The one in the bed, sat up, revealing himself as a young man with long blonde hair. He yawned and stretched his arms, until Yumi hit him with the newspaper again. “You sleep too late, Kazuki!” Kazuki groaned, putting his head back on his pillow. “Well, it’s not like anything special is going on today,” he said, trying to fall back to sleep. Yumi struck him in the head with the newspaper again. “It’s your birthday, moron!” Kazuki grabbed the newspaper out of Yumi’s hands and tossed it away from her, while keeping his eyes closed the whole time. “You’re gonna have to go to work in a couple of minutes too,” she said, sighing. Kazuki sat back up quickly. “Damn it!” he shouted, jumping out of bed and running towards his closet to get clothes. “Why didn’t you wake me?!” “I just did, you ass!” Yumi yelled, running over to Kazuki and slapping him in the face. “Stop hitting me!” Kazuki ordered, removing a shirt from the closet and putting it on. “Stop yelling at me!” Yumi shouted, slapping him again. “I will once you stop hitting me!” Kazuki yelled while starting to put on socks. “I won’t stop hitting you till you stop yelling!” Yumi gave Kazuki another slap, who retaliated by pushing Yumi onto the bed. “Damn your stubbornness!” Kazuki shouted, grabbing his shoes. There was silence for a moment, as Yumi glared at Kazuki, who had finished putting on his shoes. “Oh, Kazuki,” she said in a much calmer voice. “What now?” Kazuki asked. He turned to face her and was immediately punched in the stomach. He groaned and began to slowly make his way towards the hallway. “Ugh... If I’m late again, I’m going to be fired.” Kazuki ran down the hallway, passing his younger sister, Mai, who looked confused. “What was all that yelling about?” Mai asked Kazuki. “Can’t talk now! Going to be late!” Kazuki replied. “But you don’t have to work for another hour!” Mai shouted to Kazuki, whom had just opened the door and was ready to leave. Kazuki froze momentarily and then shut the door slowly. “...What time is it?” “9 O’clock,” Mai said, watching Kazuki slowly make his way back to her position. Kazuki looked at the clock in his sister’s room, confirming the time, and then clenched his fists. “Yumi...tricked me?” Yumi, who was watching from the doorway to Kazuki’s room, giggled softly and then waved at Kazuki, who suddenly became enraged. He took off the shoe on his right foot and threw it at Yumi, who avoided it by running back into Kazuki’s room. Kazuki charged into his room, but was met with a punch to the face as soon as he passed the doorway. He fell down, holding his face in pain. “Tell me why you tricked me!” he ordered, rising back up. “I wanted to spend time with you on your birthday before you had to leave,” she answered, turning away to hide her face. “But I don’t know if I want to now, you jerk!” Kazuki stared wide-eyed for a few seconds. “...Is that true?” he asked. Yumi turned her head slightly, so that she could see Kazuki out of the corner of her eye. “No,” she said, punching him again in the stomach. Kazuki crumbled to the ground in pain once more. “You’re...a demon...” Kazuki said quietly, holding his stomach. He crawled out of the room and stood up once he was in the hallway. “I’m leaving. If I get to work early, my boss might like me a bit more. I’ll see you later, Mai.” “Bye, brother,” Mai said as Kazuki walked by her, heading towards the garage. “What about me? Don’t you want to see me later?” Yumi questioned, following Kazuki to the garage. “Not really,” he answered, grabbing his car keys off of the kitchen table and opening the door to the garage. Yumi frowned. “Well, be home on time tonight. We’re going to have a big surprise for you, since it’s your birthday!” “I’ll be back on time tonight. I promise,” Kazuki stated, walking over to what looked like an old beat up brown car. Yumi shut the door, leaving Kazuki alone in the garage. He opened the door and tried to start the car, which didn’t turn on. He tried turning the key multiple times, until he saw a piece of paper taped to the steering wheel. What the...? he thought, grabbing the piece of paper and unfolding it, revealing that it was a note. Kazuki began to read it. “Dear Kazuki, I took all of the gas out of your car and put it in my own. No, you may not use my car. From Yumi.” Kazuki growled and crumpled the note with his hand, tossing it into the backseat. He then got out of the car and began walking down the driveway. I guess I’m walking today... Walking along the sidewalk, Kazuki saw a green haired woman sitting on a bench. He noticed that she was watching him in the corner of her eyes. Kazuki, however, ignored her and continued walking to Ujizane’s Pizza, a small pizza place where Kazuki worked as a delivery boy. Kazuki lived in Nagasaki, a city on the island of Kyushu, along with his younger sister Mai, and the Yamanashi family, which consisted of Yumi and her two parents. The Yamanashi family was sheltering Kazuki and Mai, for they had no home of their own. Minutes later, Kazuki noticed the same green-haired woman following him. He was watching her out of the corner of his eye, but was distracted by sudden gun shots he heard in the distance. The noise caused Kazuki to look away from the woman, in the direction the sound was coming from. After the sound faded away, he looked back to where the woman was standing earlier, but couldn’t find her. ========================= “Prince Roland, it seems that the Elevens aren’t too happy with your new law,” a man dressed in a Britannian uniform said to a young man sitting on a large red chair. “It seems they’ve started an uprising here in Nagasaki.” “What a bother,” Roland replied, resting his head on his left hand. “General Yanick, prepare the Royal Guard.” “Actually, sir, it seems like it’s an organized attack. Looks like the work of a terrorist group,” Yanick stated. “The local police force says that the terrorists are using Knightmares.” “Knightmares? How many are there?” “That hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it appears to be only a small amount,” Yanick replied, pressing a button on a small remote he was holding. “Kill every one of them,” Roland ordered, getting out of his chair and walking over to Yanick and a large screen displaying various information about the situation. ========================= Fuyu Inoue, a female member of Colonial Japanese Resistance Group, the CJRG, searched the city of Nagasaki while piloting her Yamato, a light red colored Knightmare. Occasionally she would run across some Britannian soldiers piloting Harlands, a Knightmare based off the hugely successful Sutherland model. She was searching for the viceroy of Area 11, Prince Roland le Britannia. Fuyu spotted a building guarded by three Harlands. She immediately took action, launching the Slash Harkens located in the Yamato’s chest, which crashed into the cockpits of two of the Harlands. The third, after noticing the terrorist, began firing it’s handheld assault rifle at Fuyu. Fuyu, being a talented pilot, was easily able to avoid every shot fired at her, using a Slash Harken to attack the Harland. The Harland dashed to the side, avoiding the Slash Harken, then launching it’s own towards Fuyu. The attack slammed into the Yamato’s energy filler and pinned it against a large building. Fuyu retaliated by launching another Slash Harken into the Harland’s cockpit, killing the pilot. The Yamato’s energy filler was drained after being hit, preventing Fuyu from moving. Although the Knightmare’s cameras were still working, the cockpit wouldn’t open either. Damn... I guess I have to wait until I can be rescued... She pulled out a lighter and a pack of cigarettes from her pockets, lighting one of the cigarettes and smoking it. ========================= Kazuki, after hearing fighting near him, sprinted to where the sounds were coming from. After a couple of minutes, he found himself viewing three destroyed Harlands and a destroyed Yamato. “A rebel attack?” he asked himself, walking up to one of the destroyed Harlands. The Harland nearest him appeared to have had the cockpit completely destroyed. The Knightmare was lying on it’s back and the pilot upper body was hanging out. A small pistol sat on the road, directly next to the pilot, who Kazuki presumed was dead, judging by the piece of metal that was piercing the left side of his chest. Kazuki picked up the pistol that was on the pavement and examined the building directly to his right. “Roland is in there,” Kazuki said to himself, grinning. “If I kill him now, they’ll believe he was killed by rebels...” He walked slowly through the front doors, checking to make sure the pistol was loaded. Fuyu watched Kazuki in astonishment through the cameras of the Yamato. What the...? ========================= Roland looked out the window, panicking, after watching the fight between Fuyu and the three Harlands. “General, call some more guards right away!” His order was answered with a gunshot. Roland turned around to see Yanick fall to the ground, dying. He froze in terror, watching the staircase to see who was coming up. After a few