You can put a picture in your post in one of two ways. 1) Uploading the picture from your computer When you are replying to a post scroll down to just above where you click the button to add your reply and there is a section that says: File Attachments You may attach a file to this message. Maximum file size: 200k followed by a white rectangular box and a button that says 'browse' Click on the browse button and a box will pop up that you use to browse through the files on your computer. Go to the picture that you want and click on it, the name comes up in the file name box and then you click on open. The white rectangular box is now filled with words indicating where the picture is and then when you click on 'add reply' the picture will be uploaded into your post. The picture will also show up as a small image even if it is actually larger, it's called a thumbnail. You can see the picture at the proper size by clicking on it. 2) Linking to a picture that is already online Please note that you should have permission to link to a picture first. If you do not it is called hot-linking and it is a bad and nasty thing to do :y: To link to a picture that is 'uploaded' somewhere else all you need to do is click on the IMG button that is above the box you type your reply into. Clicking will give you a pop-up box that you paste the URL of the picture into. Like so: Posted Image As you can see this method puts the image within your post exactly where you want it and also doesn't shrink the image. There is no size limit for pics linked from elsewhere but please try to ensure they are not too big because it makes life more difficult for those on slower connections. Here endeth the lesson. |

Additional: Large pictures can, and do, break the board. If the picture you are inserting via method #2 is quite large then please use a 'clickable thumbnail' if at all possible. In photobucket you can do this by selecting the picture you want via the ticky box and then scrolling down to the bottom and choosing 'Generate HTML and IMG code' Please note this subforum is read only. You will not be able to reply here, if you wish to discuss this matter with the Admins you may do so via PM or by making a thread in the Board Discussion subforum. |
