Somewhere uptown, alarms went off as someone smashed their way through an upscale jewelry store, filling a sack full of valuables. The police tried apprehending the brute, but with no luck.

Calling all cars! We need back up on Grand and Franklin! Robbery in Progress! one officer called over the scanner as they pointlessly fired their gun at the robber, trying to slow them down.

The car they'd receive, however, wasn't a cop car-it was a 1967 Chevy Impala. The car stopped somewhere in the city; it was held up by the traffic caused by this incident. Phil emerged from the back seat and told Ben and Matt to get to him when they could. Other than that, Phil said nothing else before he walked the rest of the way to the crime scene, not wearing his mask.

There was a crowd held a comfortable distance away from the store. Cops were trying to get them to go home, but it proved to be a fruitless effort.

In the meantime, Phil would assess the situation from his safe place here. Being around this many people was...interesting. It reminded him of how the encounter with Ali went-lots and lots of different people's emotions. Fortunately, they all seemed to be feeling the same thing, with a few variations here and there. From the crowd, there was fear, but at the same time, a deep-rooted curiosity, one they could not abate. From the police, disbelief and more fear. Disbelief because their bullets weren't doing their job. Fear because...well...their bullets weren't doing their job. And from inside-greed. And confidence as well. This man knew that he could get away with it if he just got in, got out, and got going.

It was maybe time to introduce fear to that man as well.

What glass hadn't shattered already was blown inward, fracturing into itty bitty pieces. Phil hadn't had much experience with pushing yet-but this much fear...it worked almost as well as anger did. One officer's gun would be wrenched from his grasp and would float through the air til it found it's way over to the back of the culprit's head. Phil cocked the weapon, a warning if there ever was one. There was a sudden spike of fear, but whether it was from the man or from the crowd; it was impossible to tell.

He's clearly outclassed. The store is surrounded by officers, and now I'm here, with enough emotions to let me do this all day. There's really nothing he can even try to do. Simple job, easily fixed.

Phil clearly hadn't gotten a good look at the brute. There was a reason the police were having so many problems with him. He was a mountain of a man. Standing over 7 feet tall, almost completely muscle, and wearing some kind of heavy armor, including a helmet.

Spoiler: click to toggle

He didn't even notice the gun cocked against his head. Bullets couldn't penetrate his armor, nor did they do a whole lot to his flesh. His sack of jewels gathered, he rammed his way out the front door, splintering it. He came barreling towards the crowd, ready to rip people limb from limb.

Sadly, if Zaulyl were to try his tripping trick, it wouldn't work. His telekinesis was limited to around the same force he could physically act upon an object with. And this brute was strong. His legs were more than strong enough Zaulyl couldn't trip him up. The man unleashed a roar as he plowed toward the crowd. Could the hero protect the bystanders?

Oh. My. Well. That won't work.

When the man burst through the wood, Phil finally got a look at him. He didn't even need to try to trip him to know that it wouldn't work. Additionally, the man was closer now, so his emotions were clearer-and Phil could feel the rage coming off of him-it was almost tangible. Even with all that rage as ammunition though, Phil knew he couldn't beat this guy back the normal way-he'd have to try something else. One officer would find his weapon ignoring his commands, and instead pointing straight up into the air. His gun would then fire, unloading it's entire clip. With any luck, the gunshots, in addition to the living tank charging towards them, would encourage the crowd to disperse. Not quick enough...I...got it.

At the same time, the charging man's bag of jewels would suddenly feel considerably lighter-Phil had ripped a hole in the bottom, and was quickly removing the jewelry from it. Even if he couldn't be physically stopped, the behemoth might pause when he realized that his plunder was getting away.

Additionally, Phil had a few tricks up his sleeve as well. The man might have been strong-but even the strongest men around have weak spots. Terrible, terrible weak spots. Luckily, Phil had already figured out the "manipulate things you can't see, as long as you know where they are" trick. And certain parts of the anatomy rarely moved.

And so, the monster of a man would receive a blow to HIS jewels that wouldn't bother with his silly armor-and, unlike conventional attacks to that region, this attack had the full force of a rage-and-fear powered telekinetic teen with a terrible sense of humor behind it.

Seriously though-it was about the only thing Phil could think of. Like Ben said-if they're not going to fight fair, why should we?

The crowd ran away, aside from the police. The cops just looked confused and scared, but remained on the scene as part of their job.

The behemoth slowed down as he realized his sack was empty, and bent over to start picking up the jewels. It seemed Zau had successfully bought the crowd enough time to flee. Which meant that he couldn't blend into the crowd any more, but oh well.

About then, he felt a psychic punch to his manhood. He grunted for a minute, visibly wincing. But, it just lasted a second. It seemed he had at least some degree of invulnerability, or maybe regeneration, protecting him in addition to the armor. Zaulyl had succeeded in angering him, though.

Frantically, the monstrous man looked around, trying to find the person most likely to have caused the pain. A cop, another cop, another cop. Then, he spotted Phil, whom didn't look remotely like a cop. I'm gonna squash you, runt! the man bellowed, running towards Zau with his arms opened, ready to either trample him or snag him in a bear hug.

As soon as the man finished declaring his threat, Phil struck. The man's lips would close, and he'd feel his nostrils pinch shut as well. Additionally, his eyelids would even be pulled down. Since he had just finished bellowing, Phil was certain that the man would be low on air-he couldn't last long with no way to breathe. And without sight...well, Phil was almost certain that he was in the clear. Even so, he'd run off to the side, chasing the crowd as if he was simply frozen earlier. This way, he hopefully wouldn't draw any undue attention to himself aside from simply being the type to freeze when scared.