seconds, he saw a familiar face. “K-Kazuki? Is that you?” “It’s been a long time, Roland,” Kazuki said, standing on the opposite side of the room as the viceroy. “They told me you and your family died when your home caught fire,” Roland stated, amazed that Kazuki was still alive. “They were wrong. I escaped with Mai and fled to Japan.” “Why hide it?” Roland questioned. There was silence for a moment as Kazuki stared coldly at Roland. “The fire that killed my family and siblings was intentional, Roland. The emperor ordered our execution,” Kazuki said, pointing his gun at Roland’s head. The viceroy froze with fear again. “D-Don’t shoot me! I had nothing to do with it!” “I want to make you suffer like I have, uncle,” Kazuki began, smirking. “With this pistol, I will show you that there are some wounds that can’t be sewn up.” Roland’s eyes widened. “P-Please don’t shoot!” Kazuki grinned. “I never liked you,” he declared, pulling the trigger. Stage 2: The Birth of an Anti-Angel Kazuki walked out the front doors of Roland’s headquarters, checking to make sure no one was around to see him. After believing that it was clear, Kazuki began walking away, only to suddenly notice the green haired woman he had seen earlier walk out from behind one of the destroyed Harlands. He pointed his pistol at her and held it with both hands. “Who are you?” he questioned. “You can call me C.C.,” she replied, walking closer to Kazuki. “Why have you been following me?” Kazuki asked, gripping the pistol harder as she got closer. “Kazuki vi Britannia, I’ve come to offer you a deal,” C.C. answered, now standing only a few feet from Kazuki. Kazuki’s eyes widened. She knows my real name... “If you promise to make my one wish come true, I will grant you the Power of the King,” C.C. said. “Power of the King? You mean...Geass?” Kazuki questioned, lowering his weapon. “That is correct,” she answered, earning a grin from Kazuki. “I’ve always wanted Geass...but because of my Japanese blood, my grandfather never gave me one,” Kazuki started. “Well, what’s your wish?” “W-What?” C.C. asked, bewildered. “...You said I’d have to make your wish come true. I’d like to know what that would be before I accept,” Kazuki stated. “Oh,” C.C. began. “In exchange for Geass, I’d like you to...destroy Britannia.” Kazuki began laughing. “Very well,” he said. “I planned on destroying the Empire anyway.” C.C. grabbed Kazuki’s left hand with her right hand and let go a few seconds later. “That’s it?” Kazuki asked. “Yup,” she answered, suddenly looking over Kazuki’s shoulder, spotting two Britannian soldiers with machine guns run out of Roland’s headquarters. Kazuki turned to face them and they pointed their guns at him after noticing the pistol he was holding. “Are you the one that killed Prince Roland?” one of the soldiers asked. “I might be,” Kazuki answered, smirking. “Prepare to die!” the second soldier shouted. A glowing bird-shaped symbol began glowing in Kazuki’s left eye and both soldiers suddenly dropped their guns and began yelling in pain. Kazuki proceeded to kill them both with his pistol, afterwards grabbing one of their machine guns. “Best birthday present ever...” He turned to face C.C. again, but while turning around, he noticed something he didn’t notice earlier. “Damn, the pilot in the Yamato is still alive... Only the energy filler was hit...” “Yeah, I was going to warn you about that, but we were interrupted by those soldiers,” C.C. said, looking at the Yamato as well. “I wonder why they haven’t come out,” Kazuki said. “Cockpit must be stuck... It’s a good thing they’re too far away to see who I am...” “So, what are you going to do now?” C.C. asked. “Follow me,” Kazuki ordered, walking past the Yamato and heading further into the city. C.C. followed, as ordered. Before long, the two came across two Britannian soldiers talking. Their Harlands sat behind them. He shot both soldiers and searched their pockets. He found two keys to the Harlands and tossed one to C.C., who caught it successfully. “You want me to pilot one of these Knightmares?” C.C. asked. “That is correct,” Kazuki answered. “I’m sure you can handle it.” He climbed into the cockpit of one of the Harlands, while C.C. began climbing into the other. “Let’s go,” he said after turning the Knightmare on. ========================= Damn... Fuyu thought, watching two more Harland’s appear in front of her. She was expecting death, but was surprised when one of the Harland’s ripped a hole into the wall of the cockpit of her Yamato, allowing her to escape and climb down. Kazuki flipped a switch on the inside of the Harland and grabbed a microphone, so that he could talk to Fuyu. “Are you a member of the Colonial Japanese Resistance Group?” he asked Fuyu after she finished climbing down the side of her Knightmare. “Yes, I am,” she answered. “Who are you?” “You can call me Talon. My friend in the other Harland is C.C.,” Kazuki stated. “We are here to help the CJRG as strategic advisors and Knightmare pilots, if necessary.” Fuyu lit a new cigarette and began smoking it. “Well, I’m not the leader of the group. There isn’t much I can do for you,” she said. “I understand. If you tell us where your leader is, I’ll carry you to him via this Harland’s hand,” Kazuki said, lowering the Knightmare’s hand to the ground. Fuyu climbed onto it and held onto the thumb. “He should be piloting a Yamato to the north of here,” she said. “Thank you,” Kazuki said, beginning to move north, with C.C. following him. After a few minutes, they came across a group of 4 Yamatos. One of them had a long spike on the top of the head, symbolizing that it was in charge. The four Yamatos took aim and prepared to attack, but halted after seeing that one of the Harland’s was carrying Fuyu. “Are you Mitsuru Handa?” Kazuki questioned. “Leader of the Colonial Japan Resistance Group?” “That’s me,” a voice coming from the commanding Yamato said. “Allow me to introduce myself,” Kazuki began. “I am Talon and this is C.C.,” he said, having his Knightmare point to the C.C.’s. “We have stolen these Harlands and would like to assist you in defeating the Britannian military in this area. If you would be so kind as to follow our orders, we can assure you victory over their much larger forces.” “That would be swell,” Mitsuru replied, after a few moments of silence. “We need all the help we can get...” “How many Knightmares do you have deployed?” Kazuki asked. “We’ve got eight, assuming Fuyu’s was destroyed,” Mitsuru replied. “Fuyu’s the girl I’m carrying, correct?” “Yeah, that’s her.” “Alright,” Kazuki began. “I would like everyone to split into groups of two and simply search and destroy any Britannian soldiers you see.” “What?! That’s basically suicide! They’ll need a strategy to win!” Fuyu shouted. Kazuki placed Fuyu into Mitsuru’s Knightmare’s hand. “Do not worry. I’ve already taken care of Prince Roland and General Yanick. Their forces are in a panic. It shouldn’t be difficult at all.” “...You’ve killed them both already?” “Correct,” Kazuki said. “Now, get going. I’d like for you to defeat the forces here before any Britannian reinforcements arrive. I shouldn’t have to tell you that that would cause trouble.” “Understood,” Mitsuru replied. He and the two Yamato’s accompanying him left, heading down the street until they disappeared from sight. “C.C.,” Kazuki began. “Why did you choose to give Geass to me?” “I made a promise to an old friend to destroy Britannia,” she replied. “But I can’t do it alone. That is why I need you.” “What happens if I die?” “I will not allow you to die until you fulfill the terms of our contract,” C.C. answered. “I am going to protect you any way I can.” “What happens if my life is threatened while you aren’t around?” Kazuki asked. “That’s not a possibility. In order to protect you, I will be at your side constantly.” “Uhh...constantly?” “Correct,” C.C. stated. Kazuki groaned, which was followed by a few moments of silence. “So, if you’re able to give people Geass, that means you’re immortal, right? Just like my grandfather?” “That is correct. I cannot die.” “Well then, you can help me figure out a way to kill an immortal person. We can’t defeat Britannia until the emperor is gone, you know,” Kazuki said. “You could just lock him away, instead of killing him,” C.C. suggested. “Where’s the fun in that?” Kazuki asked, growling. “And if he stays alive, there’s always the chance he’ll escape and restore the empire.” “We’ll think of something,” C.C. declared. The radio suddenly turned on in Kazuki’s Harland and Mitsuru began talking through it. “Talon, I believe we’ve eliminated all Britannian Knightmares in the area. We’ve only suffered one casualty. What would you like us to do next?” “Excellent work, Mitsuru,” Kazuki began. “I’d like for you to rendezvous with me and C.C. near the late viceroy prince Roland’s headquarters. I’ve got something I’d like to show you.” Kazuki and C.C. moved back to where the 3 destroyed Harlands and the Yamato sat and waited for the arrival of the terrorists. Everything is going according to plan... Edited by Kururugi, Aug 11 2008, 05:09 PM.

