There was something extremely sexy in the way she fit his shorts. Rian had to keep his fingers from slipping under the elastic and taking them off again. It was time for bed, he reminded himself. And Briana grabbed his willful hands for him, keeping them out of trouble. He looked into her eyes as she whispered in that sultry voice of hers, bidding him to come with her to the bed. There was no way he wouldn't follow her-- his legs started moving before his mind even processed what she'd said. But he picked up the pace once he'd figured it all out, all her words falling into place as he scooped her up and fell backward onto the bed. They bounced once, but landed in close to the same position they'd been in before, his arms holding her close in a tight cuddle.

"Well, we better get to sleep quick, then," he whispered to her, smelling the scent of her perfume and pressing a kiss to her neck. "I can't wait to fall asleep so I can wake up to see that."

"Oh, well.. this may be a problem, then," Katrina tried to respond with the same serious face. But Jack's small smile cracked her, and she broke into giggles, snuggling further into the crevice she'd found beneath his chin.
"But noooo! I mean, yes! You were very, very close! --Chocolate chip and Disney," she explained. "And by Disney, I mean three mini pancakes put together in the shape of like.. Mickey Mouse's head. Y'know, with the iconic ears?" she raised her eyebrows in question. "They're quite delicious."

Briana let out a small squeal as she felt Rian pick her up and then pull her down onto the bed with a bounce. She smiled as she felt his lips on her neck, sending a light shiver down her spine.

"Mm okay," she responded, her voice soft as it flowed past her lips. "As long as you promise to keep holding me like this." She snuggled into him, her arms slinking around his torso and feeling the skin of his bare back.

"I'd expect they would be. I'm surprised you and Matt haven't fallen in love with each other already," he started with a small chuckle. "He's obsessed with Mickey Mouse. It's actually quite frightening, to be honest."

Feeling her pull herself closer to him made his heart swell. He hadn't had a real relationship since he was in his last year of high school. Even though this wasn't one as of yet, it felt almost as real as one could get. Maybe this would be something greater, but for now he was content with holding her close to him.

"Is that all?" he asked while she snuggled closer to him, his lips pressing a light kiss to her shoulder as it came closer to him. Now that her arms were looping around his body, he could really feel the warmth in her embrace; it would be easy to fall asleep just like this.

No problem.

"I promise, precious," he told her in a soft whisper, his hands wrapping around her, holding her tight.

"Well, I can only fall in love with so many people in one day," Katrina gave a soft chuckle, her smiling lips pressing a kiss to the lower half of Jack's cheek, the highest spot she could reach comfortably. As she drew her lips away, she looked up into his caring eyes, her own eyes' lids feeling heavy... She wondered, the gears of her mind turning sleepily, if he had caught what she'd hinted at in her words.

Briana let her lips curl into one last smile as her eyes lost the battle they had been fighting to stay open. Her weighted eyelids met and shrouded her world in darkness. Normally, there would have been a sliver of fear that coursed through her body at this for her depression also made her slightly paranoid, but feeling his strong arms holding her close to him let her know that she'd be safe from anything that even tried to take her over.

A few hours passed, but it only felt like minutes to her as her eyes slowly opened. They were met with the chilling darkness of his room. She began to worry as she thought that he had left her, knowing full well that they had fallen asleep facing each other, but as she looked for him she caught sight of his right arm wrapping around the front of her body and his hand cupping her shoulder. Her fear subsided and she know felt comfortable knowing that it was just that she had turned in her sleep.

Her eyes scanned the confines of the room, seeing the dark silhouettes of the pieces of furniture that lined it. For some reason, she wasn't tired any longer. She would have been content lying there in his arms until he woke up, but the overwhelming need for thirst quenching took her over. She bit her lower lip nervously. How was she supposed to get out?

She looked to the hand that held onto her shoulder and saw past this arm to see that Rian's left arm was draped over her side. It was almost like a straight jacket but one that she wouldn't mind being in. She reached the arm that was less captured in the embrace and wrapped her slender fingers loosely around the wrist of his right arm. She moved as slowly and gently as she could, hoping not to wake him. She lightly lifted it from her and she thought that she might have been able to succeed. That was until her grip on his arm slipped and it fell across the bed on the other side of her.

"A love a day can keep the... doctor..." he began, but his train of thought trailed off as he realized just what she'd said. He looked into her eyes and could see that she was extremely tired, so he had to act fast. "You... does that mean that... um... you love m-me?" he asked, stumbling over his words as he tried to scan those beautiful, sleepy pools of blue that stared up at him.

