made no sense, since it obviously had emotions.

When it came towards him, Phil tried to grasp it using his abilities. He didn't think he'd be able to, and he was right. The thing seemed to be immune to telekinesis. Understandable, considering it probably wasn't solid. It then flew back to Ben and Matt and exploded. And, once again, Phil heard a voice in his head coupled with some sort of glee. And this time, it knew his name.

OK...I know ghosts aren't real, that's stupid...seriously, what the hell? Well...whatever's doing this isn't in the Warehouse, I can see the whole place from here. I guess it's possible for someone to fly up to the windows...alright, "ghosty"...let's see if I can't find you out.

All of the windows would close shut, not necessarily fast or hard, but enough to cause discomfort to anything that happened to be hovering in the middle of one, looking into the warehouse. Phil's next stop after the windows was to check the parking garage, but he'd have to figure out how to get down from here first.

Ali, Ghosty, whatever or whoever you are, I know you can hear this. It's probably best for you if you come out.

Alairis was having quite a bit of fun, but she figured it was about time to stop teasing the boys. Before tempers got out of hand. After all, she was just playing. She giggled and made a crushing motion with her hands. Which in turned made all the orbs burst into dust and vanish.

As she banished her orbs she could feel the drain of the power assuage. Using her light at such a distance was new to her, not to mention the complicated show she gave them. Then the use of her newest power in addition to that. And those donuts are burning a hole in my backpack. She thought as her mouth watered a bit just thinking about all that sugar.

She blinked in surprise when the windows shut in front of her. She poked it curiously and found it locked shut. Coolness. Grinning she laughed again. This times not bothering to control her emotions.

‘Fine, have it your way. I’m already out; mind if I come in?” She asked specifically to Phil, though she did clue the other two in as well. Then as a little tease and peace offering she added. ‘I have donuts…’

I thought it was you. Sure, come right in. Phil could easily feel her emotions now-he must have been purposefully suppressing them earlier. Anyways, now he knew for certain that she was not on the ground. He opened the windows again with his thoughts and turned towards one window in particular, as if he expected her to be there. Wait, that's stupid, my empathy's not THAT exact.

Little did he know, it wasn't his empathy showing him Ali's location, but another ability of his that he had yet to tap into in any useful way. He'd wait for Ali to get in, but in the meantime would think about how best to get down-he couldn't exactly get down the same way he came up. Or can I?

Phil followed the path the wooden crates made-the entrance to the training area was easily jumpable. As he continued following it, he'd be pleased to notice that the distance between the crates and the beams holding up the second story catwalk were within jumping reach too. Of course, if he followed them up to where he could pull himself up to the second story, He would find that he'd be hanging over a large expanse of nothingness for several feet. No. Ignore that. I can do this.

He took off at a run, focusing on every ounce of confidence he could muster up in his body. A push assisted leap would put him across the 5 foot lack of boxes that functioned as a doorway into the training area. He'd hit the narrow stack of boxes running, not slowing even a little in his quest to reach the second story. As the real wall approached, Phil pushed off the boxes, assisting in a brief run up the wall-his speed and telekinetic assisted vertical run would give him the height he'd need to grab the thick metal beam supporting the catwalk. He shimmied his way backwards, and then reached the edge of the catwalk, where he'd pull himself up with both his muscles and his power-he'd done it. He totally just Altair'd his way up to the second story of the warehouse.

Phil would walk over to the ladder leading down into the training area-where he had started this venture-and calmly and safely climbed down it. Wow...that was intense...Ali, you said you had donuts?

Phil would walk out of the training section and into the general storage area, also known as the big empty space that they couldn't figure out what to do with. The day's training was apparently over.

‘I know you did.’ She said grinning back at him. She climbed through the window, or at least tired. Her backpack got stuck a bit at first till she wiggled herself free. It was pretty full after all. Readjusting her pack she gently lowered herself down onto the catwalk. From there she walked to the railing just in time to watch Phil perform. She paused there and studied him curiously as he moved. Yup, he’s definitely got telekinesis or something similar. Of course she’d seen him training earlier as well. She suppressed a wish that she had it too. Nah, I got enough powers to deal with. Don’t need more brain explosions.

Alairis waved pleasantly to the other boys. Almost like she’d never been tormenting them but a few moments before. ‘Yes I did.’ She chuckled. ‘And after that I’m sure you want sugar.