Stage 3: The First of Many Lies Kazuki wanted to obliterate Britannia, but the Colonial Japanese Resistance Group merely planned on liberating Japan. In order to obliterate Britannia, Kazuki knew he needed allies and so, in spite of the different goals, Kazuki joined up with the CJRG, keeping his real goal a secret...for now. “Woah, look at all those boxes!” Fuyu shouted. Kazuki had torn open the wall to a warehouse, which was completely filled up with wooden crates stacked on top of each other. Each crate was quite large and sealed shut. “But, what’s in them?” Mitsuru asked, staring at the crates in amazement. A small screen turned on in his Knightmare, displaying the words “sound only.” “Sakuradite,” Kazuki declared. “Sakuradite? Seriously?” Mitsuru questioned. He couldn’t believe that there was so much Sakuradite right before him. Sakuradite had become quite rare in Japan. The Britannians took most of it back to their homeland. “Yes, Sakuradite,” Kazuki replied. “I suggest that you use it to create some Knightmares. Those Yamatos you guys use aren’t exactly up-to-date.” “But, where did all of this come from?” Fuyu asked, picking up a crate with her Knightmare. Although her Knightmare was destroyed earlier, she borrowed someone else’s Yamato. “Roland had some of it stored here for use in the Knightmare Development Project,” Kazuki answered. “The Knightmare Development Project?” Fuyu asked, confused. “Yes. Roland planned on using Sakuradite to create multiple prototype Knightmares. Each was planned to have experimental features, but I’m not sure on what the specifics were,” Kazuki said, watching as the CJRG’s Knightmares began picking up crates as Fuyu did. “This is incredible,” Mitsuru added. “I think we’re going to have to give you a chance.” “I only have one request,” Kazuki began. “I would like a prototype built for a Knightmare I designed as soon as possible. I’ll give you the specifics later.” “I suppose I can deal with that request,” Mitsuru stated. After a few moments of silence, Fuyu moved her Knightmare to stand right in front of Kazuki’s. “Who are you?” she asked. She found it hard to believe that someone could assassinate both Prince Roland and General Yanick and know about secret Sakuradite reserves. “I told you earlier. I am Talon,” Kazuki replied. “What’s your real name?” she questioned. “I cannot tell you,” Kazuki answered. “Well, then, at least show us your face!” she shouted. “I cannot do that, either,” Kazuki said, turning his Knightmare as if he was to leave. “If you keep demanding to know my identity, then I shall take leave. Good luck fighting the Britannians without me.” “Wait!” Mitsuru shouted, jumping in between Fuyu and Kazuki. “We need you... Please, don’t go.” Fuyu moved to pick up more crates. “Well, I don’t trust him...” “I don’t trust him either!” a male voice coming from another Yamato said. “Quiet, Tsuyo,” Mitsuru ordered. He heard the voice growl and then turn off his radio. “That is perfectly alright,” Kazuki said, turning his Harland back around. “In time, I will earn your trust." Fuyu sighed, grabbing as many crates as she could. Mitsuru grabbed some crates as well. After a few moments of silence, Kazuki began to speak again. “I suppose I can tell you this much, though. I cannot tell you who I am, for I am supposed to be dead.” “D-Dead?” Fuyu asked, having her interest in learning his identity raised even further. Mitsuru suddenly noticed two red dots appear on his radar. “Talon, I’ve spotted two Knightmare units headed our way.” “Only two?” Kazuki asked. “Sending visual now,” Mitsuru said, pressing a button next to the radar. “Shit!” Kazuki immediately shouted after seeing the Knightmares. “These two are members of the Knights of Rounds! What the hell are they doing here? I thought they were in North America!” The Knights of Rounds is a group of twelve elite soldiers. They are said to be unmatched in Knightmare piloting and were feared by every anti-Britannian movement. “What do you want us to do?” Mitsuru asked, now nervous and beginning to sweat. “C.C., I want you to take Mitsuru and the others outside of the city and fight them there. I’ve got something else I need to do. Make sure there aren’t any innocent civilians in the area, though,” Kazuki commanded. “Very well,” C.C. replied. “Come with me.” She began moving away, with the Yamatos following her. Kazuki moved the opposite direction, until the sudden appearance of a Knightmare forced him to stop. Damn...I was hoping they wouldn’t notice me... The Knightmare was almost completely white, except for its black fingers and the large rose painted on its chest and stomach areas. In just a few short seconds, the pilot determined that Kazuki was an enemy and launched a Slash Harken out of it’s forehead towards Kazuki. “Die, terrorist!” a female voice shouted from inside the Knightmare. Kazuki spun out of the way, avoiding the Slash Harken. Damn, I don’t think I’ll be able to defeat a Knight of Rounds... He began firing the handheld assault rifle at the white Knightmare, which retaliated by suddenly creating a large see-through green shield in front of it. The shield was attached to its arm and then disappeared after Kazuki finished firing. “I see you’ve got some moves,” the female voice said. “But you’re no match for the Chaplin!” The Knightmare, which Kazuki now knew was called the Chaplin, began firing multiple Slash Harkens from its legs and its fingers towards Kazuki. Before the Slash Harkens hit, however, Kazuki noticed that his Harland had an integrated float system. Pressing some buttons, the Harland took off into the air, avoiding the Slash Harkens. He began flying over the ocean, which Nagasaki was built next to. The Chaplin followed right behind him, firing a Slash Harken every few seconds, which Kazuki easily avoided. Kazuki suddenly turned to face his enemy but continued to move in the direction he had been. He began firing the assault rifle again, but the Chaplin created another shield, blocking every bullet that was shot at it. Kazuki growled and then heard his cell phone ring. The caller ID said “Ujizane Sato.” Ujizane Sato was the owner of the pizza place Kazuki worked at. “Hello?” Kazuki said, answering his phone and trying to avoid the Slash Harkens being shot at him. “Kazuki, don’t bother coming to work today. The area around the shop has been closed off until further notice due to the...Do I hear gun shots?” Kazuki was firing his assault rifle at his enemy, but stopped after Ujizane heard it. “Uh, yeah...Fighting started up near me,” he said, lying. The Chaplin continued to launch it’s Slash Harkens relentlessly towards Kazuki, who was trying to pilot the Knightmare using only one hand. Although he avoided most of them, one Slash Harken crashed into the Harland’s foot, completely destroying that part of the Knightmare. “Gah... I’ve got to go. Later,” Kazuki said, hanging up the phone and putting it in his pocket. He placed his second hand back on the controls and began firing his assault rifle again. The shield emerged once again, blocking every bullet Kazuki fired. Damn it...This thing has to have some sort of weakness...Maybe the shield drains energy? If that’s the case, then all I have to do is avoid attacks until they retreat... Kazuki fired more shots with the rifle, which were blocked by the same shield. Wait, what about my Energy Filler?! Kazuki quickly looked at how much energy at left. Shit, I’m running low! Kazuki pointed his rifle back at the Chaplin and began to fire, but only three bullets shot. Out of ammo? Kazuki threw the assault rifle at the Chaplin, which knocked it away, towards the ocean. One of the Chaplin’s Slash Harkens slammed into the Harland’s left arm. When the Slash Harken was pulled back in, the Harland’s arm fell right off. Before long, the Harland’s other arm was knocked off by a Slash Harken. Ugh...I only have one option left... Kazuki stopped avoiding the Slash Harkens, letting the next one to come at him hit him. During this