Ship Information

The Lucky Lady is an earlier model ZEKorp Inter System Hauling Freighter, its exact model is not listed and it is perhaps the only one of its kind that still survives. Though old, it is recent enough to have its own hyper drive system, though relying on outdated and inefficient Togorin gas making it very difficult to fly outside of hyperspace routes. The Lucky Lady is capable of ferrying 15,000 deadweight tons. It has capacity to comfortable crew 13 and the captain, it has only a small area for lounging and eating. It has a small armory, carrying only a single rifle and some pistols, which is as much as the Freedom of Trade Act allows for private, non-corporate frieght. It is rickety, rusty and is missing parts some possibly important. It is surprising that the lucky lady can even still fly.

Captain Reginald Retrand

Reginald Retrand was born on the World of Cadinon, in the Fellanim system. During his child years, the world enjoyed its independence and neutrality. Though the world was governed by a representative senate, it was truly in the hands of the MasterCraft Trading Guild. The planet's wealth was in its luscious environment, many casinos and resorts apart from that it was a key zone for manufacturing processed food items. MasterCraft owned nearly every single business operation and thus was the employer for the vast majority of the people there. Retrand was no exception, both of his parents worked at MasterCraft plants, his father a production manager, and his mother worked dealing cards at one the casinos. His life was very middle class, but he did not dream of a life of business as usual. He dreamed of the stars, but luckily for him there was a way of getting there. Mega-Corporations like MasterCraft were always in need of willing individuals to join the crews of ships, or even to pilot some. Retrand enrolled in MasterCraft's pilot training program, a year long excercise that was available on Cadinon. He joined with MasterCraft's Security Systems as a escort fighter pilot. He would spend most of his young adult years patrolling the space in Cadinon, which would be rather uneventful.

Though the times would change when war would face Cadinon. A rival Mega-Corporation Dolomos Inc., viewed the monopoly MasterCraft held on Cadinon as disruptive and unfair for trading, particularly in the shipping of alcohol products to the many casinos. While a petttion was heard by the Collective Administration on Intersystem Trade, Dolomos Inc., prepared for a strike on MasterCraft's holdings on Cadinon. It was not unusual for these corporations to fight over trade routes and the like, so long as they did not damage or harm property not belonging to the other corporation. Dolomos Inc., placed a very heavy bet on their attack hoping that MasterCraft would yield after a devastating attack. When the Administration had rejected their petition, Dolomos Inc., launched their attack with nearly every vessel they could muster. Several dozen cruisers, battleships and countless fighters and frigates warped in on Cadinon Space and began to unleash their assault on the Stations surrounding the planet.

The Defense of the MasterCraft property fell on the shoulders of its Security Force, which was heavily outnumbered. Word was sent that MasterCraft would not reinforce Cadinon, and would allow it to fall. However, those there still had their duty. The several dozen fighters launched from their station and engaged the enemy, among them was Retrand. The fighting lasted a very long time, the superior Dolomos Inc., forces eventually had overwhelmed the defending soldiers and took the fight to the surface. Retrand during the fighting managed to take down 12 enemy fighters, before he was hit and forced to land and join with the defending forces on the ground. The Senate of Cadinon refused to intervene, feeling abandoned by MasterCraft.

It was here that Retrand learned valuable skills in leadership, where he was among the few who would remain defending MasterCraft installations. Unable to attack the city itself, Dolomos was forced to send in footmen to take control of the Corporate Office on Candinaria, where Retrand would be among the few leaders defending the office. During this battle Retrand was seriously wounded, and was captured. When Dolomos prepared to declare themselves the victor, news reached the planet that MasterCraft had launched its own assault on Dolomos Inc.'s, head corporate office and had forced the chairman to surrender in the conflict and pay damages, this had given the public an incredibly poor vision of the company and its value dropped to pennies overnight, which would be bought by another rival ZEKorp.

Retrand's experience had gained him the prestige needed to land him a promotion, where he served as the executive officer on board a patrol frigate, MasterCraft Patrol Frigate CO139. He would spend the next 12 years, until he would eventually take command of the frigate that would come at the worst possible moment in time. He had just turned 47, and his home of Cadinon was now under threat of invasion by Feramos. At this time, MasterCraft had already lost their monopoly while resources were shifted to compete in newer markets leaving the planet to defend itself. Cadinon, while not the principle target in the system was attacked nonetheless.

Cadinon was on the verge of destruction and a call to arms was announced, but the world that had enjoyed relative peace had few soldiers and poor capabilities to defend their home. Retrand left his post and quit from his service to MasterCraft, and would return home to defend his people. The war was very short, a single Ferrian Dreadnaught bullied the government into surrendering once it opened fire on the surface. When Retrand returned home, the people were already begin assigned to work stations or dragged off into camps. The resources on the planet were limited, and many were being sent off to labor camps on distant worlds. Retrand refused to allow his people to be traded as slaves and joined in with the resistance, and for two years he fought a brutal campaign to throw out the invaders but his efforts were wasted.