However, it wasn't fear driving him-the crowd had dispersed. Instead, it was anger-Pure, unadulterated rage. Holding the man's breathing passages closed, and then blinding him-if Phil knew how, he'd deafen the man as well. He intended to make this moment as terrifying as possible for the man who was seemingly without fear.

Gonna squash me, huh? How do you like suffocating, I wonder?

Phil felt something in his pocket vibrate-it was his phone. He pulled it out to see a text from Ben-
Text

What are you doing?!

Phil looked back at the giant, still feeling no remorse. He put his phone away without answering the text and stood behind an abandoned vehicle, trying to stay out of sight. He was roughly 20 feet to the right of the giant, and absolutely refused to release his hold on the giant's air passages. Go down, brute.

Phil could only hold the beast's face for second. It seemed super strength applied to more than just your ability to lift things. The giant stopped in their tracks long enough to catch their breath. It had basically been enough time for the rookie hero to look down at his phone and read the text.

The giant grabbed one of the police cars, hurling it at the psychic. Phil was getting better with his powers, but he wasn't quite at "catch a car with my mind" levels yet. His attempt to restrain the beast had been a good one, but it was still only a tiny kink in his opponent's armor.

Turns out, the beast apparently had lips that could exert more force than Phil's telekinesis and was now lifting a car. Phil decided quite quickly that he didn't feel like getting a car thrown at him today. He mentally reached inside as many nearby vehicles as he could-other than the one that was in the air and the one Phil himself was using as cover, of course-and turned their ignition, key or not. He switched the vehicles into drive, slammed on the gas, and steered every one of them right into the monster man.

His lips are unsealable. Bullets don't do as much as I'd hope...let's see how cars handle him.

Additionally, Phil was pulling up on the man's helmet, in an attempt to free it from his head. At that moment, Matt and Ben finally arrived, but stayed well out of harm's way.

"Hey officers, why don't you try those restraining necklace things you put on supers in prison? He's obviously a super! C'mon! Ben, however, wasn't actually offering advice to the cops-he was trying to get them to show Phil where the collars were. If Phil could snap one of those on the beast man, that would make this incredibly easier.

In the meantime, Phil stayed ducked down behind the car he found. He was prepared to bolt if this car started moving from the collision, ready to augment his movements with his ability.

The cars all came barreling into the mammoth of a man, colliding on him in all directions. He didn't have time to move, half a dozen squad cars colliding with his body and crunching against it. He grunted from the force.

But, he was still standing. Haw haw haw! he chortled. His laugh was a bit premature, however. The gas tank had ruptured in one of the cars. all of the cars went off in a massive explosion.

Baboom!

We need to get that helmet off of him first an officer at the barrier said, holding up one of the collars, And thenw e need to actually get near him. It looks like he's done now tho--

The smoke from the blast cleared, and the man was still standing. Visibly burned, cut and bruised, but standing. That stunt had taken a helluva lot out of him, but he was still slowly but surely approaching Zaulyl. Zau would notice, however, that the man's armor was cracked in many places. It was ready to fall apart.

There never came a collision with Phil's hiding car, but it seemed the man really was just plain unstoppable. An entire explosion did little to slow the bastard down-still though, that seemed to do more than most other things. Phil continued pulling on his helmet, determined to get it off now that he knew what needed to be done.

Additionally, Phil noticed that the man's armor looked like it had been through hell-realistically, it had. Phil picked up the most solid looking pieces of metal left over from the blast with his mind, and without hesitating for even a second, shoved them into the cracks in the man's armor. He then pushed with as much weight as he could muster, using the bits of metal as crowbars to finish removing the man's armor.

There was one more thing he needed to do, but that would have to wait til later-the man had seen Phil's face. If it was within his power, Phil would fix that issue as soon as he knew how. Maybe some blunt trauma to the head could make him forget my face...we'd have to get that damn helmet of his off first though. I might even have to wait until he's got that collar on to make sure it does what it needs to.

The armor pulled apart, and the helmet popped free from where it had been. The man was now pretty much just in his boxers, but still rampaging around. he picked up the remains of a car and hurled it at Zaulyl.

He was now more or less defenseless, however. The police crept in, collars in hand. None of them could get close enough to the fiery mess to actually collar the crook, though. What do we do? they asked stupidly. Anyone who got too close would get torn limb from limb.

Phil wouldn't wait for the man to toss the car-as soon as his neck was exposed, a restraining collar would be pulled free from one of the officer's hands and fly towards the man's neck. When it reached his neck, it would snap in place, relieving the giant of his powers. Hopefully, Phil was quick enough-too slow, and he would have to dodge a flying hunk of metal. He was ready for such an event, just in case, though. He had a Push prepped and ready in case he needed to be about five feet to either side.

If he DID move quick enough though, the man would find himself buried under the remains of a car he carelessly picked up. And if that didn't do the job, Phil would take even MORE precautions to get the man sufficient trauma-in this case, hitting him on the head with his own helmet after the collar was in place.

as Phil had predicted, the man was robbed of his strength, and the car crushed him.

When the police finally dug him out, it was determined he was in some kind of coma. He wasn't telling anyone what the hero's face looked like. Zaulyl had saved the day!

Phil wouldn't stick around to receive any kind of attention, as if there was any attention to give him. The left side door of Matt's car opened and Phil ran in and slid into the backseat, finally in the clear from what he was sure would be the first of many dangerous encounters.

"So, how'd it go?" Ben was leaning over his shoulder and looking back at Phil, who was laying there, obviously exhausted. Matt fixed his rear view mirror to get a better view of Phil, who was mostly unharmed.

"Later...let's just get home or something."