time, however, Kazuki fired the Harland’s one remaining Slash Harken in it’s chest back at the Chaplin, which crashed into the chest with enough force that it damaged the Energy Filler. Both Knightmares began rapidly falling down towards a small island beneath them. ========================= Fuyu stared at the Knightmare standing before her and the others. The Knightmare was mainly a silver color, but had various green designs on it. There was a vicious looking green lion painted on the back and it was holding a very large sword in it’s right hand. “Stupid terrorists,” a male voice coming from the Knightmare began. “Grouping together won’t save you...” “Who the hell are you?!” Fuyu shouted, aiming the assault rifle she was carrying towards the Knightmare. “Standing before you now, is Akira Yondaime, the Knight of seven. Although, some people call me ‘Zodiac,’” the voice said. The Knightmare lifted up it’s sword, preparing to attack. “My Knightmare’s called Constellation...now...DIE!” Akira’s Knightmare suddenly burst forward and he instantly cut one of the Yamatos in half. The Yamato began to explode instantly, before the pilot could eject. “One down, eight to go...” Akira said, looking at the other Knightmares he planned on eliminating. “You bastard!” Fuyu shouted, firing her assault rifle. Before long, another Yamato was destroyed, followed by another, and another. “Only five left already?” Akira smirked. “You idiots aren’t even worth my time.” Akira sighed and scratched his head. “Oh well...Might as well finish what I started...” In an instant, another Yamato was destroyed, leaving only Mitsuru, Fuyu, C.C., and Tsuyo. But, a few moments later, Tsuyo’s Yamato was hit by a Slash Harken that was launched out of the Constellation’s chest. Tsuyo ejected, but it launched at a strange angle and the cockpit didn’t go very far. Akira began laughing. “You guys aren’t tough at all! A child could do better than you!” “Have any plans, C.C.?” Mitsuru asked. “No. I’m simply Talon’s subordinate. I don’t help him come up with plans.” “That’s not what I meant,” Mitsuru sighed. “Any last words?” Akira asked after he finally stopped laughing. He paused, waiting for a reply. “No? Well then, goodbye!” He was about to dash forward, but stopped when he heard the sound of a gun. Immediately after the shot was fired, the Constellation’s left arm began to fall apart. Everything beneath the elbow fell off. “What the hell?!” Akira yelled. Before long, a second shot was fired and the same thing happened to the Knightmare’s right arm. The giant sword dropped to the ground along with the lower half of the Knightmare’s right arm. “You idiots just got lucky...Stupid prototype must have been built with some defects...” Akira activated the Knightmare’s Energy Wing and began hovering over the ground. Then, he suddenly flew away at an incredible speed. “...What the hell just happened?” Fuyu asked. “Hey!” Tsuyo shouted from the ground. He was holding a sniper rifle and was waving his free arm to get noticed. “Did you guys see that? That was totally cool, man!” “Tsuyo, what did you just do?” Mitsuru questioned. “What? You mean the great Mitsuru Handa and Fuyu Inoue can’t figure it out?” Tsuyo began to laugh quietly to himself. “It’s quite simple, really. Knightmares aren’t perfect, you know. There is a hole in the armor at each joint. If there wasn’t a hole, the Knightmare wouldn’t be able to move much. But that hole is a major Knightmare weakness. I simply shot right through that hole in the armor at each elbow, man.” “I...see,” Mitsuru said, earning a large and radiant grin from Tsuyo. ========================= Kazuki opened his Harland’s cockpit and climbed down. He looked around, coming to the conclusion that he was on an island off the coast of Japan. He was standing on a beach, which was met with forest after only a couple of meters. He couldn’t see the coastline of Japan from where he was. He sat down next to the remains of his Harland, which was almost completely destroyed after the fall. He knew that he was stranded on this island, but didn’t know of a way to escape. After a short while, a woman jumped out of the forest, pointing a pistol at Kazuki’s head. “Alright, terrorist, keep your hands where I can see them!” “W-Wait! I’m not a terrorist!” Kazuki shouted, holding his hands in front of him as if he was going to try and block a bullet. “Why else would you be piloting a Harland?” she questioned, keeping the gun pointed at Kazuki’s head. “Well, you see, I inherited a lot of money after my parents passed away. I just bought this Harland from the military using that money to show off to my friends. It turns out today was the worst possible day to do so and I rushed home after I learned that terrorists were attacking...” “You piloted the Knightmare as well as a topnotch pilot. How do you explain that?!” she asked. “I took Knightmare training school. I graduated just last year at the top of my class,” Kazuki replied, now lowering his hands. “Why didn’t you try and tell me you were a civilian while we were fighting?” “I did try,” Kazuki began. “But my radio wasn’t working. I bought a used Harland and there were a few things wrong with it... I just got lucky during our fight. I found the rifle near a destroyed Harland in the city. I picked it up for protection.” There was a few moments of silence and then the woman lowered her weapon. “Although that story is ridiculous, I’m going to believe it, since you don’t look like a soldier at all,” she said, sitting next to Kazuki. “Well, that’s good news,” Kazuki said, wiping sweat off of his forehead. “For a second there I thought you were going to kill me...” “The radio in my Knightmare is busted now too, so I guess we’re just going to have to wait here until someone picks us up.” “I’m Kazuki Watanabe, by the way,” Kazuki said, after a minute of silence. “I’m Alison Lawley,” the woman said. “The Knight of Nine.” “You’re kidding right? I find it hard to believe that I was able to survive in combat against a Knight of Rounds!” Kazuki said, now staring at Alison. “Have you ever thought about joining the military?” Alison asked. “Nah, I don’t like killing. And besides, I doubt that the military would ever let an eleven like me join their ranks,” Kazuki replied, stretching and then leaning his head against the destroyed Harland. The two talked for hours, until a military helicopter began landing near them. “My Knightmare’s radar said you were on this island,” Akira said, poking his head out of the helicopter. Alison and Kazuki began climbing into the helicopter, though Akira didn’t even offer to help them. “Thanks for the pick up, Akira,” Alison said. “Humph...Who’s that moron with you?” Akira asked, pointing towards Kazuki. “He’s a civilian that got caught up in all of this,” she said, watching Kazuki take a seat on a bench that was built into the inside of the helicopter. Kazuki rested his head against the wall. If I befriend Alison and earn her trust, then maybe she’ll feed me information on the movements of the Britannian military or the Knights of Rounds. That would prove quite useful... Alison sat down next to Kazuki on the bench. “Sorry about your Knightmare,” she said. “I’ll make sure the military gives you your money back.” “That won’t be necessary. I’ve still got plenty of cash,” Kazuki said, turning his head to face, Alison. He smiled and then looked out the window. By the time they were back in Nagasaki, the sun was almost entirely set. The helicopter landed and the pilots told Kazuki to get off here. He jumped down and then turned to face Alison, who was watching by the door. “Uh, Alison?” “Hm?” “Uh...Can I...see you again?” he asked, scratching the back of his head. “Sure thing,” Alison said, smiling. “We’ll meet up again real soon.” “Alright, I’ll catch ya later, then,” Kazuki said, waving goodbye as the helicopter began to take off again. He turned around and began walking home, an evil grin forming on his face. Edited by Kururugi, Aug 14 2008, 08:09 AM.