She climbed over the railing and sat on it. Sure there was ladder, but she was too lazy to bother with it. Not to mention that backpack was starting to weigh on her. Slowly she tipped forward until she essentially fell off the railing. Spreading her arms wide she relished in the feeling of falling. Then suddenly before she would hit the ground, a pair of wings sprouted out of her back. Great white angel wings made of pure light. They flapped a few times and allowed her to gently land as light as a feather on the ground. Vanishing as soon as her toes touched the floor. Totally a waste of energy, but damn if she knew it wouldn’t leave in impression. Especially considering she was in costume.

“Hey guys.” She said as she pulled her backpack off. “Who else is hungry?”

"Who's that?" Ben and Matt weren't quite privy to who had just flown into the warehouse. They hadn't heard Zau's thoughts, with which he named Ali as the perpetrator. Also, last time they saw her, about two months ago, she hadn't been in costume...so

As Phil walked up to the others, he'd turn off the xbox and the tv mentally-Ben and Matt had forgotten to in their little freak out. "It's Ali-that girl from the field." Then, to Ali-"You could have just knocked, yano."

And yes, Phil did indeed want some sugar. He couldn't remember the last time he had donuts. "So...you play with light too? How've you been since that day way back when?"

She blinked as they asked who she was. Then she had that duh look on her face as she reached up and dropped her hood back. Dork, they can't hear Phil's thoughts. Revealing her black and purple hair. She nodded as Phil named her.

Alairis took on an obviously false, good-natured ‘lofty’ look as she grinned. “Psh. Knockings for losers.” She was always the sort of girl that did her own thing and having super powers just threw more fuel on that fire.

She bent down and started rummaging through her backpack. Pulling out her stereo and setting it aside so she could get to the real prize. She pulled that out and presented a rather large bag to the boys. It contained several boxes of all sorts of donuts. She hadn’t known what they’d like in the first place, so she sort of cleaned out the donut shop. To the thrill and shock of the owner of course. “Hope you like donuts…” She said and handed them off to whoever would take them.

Alairis paused and lost some of her smile. She focused on stowing her stereo again and zipping up her bag. “Light is one of my original powers.” She said as if in thought. “Which is why I freaked out so much when I suddenly got another that didn't even seem related.” It was quite a bit strange to be talking to someone else about her powers so casually. It was actually kind of nice. Not that she was terrified of showing her skills; she just tended to keep to herself. Doing your own thing often times meant doing it alone.

“Doing a lot better since then. Getting a good grip on this telepathy certainly helped. What about ya’ll?” She glanced around. “Seems you upgraded from that field.”

Ben and Matt immediately got to sorting out which boxes of donuts they wanted-this was going to likely become breakfast for the next week. And, since they were Ben and Matt, it quickly escalated into a bit of a shoving match.

Phil listened to Ali as she spoke, figuring that she had roughly the same amount of time practicing her telepathy as Phil had with his telekinesis. Original powers? Plural? Obviously, she had more time with her abilities than Phil had. He was even a little jealous. Maybe if he'd had his powers longer, he would discover new abilities to play with as well? The potential was there, at least.

Phil went to put his hands in his pockets, like he normally did when he had nothing to do with them, but stopped-it seemed he had cut them somewhere during his trip up the wall. The adrenaline and influx of emotions (in addition to the strange doubling effect that happened whenever Ali heard him think) probably kept him unaware of it for this long, but he was starting to calm down. "Damn.." Phil's wounds would seem to narrow as he put telekinetic pressure on the wounds, and from the storage area pulled some bandages towards the group.

"Guess I need to be more careful."

She just shook her head and rolled her at the boys as they started shoving each other. Some things never change.

Swinging her backpack back over her shoulder she stood up. Glancing over at Phil as he spoke. I can fix that. Lifting her hand up towards Phil she concentrated. Her eyes focusing on his hand as her own began to glow with more white light. After a second or two the wound would start to close and finally would disappear like it had never been. “You should.” She said looking at him seriously. “If you get hurt fighting, you can’t really go to a hospital.”

Then she smiled and winked. “You could call me though. Healing is my other power.” Now she was starting to feel a tired. Healing always took a chunk out of her energy reserves even without her goofing off of before. Alairis rebuilt her protective walls around her mind again. She didn’t really want to hear what they were thinking anymore. A plain old conversation would be nice.