Rian groaned quietly, feeling his hand hit the bed. Did he do that? He peered open his eyes and caught sight of Briana peering back at him, her eyes shining even in the general lack of light. He held her tight with the had that was still draped around her, his eyebrows furrowing with groggy concern.

"Where're you goin'?" he asked sleepily, even a bit unsure that this was actually happening. But it didn't quite feel like any dream he would have... if it was about Briana leaving, it was more like a nightmare anyway.

"Hmm..." Katrina mumbled, her eyelids feeling heavier and heavier. "Now that... is quite..." she paused to yawn, "..a good question."
She snuggled in closer to him, an evil smile on her lips, and fell asleep.

She heard him stirring behind her and peered over her shoulder, cursing inwardly at waking him up. He asked where she was going and she almost felt bad, as if she were abandoning him. But it was only to get some water... she'd be gone for maybe two minutes.

"I'm just going to get something to drink. Go back to sleep, baby. I'll be right back," she responded, her voice soft so as not to be harsh against his ears. She adjusted herself a bit and leaned in, pressing a soft peck to his lips before she moved out of his arms. Her bare feet sunk into the plush carpet as she made her way from the room, grabbing a hoodie off of the dresser and closing the door quietly before moving down the hall where she assumed the kitchen would be. She found it and rummaged the cabinets, finding the cups and filling one up with water from the filtered nozzle of the sink. As she was doing this, she glanced out the window and caught sight of someone sitting outside in one of the lawn chairs. She narrowed her eyes to see if that would help her see better and she caught a glimpse of brown hair. Was that Alex?

Once the glass was done filling up, she took a sip as she pulled the hoodie tighter around her body and opened the glass door leading to the backyard. She was met with a blast of cold air and shivered a bit, but she continued outside.

"Alex? Is that you?" she asked, her voice still quiet to keep from waking up the neighbors.

Jack somehow managed to fall asleep after that blow off. His mind was racing all through the night, trying to think of what she meant by what she'd said before she fell asleep. She enjoyed toying with him.

Morning came and the noises of happenings outside the bedroom floated through the cracks in the door. There was a light knock on the door, but Jack was fast asleep and wouldn't be waking up anytime soon. There was another knock when no one responded to the first one.

"Jack? Are you there?" a woman's voice with a light accent filtered into the room.

Rian processed Briana's reply, responding with a slow nod to show he'd understood, at least a little bit... she'd be back. That's all the really mattered to him. He smiled weakly after returning the kiss, letting his head fall back on the pillow. He fell back asleep before she had even crept out the door.

Alex was sitting outside, slumped down in the lawn-chair with his head tilted back, letting cold snowflakes burn against his cheeks and nose. As the flakes melted slowly from prolonged contact with his skin, their water would trickle down with the warm saltwater that was streaming steadily from the edges of his eyes. It was nice, being all alone out here. He could cry in peace, without anyone seeing him. He didn't have to live up to anyone's expectations... here and now, he could just be himself, and let everything out. He had a lot to get off his chest, and the whole sky to listen to him as he sniffled quietly.

But suddenly the silent night was broken.
Alex heard his name being called softly, and for a moment the hair on the back of his neck sprung straight up with fear--

"--Daniel?" he asked quietly into the endless darkness of the night, his heart pounding anxiously. He heard the sound of feet crunching in the thin layer of light snow, though, and spun his head around to find the cause of it. When he found the footsteps' owner, he had to blink a few times to clear the tears from his eyes; once the mist was gone, the wavy figure turned out to be a clear image of "...Briana?"
Once he'd called her name, he was bombarded with tons of questions that he wanted to ask. What are you doing here? was the main one, but from her outfit of Rian's clothes, it was pretty obvious why she was here. He felt a little silly for not realizing she'd been there... "How long have you been standing there?" he decided to ask, clearing his throat as he leaned forward and held his face in his hands for a moment, trying to subtly wipe away all the tears before she could come close enough to see them.

Katrina's head turned a bit, hearing a noise and having her dreams disrupted. She was normally a very deep sleeper, but there was something about being in another person's house that always made her sleep a little bit lighter-- just enough that she bolted up after recognizing the sound of a knock on the door and a woman's voice calling in.