Stage 4: Pier 13 Kazuki entered through the front door of his home, shutting the door quietly behind him. He thought everyone else was asleep, but was surprised when the lights suddenly turned on. He suddenly focused all his attention on Yumi, who was standing directly in front of him. “You’re late,” she declared. “I can explain...” Kazuki said, keeping one hand on the doorknob, just in case he needed to make a quick escape. “I’m glad,” she said as she grabbed him and began hugging him. “I was worried that you were killed by the terrorists...” “Oh, No, they didn’t get me... You didn’t really think mere terrorists could stop Kazuki Watanabe, did you?” Yumi tried to laugh, but couldn’t. After a minute she let go of Kazuki. “Oh, by the way, your friend has been waiting for you for a few hours,” she said, pointing to a woman sitting in a chair behind her. Kazuki looked behind Yumi, noticing C.C. sitting and quietly watching them. “...What are you doing here?” Kazuki asked her. “I came to make sure you made it back home today,” C.C. replied. “We are partners, after all.” “What? You mean like...partners in romance or something?” Yumi asked, extremely interested. “Kazuki made a very important promise about our future,” C.C. answered. “SAY WHAT?!” Yumi shouted. “She’s kidding,” Kazuki said. “There’s no reason to hide it, Kazuki,” C.C. said, getting out of the chair she was sitting in. “You’re a dreamer...” Kazuki said, walking past Yumi and next to C.C. “I’m going to bed. I’ll allow you to sleep on the couch for tonight.” Kazuki walked away, headed towards his room. Kazuki ran into Mai in the hallway, who had been sleeping but woke up after hearing Yumi shout. “Kazuki? I’m glad you’re home. We were all worried,” Mai said, rubbing her eyes. “Mai, you should know that here is no need to worry about me. Now, if you don’t mind, I’d like to get some sleep,” Kazuki said, walking pasr her and placing his hand on her shoulder. “We can talk tomorrow.” Kazuki walked into his room and shut the door behind him. He crawled into bed and tried to fall asleep, but was interrupted by C.C. opening the door and walking into the room. She dragged a chair in as well, placing it right next to Kazuki’s bed and sitting on it. “I thought I said to sleep on the couch,” Kazuki said, sitting up. “I can’t watch and protect you from the couch,” C.C. said. “It’s not like anything is going to happen while I sleep. Now, go back to the couch,” Kazuki ordered, dropping his head onto his pillow. “That’s not true,” C.C. began. “Someone could try and assassinate you.” “...You’re taking this protection thing very seriously, huh?” “Yes,” C.C. said. “I failed to protect the last person I entered a contract with and they were killed before they finished their part of the deal. I do not plan on making the same mistake twice.” Kazuki growled and then turned to face away from C.C. “Fine, do what you want.” C.C. smiled and watched as Kazuki slowly drifted to sleep. ========================= June 5th, 2073 “Prince Roland was found dead yesterday, along with his close subordinate General Arthur Yanick. It is suspected that the terrorists who attacked Nagasaki yesterday were the ones to do the evil deed. So far, however, there has been no evidence that would lead to a culprit. The police plan to keep searching, until they find the viceroy’s killer.” Mai sat quietly at the kitchen as she watched and listened to the news on a small TV. Yumi sat on the other end of the table, eating a bowl of cereal. “Prince Roland’s funeral is to be held at the Imperial Palace in North America on June 9th. In related news, it seems that Leon el Britannia will be taking over Roland’s position as viceroy of Area 11. It appears that he will be using Nagasaki as his base of operations, just as Roland had done before him.” About five minutes later, Kazuki awoke and stretched his arms. C.C. was sitting in the chair next to his bed, but was asleep. There was a box of pizza in her lap, although only two of the pieces were left, and she looked as though she was about to fall off of the chair she was sitting in. After Kazuki got up and got dressed, he grabbed a piece of the pizza and walked out the door, leaving C.C. alone in the room. He sat down next to Mai at the kitchen table, finishing the piece of pizza he took from C.C.. “Morning,” he said. “Good morning, Kazuki!” Yumi said rather loudly. “Good morning, brother,” Mai said while chewing a spoonful of cereal. “They said on the news that Roland was killed by the terrorists yesterday.” “Really? I thought that the terrorists might be attacking Nagasaki to get him,” Kazuki said, keeping the fact that he killed Roland a secret. “Did they say who would be replacing him?” “Yeah,” Mai began. “They said that Leon was going to be the new viceroy.” Kazuki grunted. Leon... “Huh? Something wrong?” Yumi asked, pouring herself a bowl of cereal. “No, nothing.” Kazuki answered. Leon... I remember Leon... He was always my equal in intellect. He won’t be as easy to eliminate as that fool, Roland... But, if I recall correctly, he never had Geass. That gives me one advantage over him... But, of course, he has the Britannian military on his side, while I have only a handful of terrorists... And those two Knights of Rounds... “I’m heading out,” Kazuki declared, getting out of his seat and walking towards the front door. “Tell C.C. that I’ll be back later.” “C.C.?” Mai asked. “You mean that girlfriend of yours?” “Yeah, her,” Kazuki answered. “Hey, I don’t see her. Where did she go?” Yumi asked, looking around for C.C. “She slept in my room,” Kazuki said. “...She...slept with you? I knew it! You two are a couple!” Yumi shouted, jumping out of her seat and throwing her arms around wildly. She began laughing, mocking and taunting Kazuki. “No, we’re not!” Kazuki shouted back, raising his fist at Yumi. “Yes, you are!” Yumi said, laughing. “I don’t have to put up with this! I’m leaving!” Kazuki growled, heading outside. He slammed the door behind him. Once Kazuki was sure he was alone, he pulled out his cell phone and dialed a number. “Hello?” “Hello, Mitsuru? This is Talon. I trust that you have begun construction on my Knightmare, since I did give you the specs last night.” “Yes, we have. It should be finished in just over a week, assuming there aren’t any interruptions in the development,” Mitsuru said. “After it’s finished, there should still be enough Sakuradite left over for 3 more Knightmares.” “Excellent,” Kazuki said. “Tomorrow, we are going to Yakushima Island to visit Mount Nagata. Since it’s a small island and not part of the mainland, there is still some Sakuradite there for us to take. I can’t tell you exactly how much, but I’m sure that it will be enough to create at least two more Knightmare Frames.” “But we don’t have any drills to get to the Sakuradite...” “There are some abandoned drills on the mountain which we can use,” Kazuki said. “Okay, but how are we supposed to get to the island?. Our Yamatos don’t have integrated float systems or energy wings and we don’t own a ship to carry us over the water.” “Do not worry about that,” Kazuki said. “Meet me at pier 13 in Nagasaki tomorrow morning. I will have a ship waiting in Omura bay to take us to the island,” Kazuki said, hanging up the phone once he finished speaking. Kazuki put his cell phone into his pocket and then looked towards the large ship sitting in the water in front of him. The sign next to him said “Pier 13.” Walking alongside the ship on the pier, Kazuki eventually walked by a man dressed in a sailor’s uniform. “You will hand your ship over to me,” he said, with the Geass bird symbol forming in his eye. The sailor began screaming in pain, which other sailor's heard. They rushed over to see what was going on, only to have the same thing happen to them. Kazuki whipped out a pistol and shot every sailor on the pier. Although I wouldn't normally shoot innocent people, these sailor's are Britannian, so I'll make an exception... He climbed onto the ship, bringing each sailor's lifeless body with him. He piled them in a spot where no one would find them and then searched around for the captain. Kazuki walked into the control room, pointing his pistol at the captain's head and firing. Now to find the keys... Edited by Kururugi, Aug 15 2008, 02:02 PM.