"Ah...that's...cool." And in the meantime, I get stuck with moving things and feeling emotions? That seems slightly unfair.

Ben and Matt eventually got it all sorted out and Phil took a donut. He supposed he should have been more surprised about the healing power...but the past few months had been a real eye opener for him. Not many things surprised him anymore.

Ben and Matt, however, still thought superpowers were pretty awesome. Which they were, no doubt-Phil had just been somewhat desensitized to the awesomeness of it all. Then again, I have yet to see "real" supervillains...like that Canvas guy, or Doc Dread. I'm sure they could show me a few things that could blow my mind.

"So you can fly with that power, huh? Phil's tried flying."

"He ended up busting his ass. The best he could do was a high jump."

Both Ben and Matt's mouths would shut simultaneously, seemingly against their will. They screamed at Phil through their closed lips, and Ben punched him hard on the shoulder, but their lips would not be released from his binding. I should do this more often...it's a nice change.

She smirked and glanced at Phil as he zipped his friend’s traps for them. “That’s not very nice - hero.” She scolded. Of course she likely would have done the same if they’d been talking about her.

Alairis snagged a donut for herself. Her favorite, chocolate with sprinkles. “Yes I can fly. I can pretty much do anything I can dream of. Though the bigger or more complicated it is; the more draining it is.” She giggled and grinned wildly. “But it sure does make one hell of a dance party.” And if they had any questions about her stereo, they likely would have been answered then.

Thinking back onto her previous ‘dance party’ she remembered the blue-bastard. “Say you haven’t run into a guy in a blue ninja outfit with a bow?” Just thinking of him made her blood boil a bit.

Phil shrugged and let Ben and Matt's mouths go. They both exhaled and inhaled heavily-Phil didn't understand why-he'd left their noses open, after all. Neither one seemed to want to pursue revenge at the moment, but both took donuts and left, leaving the specials to their special talk.

Phil crossed his arms and shook his head. "Can't say I've seen anyone matching the description. What happened to get you so upset over him?"

Phil wasn't TRYING to read her emotions, of course...he couldn't turn the damn thing off! Any emotions anyone felt near him instantly entered his own head...he couldn't even try to resist the flow of emotion into his head. And with emotions like anger...it made him think of...that day. His anger rose a bit with that thought, but he shoved the memory down and continued with the conversation.

"If he's dressing like a ninja, I'm guessing he's not...well...normal, is he? Can he do anything like us?"

I was a warehouse or two over goofing off when he showed up. Mind you I wasn’t destroying anything, I just happened to like the sound vibes in warehouses.” She waved her hand absently in the general direction she had been that night.

“He shows up and starts acting all supiror. Said that all supers think their above the law and whatnot. He threatened to call the police on me and that I should consider myself lucky.” She couldn’t hide her grumbling at the last statement, nor did she try. “He called himself Bomb Squad. He seems to like throwing things that goes ‘boom’. And when I made a few snide remarks, he attacked me. I drove him off, but when I nailed him with my light he kinda… turned to dust.” That part still confused her. “I don’t think I killed him, people just don’t turn to dust like that? At least none I’ve met before.”

“Anyway, he was snooping around here. So keep an eye out for the bastard. I got the feeling he doesn’t like supers and I suspect he has the ego the size of a mammoth. Might even be hairy like one too.”

Phil hadn't heard of many things like that in his life-yes, people most definitely did not turn to dust. Not when hit with a solid object, at least. "Is it possible your light can emit heat too? You could have accidentally disentigrated him or something...no, that's probably not it. When I was first starting out, I could occasionally do big things, but nothing on the level of erasing someone from existence. I doubt your power would have done something like that...and you had it longer than me, so you probably were more in control."

He'd have to ask Matt about it later. Matt was the comic book nerd, not him. If anyone knew what guys turning into dust meant, it would have been him. "Blue Ninja who throws explosives and takes a hit a statue of sand. Got it. We'll keep an eye out for this "Bomb Squad"." He shouldn't be too terribly hard for me to handle...from the sounds of it, he's actually pretty weak. Well, assuming his dust thing is a normal occurrence.

Ben and Matt seemed to have started a movie on the tv. Phil couldn't tell what it was from here, but that was as much an invite as he'd need. He pointed at the tv. "Wanna go watch?"
