Please. No ponies.

I heard rumors around le Internet that Nintendo has begun production on the new Wii Zelda.
There really is no official information yet (Duh, it's a rumor) but if they have really started, that's great news. I wonder what they have cooking this time... probably the same old same old, but it's going to have a new twist and it's going to be more casual friendly :-/

Anyways, thoughts?

I suppose it's good that production is supposedly happening.

...... that's all I have to say.

Whatever the unique, new feature happens to be this time around, I doubt it'll disappoint. This is excluding the inhabitants of GameFAQs, of course.

I don't believe I'd really mind a first-person view implementation either.

At E3 they said it was, as well as the new Mario. However, the Regginator also said Nintendo brings smiles and look how that one turned out.

Either way, I don't want a first person perspective. I don't really care for it; let alone in my Zelda games.

I really hope Zelda can stay away from being a casual game. First person view would be meh for me.

Eh, I personally wouldn't want a first person. I kinda like knowing what around me rather than in front, especially for puzzles.

I seriously don't care if the next Zelda is in Third or First-Person (First person would be interesting though) As long as they don't make it so casual that Mii's are in it or something (Ugh, I'll smash my Wii if they do that) then I'm fine with any new changes, it could change the Zelda franchise, in a good way hopefully...

Ehh, I don't know. I always like seeing Link, then going to first person to use slingshot/bow.

It's going to be something so unexpectedly different that it will stun the competition. The game will reach players at the deepest levels. For the first time in the suffering franchise, characters will have personalities like something else... motivation both outspoken and hidden. The world will be sprawling, for real this time. The story will be non-linear, but all of it will be seen and played through the first time. There will be many playable characters, some of whom are evil. Every single game in the series will be brought back to life in this. Every concept that seemed destined for this generation but forgotten will be revived and made immortal in a wonderful mosaic of everything we should have seen years ago, but never imagined.

Quote me on that so that I seem like an idiot when it turns out to be Twilight Princess v.2

Most of those things are what make the games ZELDA to me. I like the lack of dialogue (from the protagonist, at least). Hyrule in Twilight Princess was plenty big for the kind of game that it is. If I want a non-linear game, I'll play Oblivion (the bigger map fits more with this kind of game). Actually, looking at your post, it seems as if you want Zelda to become Oblivion... No thanks.

I've never played that game in my life, and I really don't know what it's even about. Your comparisons may seem fit for accusations by your eyes, but not by mine.

In any case, Hyrule as a place has a lot of potential. It's already rich in history, but it needs something more. They could have a few things from Wind Waker in real graphics, perhaps something like sailing to and from different continents.

The only thing I really, really want to see... is Majora.

Whoa, high expectations. I definitely don't believe it'll be that groundbreaking, but stranger things have happened. It'll be good nonetheless.

Yeah, that's just what it should be. I don't think it will be anything like that though.

Yeah, the idea that you presented did seem to be a little far out for a Zelda game.
But the idea of Majora? I'm with you, they should bring him back.