Stage 5: Invitation June 6th, 2073 Mitsuru, inside a Yamato, examined Pier 13. Alongside him was Fuyu, Tsuyo, and 21 other CJRG members, each in their own Yamato. They showed up at the pier at the time Talon had asked them to, but saw no sign of him. “Were we set up?” Tsuyo questioned, after looking around and seeing no one waiting for them on the pier. “I doubt it,” Mitsuru said. “The ship is here.” “Do you see a guy waiting for us? I don’t see one,” Tsuyo said. “What if that new viceroy and the Britannian military show up now, while we just sit here?!” “Relax,” Fuyu ordered. “Leon isn’t even in Japan yet. He won’t arrive for another few hours.” Kazuki, who was waiting on the ship, stepped out onto the entrance ramp that connected the ship and the pier. The costume he was wearing looked exactly the same as the one Zero had worn during the Black Rebellion, except for one part. The blue parts on the body were colored blood red. This change, however, could not be noticed while Kazuki wrapped himself up with the cape, making him look exactly like Zero. “Greetings,” Kazuki said, walking onto the pier in front of the members of the Colonial Japanese Resistance Group. C.C. followed closely behind him, but she was dressed as she normally was. “What the hell?!” Tsuyo shouted. “Isn’t Zero supposed to be dead?!” Mitsuru and Fuyu both looked shocked, while other members of the group began whispering to each other through their radios. “I am Talon,” Kazuki said, moving the cape and revealing the blood red colors on the body. “Is that C.C. behind you?” Mitsuru asked, taking a few steps forward with his Knightmare. “Yes,” Kazuki replied, wrapping the cape back around him. “What’s with the Zero outfit?” Tsuyo questioned, taking a few steps forward as well. “I considered many different outfits,” Kazuki began. “I settled with this one, however, because it will strike more fear into the hearts of the Britannians than anything else. Although, it does look somewhat ridiculous...” “It most certainly does!” Tsuyo exclaimed, laughing. “Well, let’s go. The sooner we get to Yakushima Island the better. You can store your Knightmares with the other cargo at the bottom of the ship,” Kazuki said, walking back up the entrance ramp. ========================= Upon arriving at Yakushima Island, Kazuki and the rest of the Colonial Japanese Resistance Group climbed to the top of Mount Nagata, where multiple drills were waiting for them. Tsuyo pulled off the roof of a building near the summit and looked down towards the multiple people inside. “Leave the island,” he ordered. The men inside were obviously frightened and nodded their heads, before running outside. They quickly ran down the side of the mountain. Kazuki stood at the summit, looking down towards the city at the bottom of the mountain. Mitsuru approached him from behind. “Has the city been evacuated?” Kazuki asked Mitsuru. “It has. The last of the civilians are leaving now,” Mitsuru answered. “Good. We don’t want the civilians caught up in the fighting.” “Fighting? I thought we were just digging for Sakuradite!” “We are digging for Sakuradite,” Kazuki began, turning to face Mitsuru. “However, In order for me to earn the trust of you and the rest of the Colonial Japanese Resistance Group, I will have to produce a miracle for you. That miracle will appear tonight, Mitsuru.” “But we only have 24 Yamatos! We won’t stand a chance in actual combat with Britannia, especially against someone like Leon! That’s why we resort to terrorism!” Mitsuru shouted. “Do not worry. I have everything planned out. No one on our side will die,” Kazuki said, calmly. “Follow me.” The two walked into the building Tsuyo cleared of people earlier. C.C. was working on a large television camera and didn’t seem to notice them come in. Kazuki led Mitsuru to a table, where a map was laid out. “We are here, at the summit of Mount Nagata,” Kazuki said, pointing to their location on the map. “I have set up various bombs around our location. Upon detonation, they will create a landslide.” Kazuki then drew a red line up part of the mountain on the map, using a marker that was placed on the table. “This red line is the only part of the mountain that won’t be hit by the landslide, due to the landmarks there. They will redirect the mud and boulders to the side of that path.,” Kazuki continued. “Now, Leon will most likely try and surround us around the mountain. We will obviously use the landslide to eliminate them.” Kazuki pointed to the red line he drew. “Leon is not a fool and he will study the terrain before he deploys his soldiers. He will know that this path is safe from landslides and will send a small group of elite Knightmare pilots up this path to try and pull off a surprise attack on us at the summit. I will have an ambush prepared on that path.” “But,” Mitsuru interrupted. “Leon is quite intelligent, though. Won’t he expect an ambush?” “You are correct, my friend. Leon will expect an ambush here,” Kazuki said, pointing to a spot on the red line. “Our ambush will be located farther down the mountain, where they won’t be expecting it, like right here.” Kazuki placed his finger at another point along the red line. “The enemies marching up the mountain on this path will be captured and used as hostages. Leon will arrange for us to meet with him, to negotiate their release. Negotiation should be quite easy. Leon will easily give us prototype Knightmares for the release of his elite soldiers.” “But how can you be sure that the enemy will even show up here?” Mitsuru asked, studying the map. Kazuki smirked and glanced towards C.C. “C.C., is everything ready?” “Yes,” she answered., resting her arm on the camera. “Good,” Kazuki said, turning back to Mitsuru. “I will be appearing on TV. C.C. set things up so that our signal will interrupt every other television signal on the planet. Every television turned on around the world will show me and my message. Leon will see it.” “I get it,” Mitsuru said, looking towards the camera. Kazuki walked in front of the camera. “C.C., turn it on now, please.” “Very well,” she answered, flipping a switch on the camera. ========================= Leon el Britannia was sitting in a large red chair aboard an aircraft crossing the Pacific Ocean. The ship was heading towards Area 11 to drop off the new viceroy and his subordinates. Leon’s chair was in the center of a large room in the front of the ship. The walls on the outside of the ship in this room were made of glass, allowing him to see in almost every direction. Multiple people in Britannian military uniforms stood around the room. There was a television hanging from the ceiling in front of Leon. He was watching the news, which was talking about a recent battle between Britannia and Australia. “More than 90% of the Britannian soldiers in the battle yesterday lost their lives. It seems that Aace Habide has set a new kill record. This man seems to be-” The screen turned black for a split second and then showed Kazuki, dressed up to look like Zero. Leon, who had almost fallen asleep, suddenly became fully awake and stared at the screen, along with everyone else in the room. Everyone that was in the room had their heart jump after seeing Kazuki. Kazuki simply stood, without saying a word, for about ten seconds. “I am Talon,” he declared. “I have two reasons for appearing before you today. Firstly, I would like to say that it is pointless to keep on searching for Roland’s murderer. I killed him.” Leon continued to watch the television, having his interests caught. “Roland begged pathetically for his life, like the typical Britannian. I shot him in the forehead to silence his annoying pleas for mercy,” Kazuki said. Leon clenched his fists. We never released to the public what kind of weapon was used to kill him or what part of him that weapon did damage to. This means that he’s either working for the government or he’s the one...that actually killed him... “My second purpose is to invite the new viceroy of Area 11, Leon el Britannia, and the soldiers under his command to Yakushima Island and Mount Nagata. I have the Colonial Japanese Resistance Group with me and we are itching for a fight. Leon, if you do not show up tonight, we will be forced to kill innocent Britannian civilians in the city at the bottom of the mountain. We have Knightmares stationed throughout the city, preventing their escape. Do not think that I won’t go through with this. I will not hesitate to kill them." The screen turned black for another split second and then the news came back on. “Damn...” Leon said to himself. |

