Yay!

http://nintendo.joystiq.com/2008/10/09/miyamoto-wants-big-new-ideas-in-next-zelda/

So, now that we have that out of the way, speculation continues. I'm thinking Miyamoto wants a homage/tribute to Ocarina of Time, but, like the article says, with a lot of new ideas (which is like OoT because it redifined a genre/series).

Discuss.

No first person in next Zelda.

Obviously excluding stuff like the Bow and Hookshot (Or whatever they decide to use).

Sounds good.

Please. No ponies.

They avoid making it another OoT wannabe and I'm O.K.

Seriously, I don't want Hyrule Fields; Give me something similar to Majora's Mask with a dark story. Heck, I'll take anything so long as it looks good.

I just don't want it to be set in Hyrule. Some new land to explore would be fantastic. Either way, though, I can't see the results disappointing me.

But aren't most of many Zelda games either in 3rd person or in an overhead fashion?

What I want in the next Zelda:

Harder Game
Longer Game (TP was said to be 80 hours..Pfft)
Different Weapons

Uh..thats all I can think about for now XD

Harder Game; possible, but will it happen? Up to Nintendo.

Twilight Princess was said to be 80 hours? Funny, ToS stated the same thing, but it was still fairly long.

Different weapons, meow.

TP took me 65 first time playing. It now takes me between 15-25, and maybe 30 if I screw around.

Twilight Princess is longer than I thought.

Of course, it doesn't matter now since the game kinda disappointed me a lot in the beginning, since it was pretty boring.

this. yes.

but I'd like it to have hyrule in it IN ADDITION to other worlds.
sort of what they did with Pokemon Gold and silver.

Kanto + Jhoto = win

The only thing I really want is to keep Zelda for real gamers, don't make it casual. However, a new land would be interesting.

Yeah, a new land would be nice. Or you get to play as Ganon, better yet.

Yayy no first person! Though, I don't mind using it for slingshot/arrows/etc.

That's pretty much what I want as well. TP was a big letdown from what was promised at E3. I also recall someone mentioning 8 story dungeons? Yeah...

Anyways, a deeper and more original storyline would be nice, something akin to MM would be excellent, maybe even a bit darker, like, not only is there an ominous force at work and the people know about, but there would also be outbreaks of random chaos throughout the game that the player could either help suppress or take part in.

What I guess I'm saying is that I would like to see a bit more user input in terms of decision making and plot altering ultimatums.

Yes. First person is not a standard in Zelda games.
