I'd welcome a new main character myself, but we all know that fanboys and most other people would complain about such a change. But it'd really attract alot of attention and maybe boost the interest of the game up if Link was a new character/different gender.

I might be wrong, but I feel like the next game is going to be a TP v.2 and OoT v.3. If that happens then that is the last Zelda I will ever buy.
I'd buy it because of that. I'd much rather have a recreation of OoT instead of Spirit Tracks. Something just doesn't feel right with that game. Trains in Zelda? No.

M Rating? As long as it's because of violence and language, I don't really want sexual themes in Zelda too much.

Well, it's not as though the Legend of Zelda games have all been geared towards younger audiences. I really don't think that it would be a major step up to add some gore in the next Zelda game. Twilight Princess had a rating of T, so why not bump it up a notch? They should make a Zelda game for the older, more mature audiences. A nice M rating wouldn't hurt, so long as nothing really hindered the basic Zelda feel.
Perhaps it isn't geared entirely, but I would think a majority of their sales were to people below 18. I'm sure Halo also sold a lot of games to below-18s though as well.

True, but Nintendo has a way of catering to different audiences at different times. I think there could be a whole world of untapped medieval (which is where most Zelda games seem to be placed, I guess) customs that could be added to the game. It'd almost be as if someone had mixed Oblivion or Assassin's Creed with a Zelda game. Imagine the in-depth combat (complete with gore and made more realistic with the Wii Motion Plus) of Zelda, combined with corrupt powers of medieval Europe (hangings, witch hunts [ok, maybe those didn't really catch on till the colonial days in Salem, but come on >_>], burnings at the stake, etc.). I can't really articulate it well right now, as it just came to me, but I hope you get the point, somewhat. It's basically just a darker Zelda game, but the "darkness" includes human brutality towards one-another, as well.

You'd have to keep in mind what was (or would be, if the time coincides with my above conjectures) considered "sexual" in that time.

But still, just how many M-rated games has Nintendo made? Don't they mainly leave that to Sony, Microsoft, and third-parties? It may be a pretty nice idea as long as it is kept to violence and language. Any of the other things which make games rated M may deter half of the market.

It doesn't necessarily have to be rated M. I just think that it would be the best way to make Zelda like the way I posted without having to limit the game in any way. Medieval Europe was serious ****ing business, you know.

I agree with what you said earlier, that would be awesome. Also, yes, Medieval Europe was serious fucking business.

I'd rather have neither, because I've played OoT 4 times (Two OoT playthroughs, Two TP playthroughs) and want something a little different. This is why I'm excited for the new Wii Zelda (don't give 2 cents about Failure Tracks) because it might bring something new to the table (that isn't the Hint 2.0 patent)

As for sexual themes, the great fairy in the Cave of Ordeals in TP? That is as close as sexual as you are probably going to get with Nintendu. (probably)

I'm neutral about "failure tracks", I don't know too much about it. As for the fairy... you're probably right.

Spirit Tracks is going to be interesting. It'll either be pretty good, or it'll be Phantom Hourglass 1.5.

Well, it does look like they stole a lot from Phantom Hourglass from seeing the little I've seen.

I'm ok with the game play and the graphics so far. I just hope the story isn't a rehash of Phantom Hourglass. That's really the only thing that would really annoy me.

Most Zelda games are a rehash of the same story anyway. :P