Stage 6: Incident on Yakushima Island Kazuki stood at the top of the top of the cliff he was earlier, before he was approached by Mitsuru. He was watching various Britannian Knightmares wander through the streets of the city below, searching for the inhabitants that he had evacuated in secrecy earlier. Kazuki was still wearing his Zero costume with the cape wrapped around his body. The Britannian military was doing just as Kazuki had hoped. The empty city through many of the Britannian soldiers into confusion, although Leon was able to see that they were tricked into coming. Leon was trying to inform as many of his men as he could about the situation, but most of them would not listen to reason. C.C. stood by Kazuki’s left side, looking down towards the city as well. After a long while, Kazuki removed his mask, after confirming that no one else was around. “C.C., I’d like to thank you for this Zero outfit. I think it worked out quite nicely,” Kazuki said. “You do not need to thank me,” C.C. replied. “As long as you destroy Britannia, I will give you my assistance.” “I guess that’s good to know,” Kazuki said, followed by a short pause. “You’re having second thoughts?” C.C. asked, breaking the silence. Kazuki turned his head slightly, so that he could see C.C. “How’d you know?” “It’s written all over your face,” C.C. answered. “...I don’t want to kill all of these soldiers,” Kazuki began. “Most of them haven’t done anything wrong. My fight is with the imperial family.” “It’s good to see that you have a human side, but in order to get at the imperial family, you must eliminate that which protects it,” C.C. answered. Kazuki laughed softly. “That’s kind of funny...” “What is?” C.C. asked. “You have shown little to no emotion since I met you and yet you are surprised when I show my human side,” Kazuki said. “But... those soldiers all have families that love them. I know what it’s like to have family taken away...” “You didn’t hesitate to kill yesterday or the day before,” C.C. stated. “...You never say the right things,” Kazuki declared with a small smile on his face. “Zero thought so too,” C.C. said. “The Britannians are beginning their ascent,” Kazuki said after a short pause, looking down towards the Knightmares that were beginning to climb the mountain. Kazuki placed his helmet back on and walked back into the building on the summit. He grabbed a small black remote that was sitting on the table and walked back outside, where Mitsuru was waiting for him inside his Yamato. “Mitsuru, is everyone in position?” “Yes. Fuyu and Tsuyo are hiding along that path you pointed out earlier,” Mitsuru replied. “Very good,” Kazuki said, pressing the large red button that was on the remote. The summit was suddenly surrounded by explosions and smoke, which were followed by the roaring sounds of rock and mud plummeting down the side of a mountain. Kazuki smirked while watching the landslide crush many Britannian Knightmares. Eventually, the mud and rock crashed into the city at the bottom of the mountain, destroying most of the buildings. “Mitsuru, I want you and all available Knightmares to find and attack any survivors of the landslide.” ========================= Tsuyo watched quietly as four Harlands passed by him and Fuyu. Three of them were regular Harlands, but one had various orange designs on it, signaling that it was the one in charge of the group. Tsuyo and Fuyu were hiding behind various trees and bushes, so that the Britannians wouldn’t see them. Tsuyo’s Yamato was equipped with a unique Sniper Rifle, specifically designed for Knightmare use. He took advantage of the fact that Yamatos could not be detected by radar and pointed his rifle at the cockpit of one of the Harlands. He fired, causing the cockpit he was aiming at to explode after being hit by the bullet, instantly killing the pilot. After the shot was fired, Fuyu dashed out from behind the trees, using a Maser Vibration Sword to instantly cut one of the Harlands in half. Two more Yamatos jumped out from behind the trees, pointing their assault rifles at the two remaining Harlands. Tsuyo came out of hiding as well. “Get out of your Harlands,” Fuyu commanded. “Or we will be forced to shoot you down.” After a few moments, the cockpits of both Harlands opened up and the pilots climbed down. “These bitches actually gave in, man. I didn’t think they would!” Tsuyo said excitedly, watching the Britannians climb down. ========================= Later that night, a military helicopter landed on the summit of Mount Nagata. Leon hopped out of the vehicle, along with a solider carrying a large machine gun. The two walked calmly into the building near the summit, where Kazuki, Mitsuru, and C.C. were waiting for them. Leon and the soldiers sat down on one side of the table in the center of the room, while Kazuki, Mitsuru, and C.C. sat down on the other side. “I have been expecting you, Leon,” Kazuki said. “I expect you are here to negotiate the release of our hostages.” “You play an unfair game,” Leon said. “You tricked us into coming here and then take hostages. Where’s your honor?” “Honor?” Kazuki began. “At least I don’t harm those who can’t protect themselves or discriminate against people because of their race or religion. At least I don’t abuse power or oppress the weak. Leon, you are wrong. It is you Britannians who live without honor.” “You guys don’t even allow freedom of speech anymore! If someone says one bad thing about the empire, they get to meet the executioner’s axe!” Mitsuru added. “That’s our only option to prevent people from rising up against us!” Leon said. “Why do you think we rise up, Leon?!” Mitsuru shouted, standing up and slamming his hands against the table. “Calm down, Mitsuru,” Kazuki said, placing his hand on Mitsuru’s shoulder. “There are some Britannians that have a righteous heart. There are some who dislike all the racism in the world. Like you, for example, Leon. I know all about you.” “You don’t know anything about me,” Leon said. “I beg to differ,” Kazuki began. “I know all about your strengths, your weaknesses, your talents, and your faults. The truth is I know just about everything there is to know about you. I know how you were disinherited after an argument with the Emperor, how your father was killed by Aace Habide, and how you are too much of a coward to fight against racism.” “How the...?” Leon asked, wide-eyed. “I know that you enjoy reading books and that you give chocolate to little children you meet in the park,” Kazuki continued. “Your favorite color is orange and your favorite animal is the Blue Whale.” Suddenly, C.C. pulled out a small pistol and instantly shot the soldier guarding Leon in the head, while Kazuki pulled out his own pistol and pointed it towards Mitsuru’s head. “T-Talon? What the hell are you doing?!” Mitsuru asked. “You’re usefulness has run out,” Kazuki said, pulling the trigger, killing Mitsuru instantly. “You just killed your own ally?” Leon questioned, confused. “Yes, and you are next,” Kazuki said, smirking. “This building is sound proof. No sound can come in or out, so don’t be expecting any help to save you.” “You’re a lunatic...” “Mitsuru was a pawn in my game of revenge. I’ll tell the others that you shot him, so, in turn, I had to take your life. What do you think, Leon?” “Who are you?! Leon questioned. “You mean you still haven’t figured it out?” Kazuki asked. “I thought you were smarter than that. Perhaps I overestimated you...” “Tell me who you are!” Leon ordered, obviously frustrated. Kazuki removed his helmet, revealing his face to Leon. “Kazuki vi Britannia stands before you.” “K-Kazuki? You escaped from your execution?” “I’m surprised that you are aware it was an execution. That idiot Roland thought it was an accident...” “I get it. You want revenge for the death of your family,” Leon said. “That’s one reason,” Kazuki said. “I’ve lived as a Japanese civilian for five years now and, quite frankly, I’m not impressed with the way these people are treated. I want to improve this world in any way I can.” “You don’t have to use such terrible methods!” Kazuki grinned. “Leon, you were indeed a very good friend to me. Don’t take it personally, but instead blame this on the misfortune of your birth.” Kazuki fired the pistol at Leon multiple times, covering him with blood. |