"Oh my gawd!" Katrina squeaked quietly, pulling the blankets up to her chin, and staring at the door. That was Jack's mother, wasn't it? She was at the door.. and.. and Katrina was in Jack's bed!!
She scrambled out of it immediately, pulling most of the covers with her, only realizing afterward that she was still fully clothed. But still, that didn't matter... it was obvious that this wasn't just some sort of sleep-over party. I mean, guys and girls never did that-- it was always about sex. That's why parents never let them spend the night. That's why Jack's mom was going to think she was a total slut!

"Jack... Jaaack," Katrina pleaded quietly, leaning over the bed and shaking his shoulder, eventually doing so hard enough that it rocked his body side to side. "Jaaack! Your. mother. is. here..!" she told him as she continued to try to wake him. She kept as quiet as she could, but it was hard to not yelp out loud. "Please get up, Jelly Bean," she begged, whispering right in his ear.

As Briana stepped closer to Alex, she could see that his cheeks were stained with water. Seeing as it was snowing, she figured that it was just the melted precipitation that had accumulated on his cheeks. Though there was something about his voice that told her that wasn't the only thing that made his cheeks shine in the morning low light.

"Not long. I just... I saw you from the kitchen," she said as she motioned towards the house. God, it was freezing out here. How could he just... sit there? "Are you alright?" Her face showed that she was genuinely worried about him. She didn't know him extremely well, but she did know that he always seemed to be in a good mood. But right now, it didn't look as if that was the case. She made her way to the chair that he was in and knelt down so that she could be level with him. She ignored the burning cold against her bare feet; making sure he was okay was a lot more important than her comfort.

Jack groaned as he rolled onto his back. He had been jolted from his sleep by the feeling of being shaken about in his sleep.

"What...?" he grumbled out as he stretched out his body, his arms bending and hands rubbing at his eyes. He opened them and his vision slowly cleared to show Katrina standing over him, the covers clenched in her hands and her face showing a mixed expression of fear and worry. It was then that he heard another knock on the door. "Oh... mom, I'm here," Jack called to her, his voice still groggy.

"Jack, sweetheart, do you want me to make you anything before I leave? May and I are going to go shopping soon," his mother explained. Jack sat up in his bed and motioned for Katrina to sit back down and stop freaking out.

"No, I'm good mom. I'll make something," he told her, but his eyes never left Katrina's face. He mouthed 'calm down' as he held open his arms, hoping for morning snuggles.

"Oh," Alex responded, seeing that she'd come from the kitchen, the door still slightly ajar. What was he supposed to say? Good? He was glad she hadn't caught him sobbing or anything... but he didn't want to make her feel unwelcome. That would be rude for starters, but it would also clue her in to the fact that he had wanted to be alone. And people always started asking questions whenever they figure out that you want to be alone... it wasn't exactly a normal thing. At least not for him, being the social butterfly that he usually was. Usually being the key word.

"Are you alright?" Yep. There it was.

"..Uhm, about that," he chuckled softly, trying to dodge the question. "You must be freezing," he noted, catching sight of her bare feet. Great way to redirect the conversation--sudden topic change. "And the snow is starting to come down pretty hard...Why don't we go inside?"

Katrina bit her lip, trying to choke back a whimper that was trying to take the place of what would usually be a relieved sigh... she'd really been freaking out for a moment there. She climbed back on the bed, using her hands and knees to crawl over to his seated form, climbing almost into his lap so that she could fold into his hug. As his arms closed around her, she slid hers around his waist, creating the most comfortable hug she'd had in a while. She pressed her cheek against his chest, feeling his collar bone against her cheek bone through the few stray curls that had fallen in her face. After listening for his mother's response, she began to pick up on the steady, rhythmic beat of his heart beneath her ear... he wasn't even nervous, was he?

"My hero," she whispered up to him wish a smile as she squeezed his torso, snuggling closer.

"I was going to say the same thing to you," she said as she gave him a small smile, though the worry never left her face. He was diverting so something was obviously wrong. To be honest, she was grateful for him asking if she wanted to go back inside. That way she could check on him and be warm. She stood up and held out her hand to him.

"I'm glad," he returned in a hushed voice as he pulled her closer to him. "Mom's caught me doing much worse than just sharing a bed with a girl. But we won't go into that."

"Alright. Be sure to say good morning to your sister before you go anywhere," Joyce said before walking away from the door. Jack looked down at the girl he held in his arms. Even in the morning, she was beautiful. Not many people could pull that off.