Stage 7: Lynnette's Test June 7th, 2073 “Clearly, Talon is not to be underestimated,” Alison said to Mick Brooks, the Knight of Three, who was sitting in a red chair that looked as though it cost a lot of money. Alison was sitting in a similar chair a few feet away from him. “Anyone that can kill two members of the Imperial family in three days is a fairly large threat, I think.” Akira, who was leaning against a wall with his right shoulder and looking out a window, seemed to be paying no interest in the conversation between Alison and Mick. He crossed his arms and continued to watch out the window silently. Mick lit a cigarette and placed it in his mouth. He smoked it for a few seconds before replying to Alison. “That’s not my problem. I’m leaving Area 11 as soon as the rest of the Sakuradite is ready to be taken back to the homeland.” “That probably won’t be until tomorrow,” Alison said. “So, if Talon makes any moves today, you’re getting involved.” “Well, that’s not fair,” Mick replied. “I don’t want to.” “Well, you will assist us,” Alison commanded. “Whether you want to or not.” “What authority do you have to order me?” Mick asked. Before Alison could reply, a door opened at the far end of the room, and Lynnette Hawke, the Knight of Four, approached them. “The emperor has given us the day off, until Victoria and Damien get here, which won’t be until late tonight. You are all free to do whatever you please today, unless any terrorists make a move,” Lynnette said, sitting down on a couch in the room and closing her eyes. “That’s sweet!” Mick shouted, jumping out of his seat. “See ya!” He quickly ran out of the room and disappeared from the other’s views. “Hey, Zodiac,” Lynnette said, referring to Akira. “You gonna do anything besides stare out that window?” “Shut up,” he ordered, continuing to look outside. “What’s out there that’s so interesting?” Lynnette asked, adjusting herself on the couch so that she was lying down. “I said shut up,” Akira said. “Whatever...” Lynnette replied. “What about you, Alison?” “Oh, I don’t know, Lynn,” Alison answered. “I’m thinking about meeting up with a guy I met in Nagasaki the other day.” “In Nagasaki?” Lynnette asked. “Did it ever occur to you that he might be a terrorist?” “He’s a civilian. I have no doubt about it,” Alison replied. “You probably shouldn’t get too attached to an eleven,” Lynnette began. “You might end up losing your Knight of Rounds status." “I don’t think so,” Alison replied. “Either way, would you mind if I tag along?” Lynnette asked. “I want to confirm that he’s not a terrorist.” “I don’t know,” Alison replied. “Maybe.” “I promise I won’t be a burden!” Lynnette shouted, moving back to a sitting up position on the couch. “You won’t even know I’m there! I’ll do some spying or something!” “Fine,” Alison said, sighing. “But you better not bother us.” “I won’t. So, tell me a little bit about him,” Lynnette said. “Well, uh,” Alison began. “He’s nice, funny, interesting, and pretty good looking.” “Gah,” Akira said, walking away from the window for the first time since he entered the room. “Girl talk is so stupid...” He left the room, leaving Lynnette and Alison alone. “Keep going,” Lynnette said after Akira left. “Tell me more.” ========================= “C.C., will you travel to Australia for me?” Kazuki asked. The two were sitting at a table in a small restaurant in Nagasaki, discussing Kazuki’s current plans while eating lunch. The two had originally planned to split a pizza evenly, but C.C. was eating most of it herself. “To win their support?” C.C. asked, grabbing a slice of pizza. “Yes,” Kazuki replied. “Gaining their assistance will make defeating Britannia much easier.” “But, while I’m gone, I won’t be here to protect you. I’m not going to let you die. Something could happen while I’m away,” C.C. said. “It would be in your best interest if we earn Australia’s support too, you know,” Kazuki began. “Surely having the skills of Aace Habide on our side will lower the chance of me being killed in battle.” “Can’t you just talk to them through a telephone or something?” C.C. asked, not wanting to leave Kazuki alone for an entire day, the amount of time this mission would take. “No,” Kazuki said. “The Britannians could intercept the signals. I want our alliance to be a secret so that we can surprise the Britannians with a coordinated joint attack.” “I understand,” C.C. said. “But what makes you so sure that Australia will agree to this alliance?” “They need help as much as we do,” Kazuki answered. “Well maybe not quite as much as us...but they still need it, if they want to overthrow the empire.” “They seem to be doing just fine on their own,” C.C. said. “You are wrong,” Kazuki said. “They have only been able to defend themselves. They are currently unable to produce a counterattack to invade Britannian territory.” “They could take plenty of territory if they use an invasion force centered on Aace Habide and Valary Kinross,” C.C. stated, finishing the slice of pizza she grabbed earlier and then grabbing another. “You are wrong again,” Kazuki said. “Australia is growing weaker. Every day they have deserters and traitors, leaving the military unable to produce an invasion force large enough to take anything.” C.C. paused shortly while she finished her slice of pizza. “Why don’t you come with me?” she asked. “The Colonial Japanese Resistance Group elected you as its leader after Mitsuru’s death. I think that it would make diplomatic negotiations much easier.” “I would like to,” Kazuki answered. “But I’m afraid I can’t. Yumi is already mad at me for being gone so much these last few days.” “I understand,” C.C. said. “Although,” Kazuki continued. “If you want, I can probably get someone to accompany you. I bet Tsuyo would be willing...” “You want to send me with that pervert?! What have I done to deserve such torment?!” Kazuki began laughing. “He’s not that bad, is he?” “He’s pretty bad,” C.C. said. “Yesterday, while we were on Mount Nagata, he tried seducing me into sleeping with him while we were waiting for the Britannians to show up!” “Really?” Kazuki asked. “Yeah,” C.C. said. “I almost consented, just so that he would shut up.” “He can’t be that bad...” Kazuki said, picking up a glass of water and beginning to drink it. “Did you know that Captain Syphilis got busy on a park bench one time?” C.C. asked. Kazuki began choking on the water he was drinking. While he was choking, he noticed Alison walk into the restaurant. “We’ll finish this conversation later. Alison is here,” he said. “Remember, your name is Nami when you are around her.” “Why do I have to go by Nami?” “Because C.C. isn’t a normal name. We don’t want the Britannian Military suspecting us, do we?” “C.C. isn’t my real name, you know,” C.C. said. “Well then, what is?” Kazuki asked. “I’m not telling.” Kazuki growled. “Then you are going by Nami.” Alison found her way to the table Kazuki and C.C. were sitting at after a short while. “Hey, Alison,” Kazuki said. “Please, have a seat.” “Hey,” she said, sitting down. “Who’s that?” she asked, referring to C.C.. “That’s Nami,” Kazuki answered. “The one I told you was with me over the phone.” “Oh, right,” Alison said. “It’s nice to meet you, Nami.” “You as well,” C.C. said. “So, Alison,” Kazuki began. “Shouldn’t you be doing military stuff right now?” “No,” Alison answered. “We were given the day off until Victoria and Damien get here to replace Leon.” “They’re sending two?” C.C. asked. “Yeah,” Alison said. “They want to get rid of this Talon character as quickly as possible.” Kazuki frowned. “The last time Victoria is here she needlessly slaughtered many of us Japanese,” he began. “I guess we should prepare for the worst.” “I’ll make sure Victoria doesn’t harm any civilians while I’m around,” Alison said. “I’ll make sure her Knight, Terran, doesn’t do anything either.” The owner of the restaurant, a large and pudgy man, approached the table they were sitting at. He was holding a small envelope in his right hand. “Excuse me, Kazuki,” he said. “Yes? What is it?” “This letter is for you,” he said, handing the envelope to Kazuki. Kazuki grabbed it after a short hesitation. “Who’s it from?” “They told me not to say.” Alison quickly glanced over to the other side of the restaurant, where Lynnette was watching silently while drinking a large glass of soda. Kazuki slowly opened the envelope and pulled out the piece of paper that was inside. He began reading the words that were printed on it. “We are currently engaged in combat with the Britannians. We need you on the front lines. Please come right away. ~Mitsuru” “Uh, I think you’ve made a mistake,” Kazuki said, placing the letter in the envelope and handing it back to the man who gave it to him. “This letter isn’t for me.” “S-Sorry,” the man said, grabbing the envelope and walking away. “That letter obviously isn’t from the CJRG, but who could it be from? Wait, the Britannians don’t know that Mitsuru is dead yet, could it be that this was a test? Does this mean they are suspicious of me? It’s a possibility... But, if this was a test, wouldn’t that mean that there is someone here testing me?” Kazuki’s eyes followed the restaurant owner, who handed the letter to Lynnette. Their eyes met for a split second, until Kazuki quickly looked away. Lynnette began smiling as she took another sip of her soda. “That’s Lynnette Hawke, the Knight of Four...Shit! That means this was a test! Damn it, how long has she been sitting there watching us? Was she there before Alison showed up? Or did she show up afterwards? Lynnette is known for her brilliance. I can’t even be compared to her, so chances are that she’s already confirmed I’m working with the CJRG...” Kazuki stood up and grabbed C.C.’s arm, pulling her up as well. “Sorry, Alison. We’ve got to go. I forgot that we had something we have to do. I’ll catch you later,” he said, quickly working his way towards the door, dragging C.C. behind him. “I’ve got to get away before they imprison me...” Kazuki rushed outside and darted home, along with C.C. “Damn it...That was a stupid move. Rushing out like that definitely confirmed that I’m working with the resistance... What should I do now?” |
